SAFETY

• Do not look into the laser beam (laser radiation) 2

• Do not point the laser beam at persons or animals

• Do not place the tool in a position that may cause anyone to look into the laser beam intentionally or unintentionally

• Do not use any magnifying optical tools (such as magnifying glasses, telescopes, or binoculars) to view the laser beam

• Do not remove or damage the warning label on the tool

• Do not operate the tool in the presence of ﬂ ammable liquids, gases or dust

• Do not operate the tool with children around

• This tool should not be used by people under the age of 16 years

• Do not use the tool for any purpose other than those mentioned in this instruction manual

• Only use the original accessories which are intended for this tool

• Always lock the self-leveling system after use

USE

• Mounting of batteries 4

- open cover J

- insert 4 x AA (LR6) / 1,5V batteries (pay attention to

correct polarisation)

- close cover J

- always remove the batteries from the tool, if the tool

is not used for a long period

- replace the batteries when indicator B starts blinking

- always replace the complete set of batteries

• Operating the tool 5

- place the tool in horizontal position (with base-

plate K beneath) on a ﬂ at surface

- unlock the self-leveling system by turning knob M

clockwise into position “ON”

- switch on the tool by pressing button A

- when switching on, light B lights up indicating that

the tool is in the projecting mode

- if the surface inclines more than ± 3º, an acoustic

warning signal indicates that the tool is out of its self-leveling range (rotary head F stops rotating)

- the tool immediately starts projecting a horizontal

line/plane as well as a plumb point on the ceiling

- select desired rotational speed by repeatedly

pressing button C

1) high speed (lower indicator D lights up)

2) medium speed (middle indicator D lights up)

3) low speed (upper indicator D lights up)

- make measurements using the projected line as reference

- switch off the tool by pressing button A

! always lock the self-leveling system after use by

turning knob M counter-clockwise into position “OFF”

! do not look into the laser beam ! do not point the laser beam at persons or animals

• Leveling of tool in vertical position 7

- place the tool in horizontal position (with base-plate K beneath) on a ﬂ at surface

- lock the self-leveling system by turning knob M counter-clockwise into position “OFF”

- place the tool in vertical position (with side-plate L beneath) on a ﬂ at surface

- level the tool by turning adjustment knob N in such a way that the bubble in level E is centered

the tool can be mounted to the wall as illustrated

• Working with receiver 0 For working at a long distance when the laser line is no

longer visible (e.g. outdoors)

- insert 2 x AAA/LR03 batteries (pay attention to correct polarisation)

- maximum working range is 100 (Ø 200) metres

- switch on receiver by pressing button S (middle light T ﬁ rst lights up red and then green while an acoustic signal sounds simultaneously)

- detect laser beam with receiver (ensure that the bubble in level V is centered)

- when green light T lights up and an acoustic signal sounds continuously, the laser beam is received correctly

- when upper red light T lights up and an acoustic signal sounds intermittently, the receiver is positioned too high

- when lower red light T lights up and an acoustic signal sounds intermittently, the receiver is positioned too low

- switch off receiver by pressing button S again (middle light T ﬁ rst lights up green and then red while an acoustic signal sounds simultaneously )

- the receiver automatically switches off after 5 minutes of inactivity

- be aware that the receiver only functions with leveling lasers that thave pulsating laser beams (no line laser beams)

• For using the tool in combination with a tripod (5/8”-11 UNC) !

APPLICATION ADVICE

• Use low rotational speed for increasing the visibility of the laser line (e.g. when ambient light is too bright)

• When using the receiver in combination with an adjustable measuring rod, ﬁ rst mount receiver Q on clamp R as illustrated @

MAINTENANCE / SERVICE

• Do not expose the tool to vibration or extremely hot or cold temperatures

• Always keep the tool free of dust, moisture and direct sunlight

• Do not disassemble or modify the tool in any way

• Do not attempt to change any part of the laser lens

• Always store the tool indoors in its protective bag

• Clean the tool with a damp cloth

• If the tool should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL power tools
