INTRODUCTION

In this user manual, you will find information and advice for using, operating and maintaining Sit & Shower.
Sit & Shower is designed for homecare and inpatient purposes. Sit & Shower is to be used exclusively for assistance during showering, bathing or using a toilet. Sit & Shower is not designed for long periods of sitting.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
Important Safety Instructions appearing in this manual are not meant to cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. Common sense, caution, and care should be exercised when installing, maintaining, or operating the device. ALWAYS contact the manufacturer about problems or conditions you do not understand.
Safety messages will tell you what the potential hazard is, tell you how to reduce the chance of injury, and tell you what can happen if the instructions are not followed.
“WARNING” indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in death or serious injury.
“CAUTION” indicates a hazardous situation which, if not observed properly, may result in serious consequences.
1. Use the device only for its intended use as described in this manual.
2. Install and use the shower chair only indoors, on solid, even, level and non-slippery surfaces.
3. WARNING: Install the device in accordance with these instructions. Use supply wires that are suitable for 75°C (167°F), including the temperature rating of the supply conductors to be used. This unit should be electrically grounded and installed by a licensed contractor, electrician, and plumber. Building materials and wiring should be routed away from the motor/pump or blower or other heat producing components of this unit. A pressure wire connector is provided on the exterior of the motor/pump and heater to permit connection of an No. 8 AWG solid copper bonding conductor between this unit and all other electric equipment and exposed metal in the vicinity, as needed to comply with local requirements.
4. Do not use the device on an incline greater than 5°.
5. WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
6. WARNING: Only allow children to use the appliance without supervision when adequate instructions have been given so that the child is able to use the appliance in a safe way and understands the hazards of improper use.
7. Never drop or insert any object into any opening of the device.
8. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: The device must be connected only to a dedicated electrical supply circuit that is protected by an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB). The ELCB should be tested on a routine basis by the homeowner. To test the ELCB push the test button. The ELCB should interrupt power. Push the RESET button. Power should be restored. If the ELCB fails to operate in this manner there is a ground current fault, indicating the possibility of an electric shock. Do not use the device. Disconnect the power and have the problem corrected by a qualified service electrician. Re-test the ELCB and only when it is operating properly may the device be used.
9. The appliance should be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
10. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: A terminal is provided on the exterior of the pump. To reduce the risk of electric shock, connect this terminal to the grounding terminal of your electric service or supply panel with a conductor equivalent in size to the circuit conductors supplying this equipment. 11. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: It is NOT recommended to use the device whilst lightning, thunderstorm or under any extreme weather conditions.
12. CAUTION: Glowing cigarettes are to be fixed in a conspicuous place beside the toilet. Glowing cigarettes and other burning materials should not be thrown into the toilet.
13. CAUTION: Water temperature in excess of 106°F (42°C) or less than 96.8°F (36°C) may be injurious to your health and harmful to your skin. Check and adjust water temperature before use.
14. CAUTION: Maximum temperature of hot water input should not exceed 55°C.
15. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of infection or injury, please ensure the device is connected to sanitized hot and cold water supplies. Failure to maintain water quality may lead to unhealthy conditions for shower and increase risk of contracting waterborne illnesses and/or respiratory ailments. Poor water quality may also damage the device’s shell and components and the shower chair, which are not covered under the warranty.
16. CAUTION: Showering for too long may be harmful, especially for seniors. It is recommended not to shower for more than 10 minutes.
17. CAUTION: To prevent falling, always wear the seat belt while showering. Whilst using the device the user should remain calmly seated. Excessive movement should be avoided.
18. Sitting down, standing up and moving the patient should be supervised by a qualified care-worker, as to the health condition of the patient. Always use handlebars as a precautionary measure when sitting down or standing up.
19. WARNING: To prevent falling, do NOT lean on the side and foot panels which are not intended to support your body weight. Do NOT lean on the handlebars frame or use them to support your body weight if you find any moving parts in them. Condition checking of the handlebars and frame should be done regularly.
20. CAUTION: Bathroom floor may be slippery, to prevent falling, please be careful when walking in and out of the device. Please make sure the bathroom floor is slip proof.
21. CAUTION: Do not exceed the recommended supporting capacity of the device - 100kg (220lbs).
22. WARNING: To avoid resident infection and contamination of the device, disinfect the device and the shower chair after initial set up and ALWAYS disinfect the device and the shower chair AFTER each use.
23. CAUTION: Do NOT disinfect the device when it is occupied otherwise injury may occur.
24. ALWAYS wear gloves, protective apron, and face shield protection when disinfecting or cleaning the device.
25. ALWAYS handle disinfectants, cleaning compounds, and powdered sanitizers with extreme care. Warranty does not cover physical or mechanical damage caused by improper handling or usage of the device.
26. CAUTION: Do NOT be anywhere near the device during the disinfectant cycle. Doing so could result in skin or eye contact with the disinfectant, which is corrosive. If contact is made, rinse IMMEDIATELY with water. If irritation occurs, consult a physician.
27. WARNING: To prevent residue of sanitizer, DO NOT stop the device during auto­disinfection cycle and please ensure the disinfection cycle is complete.
28. NEVER use abrasive cleaners like scouring powder or liquid cleaners containing pumice stone. The use of these types of cleaners may make the finish of the device scratched and dull. NEVER use cleaners containing concentrated hydrogen peroxide, iodine, bromine, povidone-iodine or methylene blue. The use of these types of cleaners may cause the device to stain. Never use cleaners containing concentrated bleach. Use of these types of cleaners may dry out the rubber seals and gaskets and the tub may not function properly.
29. During assembly, use or cleaning, be careful not to put your fingers between any moving parts.
30. Avoid reaching into the hinges areas to prevent body parts or objects from getting pinched.
31. Do not modify or reconstruct the device or use attachments NOT recommended by the manufacturer.
32. DANGER: If you are or think you may be pregnant, consult your physician before using the device.
33. Whilst the device is being adjusted, the user must be kept away from moving parts.
34. The device should be used with care.
35. Do not operate the device if damaged, malfunctioning, partially disassembled, or if it has missing or broken parts or you suspect it is faulty or broken. Contact your distributor or Automation for Humanity Ltd. directly.
36. Installation, maintenance, and repair should be performed by a qualified installer. Work by unqualified persons could be dangerous and may void the warranty.
37. The appliance is only to be used with the power adaptor unit provided with the appliance.
38. Glowing cigarettes is to be fixed in a conspicuous place beside the toilet. Glowing cigarettes and other burning materials must not be thrown into the toilet.
39. Separate electrical appliances producing steam or humidity are not to be used inside the cabinet.
40. CAUTION: Do not exceed the water pressure range 0.2 – 0.6MPa (2.0-6.0 bar).
41. CAUTION: Do not exceed the cold and hot water supply temperature range Cold water: 5°C (41°F), Hot water: 55°C (131°F)
42. The appliance must only be supplied at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the appliance.

