Before beginning the installation, thoroughly & completely read these instructions & the enclosed
driver’s WARNING NOTICE. Affix the WARNING decal in the passenger compartment in clear view
of all occupants. Please refer to the Parts List to insure that all parts & hardware are received prior
to the disassembly of the vehicle. If any parts are found to be missing, contact SKYJACKER

Installation:
1. Park the vehicle on a level concrete or asphalt surface with the
front tires / wheels pointing straight forward.
2. Set the emergency brake & block the rear tires / wheels.
3. Remove the OEM steering stabilizer & OEM bracket from the
cross member using a 18mm socket. (See Photo # 1)
4. Attach the new Skyjacker steering stabilizer bracket to the OEM
cross member using the OEM mounting holes & OEM hardware.
5. Part # 7156: Install the supplied 1/2" x 1 1/4” fine thread bolt,
washers, & nut in the remaining mounting hole. (See Arrow in
Photo # 2)
6. Install the new Skyjacker tapered sleeve into the tapered
mounting hole of the OEM drag link. With the new tapered sleeve
installed, insert the new Skyjacker tapered stud for Part # 7156.
(See Photo # 3) Insert the 1/2" x 3 1/2" bolt & spacer for Part
# 7154. Note: The new spacer is to be installed on the top side of
the OEM drag link.

7. Install the new Skyjacker non-tapered stud into the top of the new
steering stabilizer bracket. Install the supplied 5/8 hourglass
bushings & boot onto the new Skyjacker steering stabilizer.
8. Attach the new Skyjacker steering stabilizer onto the new studs
using the supplied washers & nuts. (See Photo # 4)
Important Notes:
• Part # 7154 is designed to work on vehicles with a 4” or 8.5" suspension lift. When installing on an
8.5”, the new steering stabilizer & stud will mount to the bottom of the new frame bracket. Part #
7156 is designed to work on vehicles with a 6” suspension lift.

Final Notes:
• After the installation is complete, double check that all nuts & bolts are tight. Refer to the following
chart for the proper torque specifications. (Do not retighten the nuts & bolts where thread lock
compound was used.)
• Cycle the steering of the vehicle left to right & check all parts for adequate clearance.
• After the first 100 miles, check all of the hardware for the proper torque & periodically thereafter.
