PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This user’s manual deals with the operation of the DOL 53X. The user’s manual provides the user with the fundamental knowledge about the functions of the computer that is required to ensure optimum use of DOL 53X.
As the DOL 53X software is modular, this manual will contain sections that are irrelevant to the setup of your computer. If in doubt, please contact SKOV A/S service or your SKOV A/S dealer.
The DOL 53X house computer for broilers offers the opportunity for efficient production control and systematic supervision. DOL 53X therefore provides a detailed picture of productivity as well as an indication of any problems in the house, for instance deficiencies in feed consumption.
To provide the best results it is necessary to monitor production continuously and take corrective actions if productivity is not as expected. During rearing it is important to monitor the animals' gain and uniformity as well as to ensure the correct amount of feed.
Feed control SKOV's house computer can ensure the precise dosing of feed. The feed is weighed out and supplied in pan or
feed chain lines. Feed can be used from up to five silos and the feed can be mixed prior to feeding. Feed and water consumption is precisely registered.
Light control Automatic light control can be implemented that is adapted to the needs of the type of animal. The amount of
light can be measured with light sensors and is controlled with light dimmers to achieve the required amount of light.
Water control The animals' water consumption is registered and displayed as both current and historical figures, for example
water per animal. By using water control, access to water can be time-controlled in the same way as feed. It is also possible to draw attention to alarms for rapid monitoring of leakages and stoppages in the water system.
Analysis All key figures can be compared with production targets established by the breeding companies and deviations
easily identified. Data can also be submitted and analysed via the PC management programme or smartphone app FarmOnline Explorer, which provides a precise overview of all the key values wished for on a daily or weekly basis

This user's manual deals with operating DOL 53X. The user’s manual provides the user with the fundamental knowledge about the functions of the computer that is required to ensure optimum use of DOL 53X.
Some functions are optional and only used in specific set-ups of the house computer. These functions are shown with an optional icon
If a function is not used, e.g. Extra sensor, it is not shown on the computer's user menus. The manual can therefore contain sections that are not relevant to the specific set-up of your computer. See also Technical Manual or, if necessary, contact SKOV A/S service or your dealer.

This manual's User Guide consists of a general introduction, which describes briefly how to operate the house computer.
This is followed by descriptions of DOL 53X's functions, divided into four main sections. Both the main sections and the subsections follow the same order as the functions have in DOL 53X's menus.
Each section is introduced with a menu outline in table form. The outline is used to give an overview of the setting options for the different functions as well as to see where in the menus a given setting can be found.
This is followed by a short general
description of the function andshort descriptions in list format of the individual
parameters. If more detailed descriptions are required,
the reader is referred from the short descriptions to the subsequent sections with examples and illustrations.

1 Operation
All operation of DOL 53X is made by pressing on the computer's touch screen.

1.1 Main menus
There is access to all functions from the main menus. The menus are divided up into the following sub-menus: Climate,
Production, Operation, Alarm settings and Technical.
An icon path in the menus indicates the current display. For example: Main menu/ Climate/ Humidity/ Info
1.2 Alarm log
The icon for alarm log indicates the number of active alarms, as long as an alarm situation has not ended.
DOL 53X shows the alarms as a pop-up. Press to acknowledge the alarm.
Press to open the alarm log. The alarm log contains information such as:
- When the alarm occurred.
- When it was acknowledged.
- When it was deactivated (the state of alarm ceased).
- The value that triggered the alarm.
Other active alarms are marked on the list.
- Hard alarms are marked in red.
- Soft alarms are marked in yellow.
Deactivated alarms are grey. The alarm relay is only trigged by hard alarms. Soft alarms generate a pop-up in the display. See also section 4.

1.3 Selection of language
DOL 53X is supplied in all available languages.
Select Selection of language and highlight the desired language.
1.4 Front display
The front display can be set up so that it shows exactly those functions and values that are used in the individual house. By selecting 1-6 functions, DOL 53X displays large icons, and by the selection of up to 16 functions DOL 53X will display small icons.
More pages can be added to the front display. See section 1.4.1.

move your finger across the screen to switch between the pages.
Press an icon to change the value in question. See also section 1.5.
When an icon is displayed without a colour, this is because the data for this function is not available – eg. a disconnected sensor.
1.4.1 Set-up of front display
Press and select Set up front display. Setting up the front display is made in three steps.
Step 1. Select functions
indicates a selected function.
Step 2. Add more pages (optional) Press on to add more pages to the front display (max. 5 in total).
The same function can also be selected to displays on several pages, if this is required.