45. The device should be installed above a toilet such that the central hole of the device is aligned with the center of the toilet bowl.
46. To clean the device, please utilize the regular disinfection cycle and follow up with a gentle wash with a mild detergent or disinfecting cleaner.
47. Regular cleaning of the toilet bowl can be done with an L-shaped or curved brush. For more extensive cleaning, please disconnect the power source, turn off the water supply and ensure that the inlet water supply pipes have cooled. Gently pull the device out to clean the toilet and device. After cleaning, first place the device back into its proper position before restarting the water supply and connecting the power source
48. Regular cleaning the appliance is necessary to ensure hygienic conditions
49. Turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power source before cleaning or maintenance.
50. The appliance should connect to water mains with the hose sets which have complied with IEC 61770.

SAFETY PRECAUTION

To prevent damage to human body or property loss, please read through the following instructions before installing Sit & Shower (herein referred as “this product”). Please comply with the following content as damage will be caused if used incorrectly.
This product should be installed by qualified plumber or service agent.

PRECAUTION BEFORE INSTALLATION

CLAIM

Before finishing the installation, please DO NOT plug in or connect to the power socket,
otherwise damage may be caused.
Please ONLY use the components provided in the package for installation.
This product is suitable for water pressures between 0.2MPa ~ 0.6 MPa and water flow larger
or equal to 7 L/min.
If the ground is not level, the device could wobble and may not be secure
