• This measuring tool is intended for digitally measuring
and defi ning angles from 0° to 220° (horizontal and
vertical)

• Read this instruction manual carefully before use and
save it for future reference 2

USE

• Mounting of battery 3

- use exclusively alkaline-manganese or rechargeable

batteries

- remove cover H

- insert 9V battery (pay attention to correct

polarisation)

- mount cover H

- when battery level is low, symbol J 1 will appear in

display

- when symbol J 1 appears in the display for the fi rst

time, measuring is still possible but with reduced
accuracy; replace the battery

- always remove the battery from the tool, if the tool

will not be used for a long period

• On/off

- switch on/off the tool by pressing “On/Off” button A 1

- after approximately 5 minutes without button
actuation or angle change, the measuring tool
automatically switches off to preserve battery life

• Measuring angles 4

! protect the measuring tool against impact and

shock (dropping or banging the tool may lead to

faulty measurements)

! keep the contact edges of the measuring tool

clean (debris particles may lead to faulty

measurements)

- position base leg F 1 and fold-out leg G 1 against
the edges to be measured

- the reading in display C 1 corresponds with angle X
and remains unchanged until the legs are moved

! when directly projecting a measured angle onto a

workpiece, pay attention that base leg F and fold­out leg G are not moved and that the retaining
(“HOLD”) mode is not switched on

• Retaining measured values

- the current reading can be retained in display C 1 by
pressing “HOLD” button B 1 (symbol K 1 will
appear in display)

- the reading remains unchanged (even when the legs
are moved) until “HOLD” button B is pressed again

! be aware that the retaining mode also

automatically switches off after 5 minutes of
inactivity

APPLICATION ADVICE

• Use “HOLD” button B 1 for defi ning angles at hard-to­reach and/or dark places where measuring and reading
cannot take place simultaneously

• Use bubble level D 1 or E 1 for defi ning angles when
only one reference point is available 5

GUARANTEE / ENVIRONMENT

• Always keep the measuring tool free of dust, moisture
and direct sunlight

• Clean the tool with a dry, soft cloth (do not use cleaning
agents or solvents)

• Always store the tool indoors in its protective carton/
case

• Do not disassemble or modify the tool in any way

• This SKIL product is guaranteed in accordance with
statutory/country-specifi c regulations; damage due to
normal wear and tear, overload or improper handling will
be excluded from the guarantee

• In case of a complaint, send the tool undismantled
together with proof of purchase to your dealer or the
nearest SKIL service-station (addresses are listed on
www.skileurope.com)

accessories and packaging together with household
waste material (only for EU countries)

UTILISATION

• Installation de la pile 3

- utilisez exclusivement des piles alcaline-manganèse
ou des piles rechargeables

- retirez le couvercle H

- insérez la pile de 9 V (respectez les polarités)

- replacez le couvercle H

- quand le niveau de la pile est bas, le symbole J 1
s’affi che

- lorsque l’indication J 1 s’affi che une première fois,
il est encore possible d’effectuer des mesures, mais
avec une précision amoindrie; remplacez la pile

- si vous n’utilisez pas l’outil pendant une longue
période, retirez toujours la pile

• Marche/arrêt

- allumez/éteignez l’outil en appuyant sur le bouton
“On/Off” A 1

- après environ 5 minutes sans utilisation des boutons
ni modifi cation de l’angle, l’appareil de mesure
s’éteint automatiquement pour prolonger la durée de
vie de la pile

• Mesure des angles 4

! protégez l’appareil de mesure contre les impacts

et les chocs (une chute ou un choc peut entraîner

des mesures erronées)

! maintenez les bords de contact de l’appareil de

mesure en bon état de propreté (la présence de

particules de décombres peut entraîner des mesures
erronées)

- positionnez le bras de support F 1 et le bras
escamotable G 1 contre les bords à mesurer

- la valeur affi chée sur l’appareil C 1 correspond à
l’angle X et reste inchangée jusqu’au déplacement
des bras

! lorsque l’angle mesuré est directement projeté

sur une pièce à usiner, veillez à ne pas bouger le
bras de support F et le bras escamotable G, et
assurez-vous que le mode de mémorisation
(“HOLD”) n’est pas activé

• Mémorisation des valeurs mesurées

- la valeur actuelle peut être mémorisée sur l’affi cheur
C 1 en appuyant sur le bouton “HOLD” B 1
(l’indication K 1 apparaît sur l’affi cheur)

- la valeur mesurée reste inchangée (même en cas de
déplacement des bras) jusqu’à ce que vous appuyiez
à nouveau sur le bouton “HOLD” B

! l’outil s’éteint automatiquement après 5 minutes

d’inactivité

CONSEILS D’UTILISATION

• Utilisez le bouton “HOLD” B 1 pour mesurer des
angles dans des emplacements diffi ciles à atteindre et/
ou sombres, dans lesquels il n’est pas possible de
mesurer et de lire la valeur simultanément

• Utilisez le niveau à bulle D 1 ou E 1 pour défi nir les