Press and to change the current value. A blue mark on the bar displays the change.

1.5.1 Password
DOL 53X can be protected against unauthorised operation with the use of passwords. This function can be activated in the menu Technical/ Use password.
In order to have access to changing a setting, you must enter a password that corresponds to the user level which the relevant function is found at (Daily, Advanced and Service).
Enter four digits. After entering the password, DOL 53X can be operated at the
corresponding user level until it returns to the front menu after 10 minutes without activity.
Set the computer back to the front display after operation. After one minute a password will be required again.
You can change the password for each of the three user levels in the menu Operation/Change password. In order to gain access to changing a password, you must first enter the valid password.

In the menu Management/ Change password enter a new four-digit password twice to change an existing password.
SKOV A/S recommends that you change the passwords of the factory setting and subsequently change the password on a regular basis.

In the Animals menu, you set the information about e.g. the number of stocked and moved animals. The figures entered in Animals will be included in the calculations of DOL 53X’s production control.
The view of the menu depends on whether DOL 53X is set up for mixed animals or sexed animals.
Production/ Animals/ Add/remove animals
On the basis of the number entered in the Add/Remove animals menu, DOL 53X calculates the number of live animals, total number of dead animals and mortality in the house.
When you select Sexed animals, DOL 53X displays a number of females and males, respectively.
2.2.1 Add/ Remove Animals
On the basis of the numbers entered, DOL 53X calculates the total numbers of animals for the morning and evening and for the total batch.

2.2.1.1 Culled Animals
DOL 53X can register culling reasons. Indicate culling reasons:

Registration is carried out as described for Add/remove animals. The number of culled animals is summed up and included in
DOL 53X’s calculations of the total number of animals in the house.
The historic figures are accessible through the BigFarmnet Manager management program.
2.2.1.2 Stocked Animals
Enter the total number of animals at batch start. If, in the course of a batch, animals are added or removed from
the house, this must be registered in the menus Add/ Remove
animals or Culled animals.
It is important that the figure is correct as this is essential for the calculation of key figures.

In order to achieve optimal production levels it is important that the animals' gain follows the recommendations of the breeding company. The amount of food can be changed to regulate gain.
Weighing can be carried out automatically or manually. With automatic weighing, you can also enter the result of manual weighings as an inspection weight.
Production/ Bird weigher
In automatic weighing mode, the computer calculates the following key figures:
average weight
growth
relative standard deviation
uniformity
number of weighings for each animal weigher
In manual weighing mode, you have to enter the average weight of the birds in DOL 53X.
The manual weighings should be carried out on the same day and time of the week and just before feeding in order to ensure that the weighings are comparable.

Inspection bird weight
Inspection weight installed together with an automatic weight
Entering of the average of your manual weighings. The inspection weight can be used as a basis for comparison for the automatic weighings.
Average weight
Automatic: DOL 53X’s calculation of the average weight of the birds on the basis of registrations from the animal weighers.
Growth
Animal growth during the last 24 hours.
Coefficient of variance
The percentage deviation of the animal weight in relation to the average weight. The higher the relative standard deviation, the less uniform the birds.
Uniformity
The percentage of birds, the weight of which is within a limit of +/-10% of the average weight, i.e. how uniform the weight of the birds is.
No. of weighings
Number of weighings during the last 24 hours.
Ref. weight now
The expected weight of the birds at the current day number.
Correction factor
Setting the correction factor to compensate for too many weighings of lighter birds (see section 2.3.1).
Disconnect period
Setting of a period without weighing in connection with feeding (see section 2.3.2).
Current bird weight
The current weight registered by the bird weigher (not displayed for manual weighing).
2.3.1 Correction Factor
Production/ Bird weigher/ Bird weigher
The natural behaviour of the broilers means that the heavier broilers do not step onto the bird weigher as often as the lighter broilers. The weigher might therefore show a weight that is lower than the actual weight of the broilers.
You can set a Correction factor to compensate for the weight deviation. By means of the correction factor, DOL 53X corrects the registered weight, depending on the age of the birds.
DOL 53X is factory pre-set with a curve for behavioural constant that you can adjust with your own observations over the course of the batch.
To set a correction factor, you must calculate by how much the registered weight is lower than the settled slaughter weight (in percent).
Example 1: Calculation of a Correction factor from the factory pre-set value

