Introduction
Designed for easy installation, your SKOPE 988E Deluxe Bathroom Fan Heater incorporates a unique wall-mounting hinged chassis, making installation faster and easier. The heater also features an installer adjustable step-down thermostat, which can be adjusted or bypassed during installation.
Safety Information
When using any electrical appliance, safety precautions should always be observed. Read these instructions carefully, and retain for future reference. For service, contact your nearest authorised service agent.
•Under no circumstances should an unauthorised person open the heater, in order to adjust the thermostat.
•When used by, or near, young children or infirm persons, close supervision is necessary. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•Do NOT use this appliance other than for its intended use.
•Use this appliance with the voltage specified on the rating label.
•Be very careful not to touch hot surfaces or moving parts.
•Do NOT cover the grilles or place any object or material up against the unit, as this may block entry or exhaust of airflow.
•Do NOT probe any opening to remove fluff. To ensure trouble-free performance it is recommended that on a regular basis the unit be isolated from the power supply and a vacuum cleaner used to remove dust and fluff from the inlet and outlet grilles.
•Regulations require that electrical work be carried out by authorised persons. For your own safety and that of others, ensure this is done.
•Do NOT allow the supply cord to come into contact with heated surfaces during operation.
•If the supply cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced by a SKOPE authorised service agent, or similarly qualified person, in order to avoid a hazard.

Safety Cutout
Your SKOPE 988E Deluxe Bathroom Fan Heater is fitted with an autoreset thermal cutout and a fusible link. Either of these devices will automatically switch off the elements and the motor, should the unit reach an abnormal temperature. Should this occur:
1.Disconnect heater from power supply
2.Check for blockage of the air inlet and outlet
3.Use a vacuum cleaner to clean if necessary
If the heater still fails to operate, contact your nearest authorised service agent.
Operation
Air is drawn through the slots in the cover of the heater by a tangential fan, blown over heating elements, and then blown out through the bottom louvred grille into the room. The heater is controlled by the pullcord switch.
The heat output is regulated by an internal, step-down, thermostat which will reduce the output from 2200-2400 Watts to 1100-1200 Watts, when a comfortable room temperature is reached. The heat output is shown by the two neon indicators on the front grille:
•One neon glowing: the heater is operating at 1100-1200 Watts
•Two neons glowing: the heater is operating at 2200-2400 Watts
Alternatively the heater can be operated via external wall switches, fitted during installation, which as well as turning the heater on and off can also override the thermostat, acting as a ‘Boost’ switch.
Care
The heater is best wiped down, from time to time, with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaners.
