INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on becoming part of the Sky family. We are
very pleased to welcome you to the world of Sky and hope that
you will enjoy many hours of fantastic ying aboard your Sky
Paragliders harness.
Sky Paragliders is based in the heart of Europe and we pride
ourselves on our own, purpose built, state of the art production
facilities in the Czech Republic.
Our management and development teams are located just 25
steps above the glider production facility. This close contact is
incredibly important to us and helps to ensure that our products
are of the highest quality possible and with minimal air miles on
our raw materials.

Please read this Manual carefully and note the following details:
The purpose of this Manual is to oer guidelines to the pilot
using this harness. We advise that you only y with this harness
when qualied to do so. Pilots are personally responsible for
their own safety and their equipment’s airworthiness. The use
of this harness is solely at the user's own risk! Neither the
manufacturer nor dealer accept any liability connected with this
activity. This harness, on delivery, meets all the requirements
of the EN 1651 and LTF regulations and has an airworthiness
certicate issued by Sky Paragliders. Any alterations to the
harness will render its certication invalid.
CRUX is a super lightweight harness which is integrated into
an authentic lightweight mountain backpack solution for the
alpinist who loves to climb/hike & y. It is designed to deliver
ultimate functionality on the mountain. Crux’s design enables
simple, direct access & deployment of the harness from the
lower section of the backpack without the need to reverse the
backpack, allowing all your gear to remain compartmentalized
within the backpack.
1.2 Certication
CRUX has passed the certication according to load test EN
1651:2016.
Any alteration of the harness can invalidate all the aforemen
tioned certications.

1.3 Scope of delivery
Your CRUX is delivered with:
• Light weight Grivel Carabiners
• Additional shoulder straps for use of the harness without
backpack
Optional extras
• Front Reserve Container Light (X-Pod)
• V-Dyneema Line reserve bridle
• Lightspeed speed system kit
• X-Airbag
1.4 Features
• Back pack Compression system
Crux features 2 compression systems:
Roll top:
When carrying smaller loads or after removing your wing, the
roll top compression system can be used (diag) to reduce the
height of the backpack and to eliminate utter and noise whilst
ying.
Side:
The side compression straps can be used to contain the load
closer to your body and eliminate any load shift whilst hiking
or ying.

2.2 Fittingtheoptionalfrontmount

Important advice for using a front container (X-Pod).
Front container should hang on the other side than carabiner
gates. This is essential so that when the reserve is thrown the
reserve connections run upwards unimpeded.
In addition the reserve must be hung in the carabiners before
hooking up the paraglider risers.
The reserve parachute can be deployed with the right or left
hand when front container is used.

4. CARING FOR YOUR
CRUX
4.1 Use
Crux is made from light, yet strong high tech materials.
However, care and attention should be exercised when using
Crux to avoid abnormal contact with abrasive surfaces. Grivel
carabiners are lightweight and require special attention. Avoid
side loads, impacts and abrasion, if you have suspect any
damage, replace them immediately.
4.3 Maintenance
• The harness should be checked regularly for signs of wear
and damage.
• The carabiners should be replaced every 3 years or 300
ights.
• Avoid side loading or impacts to these lightweight
carabiners.
• All repairs should be carried out by the manufacturer or by
qualied persons who have been authorized by the man
ufacturer, and always using the original materials (thread,
webbing, buckles).
• The zip fasteners should be lubricated from time to time,
using a silicone spray.
• The harness may be cleaned using mild soap and a soft
brush.

5. GUARANTEE
Crux is guaranteed for two years against any production fault
since the date of purchase.
The guarantee does not cover:
• Damage caused by misuse, neglect of regular mainte
nance, or if the harness is overloaded or misused.
• Damage caused by inappropriate landings.

erly. Please make sure your harness is disposed of in the correct environmental manner or send it back to Sky Paragliders
for correct disposal. In case of any doubts regarding the
information in the manual, contact your SKY dealer.
CRUX was developed for Hike & Fly but it is suitable for towing.
The tow bridles should be attached to the main carabiners. If
you have any doubts ask a qualied towing instructor.