SKOV A/S recommends that the Correction factor be adjusted for the current animals. This can be done by setting the Correction factor at 100 % and making frequent manual weighings during the
first 1-2 batches. Correlate the weighing results with the weight reference curve and adjust the Correction factor.
2.3.2 Period without Weighing
Production/ Bird weigher/ Bird weigher
When feeding, the birds eat and drink a lot in a short time and their weight therefore also increases a lot. For a
period after feeding, the weight of the birds is therefore “false”. In order to obtain the correct average weight of
the birds, all weighings must be ignored for a given period during and after feeding. DOL 53X will disconnect weighing for the period of time set by you.
If you set Start and Stop at the same time, the weighing will not be interrupted (Factory setting is 00:00). With the setting Start 23:00 and Stop 02:00 the weighing is interrupted for 3 hours from one day to the following day.

DOL 53X Broiler operates with two kinds of feed control:
pan feeding chain feeding
2.4.1 Feed Programs
The time control of feeding is regulated using the feed programs. The feeding follows a pre-determined program, which determines at what time of day and for how long feed is to be administered. It is possible to create up to eight different programs. Each program will then be active from a set day number.
If the time it takes the animals to eat suddenly changes, this can be an indication of problems which ought to be checked further.
It is important that there is an adequate lighting level in the house during feeding, so that the animals are active and seek out the feed. See also section 2.8.
The quantity of feed has been determined in a feed batch curve in the Management menu.
Production/ Feed control
In each program, set:
Day number for next program start. Number of daily starts (1-8). Times for starts and stops.
For each program (row), set one field at a time by pressing the field.
Press / to set the programs from 2-8. Press / to set the start/stop times for the selected
number of starts. The curve shows the values set for the displayed program.
The feed line is switched off outside the periods selected but the cross auger is still able to fill the cross auger tank.
The day before day number 1 (Day no. 0) the feed relay is always switched on. Feeding has therefore been carried out before you stock a new batch in the house. After the last day number, operation continues by following the settings of the last program.
When Batch status is Empty house, feeding is disconnected.
If a start time is set from 00:00 to 24:00, feeding will be carried out for 24 hours.

2.4.2 Pan Feeding
In principle, the feed system is structured as follows.

2.4.2.1 Time-controlled Pan Feeding
Feeding is carried out - in the period specified in the feed program or light program. A sensor in the cross auger tank of the last feed line registers whether there is a need for feed supply. If so, the
cross auger fills up all the tanks during the feeding period. The system stops when the sensor is covered by feed.
Feed state
Status indicates whether the feed system is active (ON/OFF). The system runs according to the feed program settings.
Feed program
DOL 53X automatically regulates feeding in the house based on the values which you indicate in the Feed program menu.
The feed program is set as described above in section 2.4.1.

2.4.2.2 Time and Amount-controlled Feeding
Feeding is carried out with the amount of feed set in the feed reference curve in the menu Management/ Batch
curves/ Production and and in the periods specified in the feed program or the light program.
If DOL 53X is part of a network with the management program BigFarmnet Manager, the reference curves must be set here. An offset value may, however, be set directly at the house computer.
Time and amount feeding can be set to be active only for part of the batch. A start day and a stop day indicate in which part of the batch time and amount -controlled feeding is to be carried out (to be set in the menu
Technical/ Setup/ Adjustment/ Production/ Feed). Outside this period, only time-controlled feeding is used
according to the feed program or the light program.
Feed state
Status indicates whether the feed system is active (ON/OFF).
Controlled feeding

Indicates whether the feed system is active (Completed/ Running/ Paused).

2.4.2.2.1 Feed Distribution on Periods
Set a number of daily starts for each program in the feed programs.
The required amount of feed during the day (as indicated in the feed reference curve) can be distributed between the number of starts (periods).
If a period is changed, DOL 53X automatically adapts the subsequent values. Therefore changes should be made so that they follow the order of the periods.

2.4.2.3 Time and Amount controlled Pan Feeding with Distribution
Feed correction

For time and amount controlled feed, DOL 53X calculates whether the amount consumed corresponds to the consumption required. If more or less than the required amount has been used, DOL 53X automatically adapts the amount to the subsequent periods.
Consumption is checked when the birds have finished eating. This means when DOL 53X is no longer registering consumption (Check consumption when birds full).
If more feed has been allocated than required, DOL 53X stops the feeding period. An amount corresponding to too much feed allocated in relation to the required amount will be deducted from the required amount of food for the next feeding period.
If less than required has been allocated, DOL 53X starts refeeding after a pause. If the required amount has now been achieved, DOL 53X stops the feeding period. If the amount has not been achieved, feeding will continue until the required amount of feed has been achieved or the feeding period has ended. If the required feeding amount has not been achieved before the end of the feeding period, the amount of feed lacking will be transferred to the next feeding period.

2.4.4 Feed Mixture (Drum Weigher and DOL 9940)
When a drum weigher or DOL 9940 is used, DOL 53X is able to handle feed mixtures of up to 5 types of feeds. Feed mixtures can be used for pan and chain feeding. (Feed type selection can be set in the menu Technical/
Setup/ Adjustment/ Production/ Destination setup).

The feed mixture can be adjusted with an offset without changing the feed mixture curve. The distribution of Feeds B, C, D and E are adjusted in relation to the current curve value.
By pressing on the offset value from Current it is possible to reset an offset and return to the original curve value.
Feed mixture curve
The mixture of different feed types is controlled by a mixing program with 8 programs.
Enter the required quantity in percent of feeds B, C, D and E. Then DOL 53X automatically calculates the quantity of feed A.
DOL 53X continuously changes the mixture proportion from day to day in order to prevent sudden changes in the feed composition.
An offset is added to the feed mixture curve. If very high offset values have been set, Feed X today may in time (when the curve increases or drops) exceed 100% or fall below 0%. In that case, the value for Feed X today should be corrected. However, DOL 53X will always calculate the correct mixture proportion.

Based on the weight of the animals and feed consumption, DOL 53X continuously calculates their feed conversion, FCR (Feed Conversion Rate). This reflects how efficiently the animals convert feed to body weight. The lower the FCR, the better the feed conversion.

DOL 53X also calculates the PEF (Production Efficiency Factor) which is the overall expression of production efficiency.
The higher the PEF value, the better the productivity. PEF is calculated based on

2.5.1 Manual Distribution of Feed before Batch Start (Broiler)
In houses with a feed weigher the DOL 53X will fill up the feed system when you set the house to active house. The amount of feed used for filling is not entered as feed consumption (as the feed has not been consumed but only fills the system).
If you want to manually apportion feed (e.g. on paper) in the house, you should follow this procedure to make sure that the feed is calculated into the feed consumption (and included in, e.g., calculations of FCR and PEF).
1. Wait until the first filling has been entirely completed.
2. Take the feed from the last hopper with the cross auger sensor.

It is also possible to control the water according to the light programme. It is also relevant to install water control to draw attention to alarms for rapid monitoring of leakages and
stoppages in the water system. Please note that:
during the time up to the first day number, the water supply is open for 24 hours.
that there is no access to water outside the periods selected.
With time- and amount-controlled water, DOL 53X turns off the water when the desired amount has been consumed

For food delivery, DOL 53X updates the quantity of feed in the silos based on the information which you enter.
For electronic silo weighing, registration is carried out automatically.
Silo 1 state
The current silo feed content is updated continuously by the quantity entered in Silo
delivery and by the quantity of feed consumed.
In some situations, Silo status must be set manually (only for tip weigher, drum
scale or time-controlled feed weighing). However, this should only be done to correct the actual silo content. If you forget to
enter the quantity of feed delivered or find that DOL 53X´s silo status does not correspond to your observations, you can set the real quantity of feed manually.
Silo delivery
For delivery of feed, the quantity delivered must be entered in DOL 53X.
Silo delivery log
Delivery log with quantity and date of each feed delivery. Saves up to 20 deliveries for each silo.

For the same type of feed in several silos, it is possible to set the silo to supply feed. The change occurs immediately after the setting has been changed.

If a silo is emptied and the quantity of feed in the silo overview is higher than the
Minimum silo content set, DOL 53X cannot change automatically. The quantity
must therefore be changed to 0.000 ton for DOL 53X to be able to change automatically.
2.7.1 Empty Silo Sensor
When an empty silo sensor is used, DOL 53X stops the silo auger when the sensor registers that there is no more feed in the silo.
In addition to this, the sensor will also make DOL 53X automatically change to another silo with the same type of feed, as described above. If there is no other silo available with sufficient feed, DOL 53X triggers an alarm for: No feed for feed weigher See paragraph 4.4.
2.7.2 Gradual Transition
DOL 53X is capable of changing gradually between two silos with the same type of feed. This way, it is possible to change gradually to a different feed mixture, e.g. from start feed to grow feed (applies only to drum scale and DOL 9940).

When the house computer is integrated in a LAN network, it is important that each house section has a unique name. The house name is transferred through the network and the house should therefore be identifiable based on its name.

Alarms
Alarms only work when batch status is Active house.
When an alarm is generated, DOL 53X registers the type of alarm and the time at which it occurred.
This information will be shown in a special alarm window in the display together with a short description of the alarm situation.
There are two types of alarm: Hard alarm: Red pop-up alarm on DOL 53X and alarm
generation with the connected alarm units, e.g. a
horn. Soft alarm: Yellow pop-up alert on DOL 53X. In the alarm menu, it is possible to select whether some
production alarms are to be hard or soft.
Switch change When the house computer is connected to an override switch
module, an alarm can be generated for change of the module's switch position.
Changes of the switch position are logged in the operations log in the Technical/ Service/ Memory menu.
The computer will also generate an alarm signal which you can choose to maintain.
The signal will thus continue until you acknowledge it. This also applies even if the event that generated the alarm has stopped.
Alarms maintained:
YES: The signal continues after the alarm event has stopped. NO: The signal stops after the alarm event has stopped.
4.1 Stopping the Alarm Signal
The alarm window in the display disappears and the alarm signal stops when you acknowledge the alarm by pressing the adjustment knob.

4.2 Alarm Log
The DOL 53X climate and production computer registers alarms including information about when they occurred and when they were deactiveated. Several alarms often succeed each other because an error in one function affects other functions.
For instance, a flap alarm could be succeeded by a temperature alarm as the computer cannot control the temperature correctly with a defective flap. This way, the previous alarms enable you to follow an alarm course back in time and find the error that caused the alarms.
The colours in the alarm log reflect the status of alarms: Red: active alarm Yellow: active warning Grey: deactivated alarm (alarm state ceased) DOL 53X saves up to 20 active and deactivated alarms. When the
21st alarm is generated, the computer deletes the oldest alarm from its memory.
The icon for alarm log indicates the number of active alarms, as long as an alarm situation is not deactivated.
Press to open the alarm log and see the general description of the type of alarm and the duration of the alarm situation.
4.3 Alarm Test
Regular testing of alarms contributes to ensuring that they actually work when needed. Therefore, you should test the alarms every week.
Alarms
Press Alarm test, and press ON in order to start testing. Check that the alarm lamp is flashing. Check that the alarm system works as intended.
Click to finish testing. The function Production alarm test test the alarms for production
functions.
DOL 53X has a range of alarms which the computer generates if a technical error occurs or the alarm limits are exceeded. A few of the alarms are always connected, e.g. Power failure. You can connect and disconnect the others and for some you can set the alarm limits.
It is always the user’s responsibility to ensure that the alarm settings are correct.

4.4 Alarms for Production
4.4.1 Feed Alarms
Feed weigher
No feed to feed weigher
The alarm is triggered when the feed weigher determines that no feed is coming from the silos. The function can be connected and disconnected.
In the event of an alarm, DOL 53X deactivates the silo auger. In Time before alarm set how much time shall pass before DOL 53X triggers an
alarm. The alarm remains active until the feed weigher is able to register feed again. When the alarm is acknowledged, the silo auger starts again. It is possible to set the silo auger to run and stop alternately for shorter periods
after the alarm has been acknowledged. When the silo auger is pumping, feeding may possibly start again, if the stop was due to a bridge formation in the silo.
The pump function can be overridden by setting the Stop time silo auger to 0 minutes. This way, DOL 53X will ensure that the silo auger stays turned off until the feed demand sensor is manually removed and reconnected. DOL 53X will then activate the silo auger once in the set runtime (Runtime silo auger).
Missing feed type
One of the feed components used in a mixing program is not available in any of the silos.
Check the status of silos and change type of feed in DOL 53X, as required.
Weigher cannot empty
Feed cannot be discharged as the feed weigher. Using the drum weigher the drum cannot turn or the stop position cannot be
found.
Weigher calibration failure
The calibration of the feed weigher cannot be completed within a given period of time.
Weigher not stable
The feed weigher cannot carry out a stable weighing process. This may be caused by vibrations.
Reference voltage
DOL 53X has registered that the reference signal from the drum scale is less than 9.0 V for a given period of time.

Shutter in wrong position
The weigher wants to change to the other house but the distribution shutter does not react. Applies only when two DOL 53X units share one weigher.
Feed alarms
Cross auger alarm
DOL 53X triggers an alarm if it cannot fill the cross auger tank back up before the stated alarm time (Time before alarm). DOL 53X stops the feeding system to avoid overfilling of feed.
With pan feeding, Stop feeding system if cross auger is empty in the menu
Adjustment must be set to a time that is shorter than the alarm time for the
cross auger.
Not enough feed
(not at chain feeding)
The alarm is generated if the consumption of feed is lower than indicated in the period of time selected (Check interval).
Can be disconnected automatically during the first days of a batch. This alarm is active only during a feeding period.
Too much feed
The alarm continuously monitors whether too much feed is supplied to the house within a time interval.
A system can supply a certain quantity of feed per time unit, depending on the size of supply augers and cross augers.
Instructions for setting the alarm limits: Find the maximum quantity of supplied feed in the feed reference. Multiply the
figure by the number of animals in the house. Divide by 1000 for a figure in kg. This figure indicates the level of consumption in 24 hours. Set the alarm limit to consumption x 2.5.
Ex.: Number of animals = 45,000 Max. feed quantity = 156 g (42 days)
(feed/ animal reference) Kg per day = 45,000 x 156/ 1000 = 7,020 kg Alarm limit = kg per 24 hours x 2.5/ (24 x 60)
(min. per 24 hours) = 12.2 kg/min. Set monitoring time to e.g. 30 minutes. The alarm is generated if feed consumption over 30 minutes exceeds
12.2 x 30 = 366 kg. If the alarm is generated without any error having occurred, monitoring time
should be increased to e.g. 1 hour. This alarm can be disconnected automatically at the start of a batch by setting a
Start day.
Feed consumption decreased
This alarm can be disconnected automatically at the start of a batch by setting a
Start day.
The alarm continuously compares the previous 24 hours with the current 24 hours, and generates an alarm if consumption deviates by more than the set percentage.
Not enough feed at start
The alarm must ensure that the feeding system is in order when feeding restarts after a stop.
As a main rule, the alarm limit should be set to 10 kg (Feed consumption in
given check interval).
For chain feeding, monitoring time may not exceed the time for a chain rotation.

An alarm is generated if consumption at the start of a feeding period (or at the start of chain feeding) is lower than indicated in the period of time selected (Time for alarm check).
Can be disconnected automatically during the first days of a batch (Begin to
check at day number).
Too much feed after stop
DOL 53X monitors whether too much feed has been put through the feed weigher after a feeding period has ended (pan feeding) or the chain has been run through once. Too high a water consumption can indicate that something is wrong.
The cross auger tanks will be filled up at the end of a feed. The type of containers, as well as how much they are filled up before feeding stops determines how much feed is used in refilling.
An alarm is triggered if consumption after a feed period (or when chain feeding stops) is higher than the (Max. feed consumption after stop).
Water/feed ratio
(With water meter)
This alarm indicates that the water/ feed ratio does not follow the reference curve. Possible reasons:
1) Defective water system
2) Sick animals
3) Feed inaccuracies However, note that the water/ feed ratio may be increased in houses without
cooling systems when the outside temperature is high. The alarm is generated if the water and feed consumption ratio within a given
period of time (Time threshold for alarm) deviates from the value set (Water/Feed ratio alarm limit).
Can be disconnected automatically during the first days of a batch (Begin to
check at day number).
Choose whether water is to turn off or not when an alarm is generated. When all water alarms have been acknowledged, DOL 53X turns on the water again.
Feed level too low
Based on the feed consumption of the previous day, DOL 53X calculates how long it will be until the feed is consumed, and will trigger an alarm once this time is surpassed (Feed level too low).
If the same type of feed is in multiple silos, a total overall level will be calculated.
Silo content
Silo content is low
The silo content shown is a calculated value. The alarm is generated when the quantity of feed in a silo is below a set limit.
Silo is empty alarm
The empty silo sensor registers that there is no more feed in the silo and it is not possible to change to another silo, possibly due to low silo content.

4.4.2 Water Alarms
These alarms can be disconnected automatically at the start of a batch by setting a Start alarm day.
Water alarm minimum/Water alarm maximum
These alarms are used for monitoring the animals' drinking patterns. The alarm limits for maximum and minimum water consumption is set as a
percentage based on the normal consumption. The computer calculates this normal consumption by comparing the current
24-hour period with the 24-hour period starting two hours prior to this. At 1 p.m., for example, you look at the period from 11 a.m. the previous day to 11 a.m. on the current day.
Choose whether the water is to turn off or not when an alarm is generated. When all water alarms have been acknowledged, DOL 53X turns on the water again.
With water control
These alarms are used for monitoring leakages and stoppages in the water system.
Not enough water
The alarm is generated if water consumption with a water meter is too low during a given period of time.
It is recommended setting this alarm to 1.0 l/min. and monitoring time to 30 minutes. This means that an alarm will be generated if consumption is lower than 30 litres each half hour.
Too much water ON
The alarm is generated if water consumption with a water meter during a given period of time is too high.
A given system can supply a certain quantity of water per time unit, depending on the capacity of the water supply unit.
The alarm is generated when the system has operated at max. output for too long.
DOL 53X can turn off the water in the event of excessive water consumption. This can either be done via the alarm setting for the water program (Close
water if too much water) or via a water relay (if one has been installed).
Instructions for setting the alarm limits:
Measure how much water runs in one minute on the current water meter. Set the alarm limit for 1 litre less than that measured. Set monitoring time to 30 minutes.
Too much water OFF
The alarm monitors whether the water system is closed when it must be. It is recommended setting the alarm limit to 0.1 l/min. and monitoring time to
30 minutes.
Water meter leakage
DOL 53X cannot turn off water when water consumption is too high.
Water meter relay
For water meters where a relay has been selected, a soft or a hard alarm will interrupt the addition of water.

Alarms can be generated
The DOL 53X computer generates an alarm when the limit for maximum water consumption is exceeded or the consumption is below the limit for minimum water consumption.
There may be many reasons for variations in the animals’ water consumption which will all generate an alarm. It may, for example, be caused by stocking more animals or partial slaughtering, disease coming on in the batch or damage to a water pipe.
In the event of major changes to the number of animals in the house, at least 26 hours should pass before DOL 53X can trigger the alarm.
In order to avoid triggering false alarms, you can indicate how many days should pass before DOL 53X triggers a water alarm.
4.4.3 Light Alarms
Light
DOL 53X has light alarms for the light sensor, main light and slave light. When the light alarm is active, light is not regulated according to light sensors,
if any. It is possible to set a delay for all light alarms to prevent unintended alarms in
connection with brief light changes.
Light sensor
If more light sensors are connected to the same light source (main/ slave light), DOL 53X will generate an alarm if the difference in light intensity is too big at the sensors (Light sensor deviation limit ±, +/-10 lux).

MAINTENANCE GUIDE
DOL 53X requires no maintenance to function correctly. The alarm system should be tested weekly. Only use original spare parts.
Cleaning
Clean DOL 53X with a firmly wrung cloth; do not use solvents. Do not expose it to water jets or high-pressure cleaning.
As for all electronic equipment, it is best for DOL 53X to be constantly powered as this will prolong its life and keep it dry and free from condensation.
Removal for Recycling/ Disposal
SKOV A/S products which are suited for recycling are marked with a pictogram showing a refuse bin that is crossed out. See the picture.
It will be possible for a customer to deliver SKOV A/S products to local collection sites/recycling stations according to local instructions. The recycling station will then send the products to an approved plant for recycling and reuse.
