WARNINGS
* If the appliance is fitted with a power supply cord
and plug, the appliance must be installed so these
are easily accessible.
* The use of flammable materials within close
proximity of cooking appliances is not recommended. To avoid potential fire risk, please clean
all grease filters regularly. Please see the maintenance section of this manual for full instructions on
care and cleaning.
USES
This unit is designed to provide suction of
unwanted air, via the use of an external motor

INSTALLATION
Before installing the appliance, any filters should be
removed to avoid damage.
* The distance between the bottom of the cooking
surface and the bottom of the cooker hood must be
a minimum of 650mm for electric cooking, and
700mm for gas.
* The extracted air can’t be conveyed through a duct
used to exhaust fumes from an appliance fed by
energy other than electricity. (e.g. centralized
heating, radiators, water heaters, gas etc).
* Important: Remove all plastic film from the
stainless steel surfaces before using the appliance.
* When installing the appliance, full compliance with
local authority guidelines is required. Failure to do
so can result in loss of property and/or injury to
persons. Your warranty will be void if these
guidelines are not followed.
* Ensure the room has adequate ventilation when
the cooker hood is installed with appliances
powered by alternative fuel sources (gas, oil or
coal), as the hood may generate a negative
pressure in the room. It’s recommended you allow a
constant flow of fresh air within the room to avoid
this pressure build up.
* If the rating label on the cooker hood shows the
symbol the appliance is built in class ii° and it
does not need the earth connection. If the symbol
isn’t visible, then the hood is built in class i° and
does require the earth connection.* When
performing the electrical connections on the
appliance, make sure the power switch is provided
with earth connection and the voltage values
correspond to those indicated on the label inside the
appliance.
* Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance
of the appliance, make sure it’s switched off, and
then disconnect it from the power supply.
Wall fixing: By using the special drilling jig which is
supplied with the hood, perforate the wall according
to the pattern indicated by the jig. Pay attention not
to damage water pipes or electrical wiring etc.

hood in position by inserting and tightening the
safety screws (C) in Diagram 2

Fitting of venting pipe cover: Fix the Y bracket to
the wall and ceiling with appropriate screws .
Diagram 5 to install the cover, fit the cover to the
top of the hood and slide up the inner cover to the
ceiling. Attach screws through sides at top.

INSTALLING EXTERNAL FAN
MOTOR
Types of Installation: To make the installation
easy, the motor can be fixed on the wall, on the
ceiling, or on the floor in a horizontal or vertical
position
The motor can be mounted using the brackets (D)
and screws (C) supplied with the motor.
As per Diagrams 7—8, also supplied are rubber
grommets (B) which are designed to cushion any
vibration from the motor. Screws (A) for mounting
the motor.
Connection of pipes: The motor has 2
connections. An inlet, and an outlet. Before
connecting the pipes, make sure to check the flow
direction to ensure correct performance. This can
be confirmed on a label on the motor.
Try to avoid any tight bends and no more than two
right angle bends to maintain performance of air
extraction.
Electrical connection: There is a cord to connect
the motor to the hood. It’s fitted with a six pin plug
which connects to the top of the hood. (Diagram 9)
There is also an earth lead which can be attached
to any screw on the hood. The length of this cable
is approximately 6.5 meters.
OPERATIONS
A Light switch on/off
B Fan motor on/off 1st level
C 2nd speed level
D 3rd speed level
E 4th speed level
F 10 minute timer
The touch control key allows the desired function to
be selected by touching the relevant key. The
luminous indicator (c) indicates shows fan speed
set. If the timer function has been activated the
corresponding light will flash.
If the touch control malfunctions, remove the grease
filters and press the red button inside the hood
twice. If the power supply to the hood is cut, 15
seconds are required for self diagnostics after the
power supply is restored.
Timer function: By pressing timer button the hood
will run for 10 minutes then shut down, this is ideal
for end of cooking to remove residual fumes.
Motor Level: Only run on a level which is enough
to draw away fumes and steam from cooking.
Beware when boiling water for a long time
condensation may form on the filter surface this is
normal due to steam hitting on a cold surface.
To Replace lamp: Disconnect from power supply.
Remove the glass blocking ring (A) by levering with
a screw driver. This will also remove the glass (B).
Be careful not to drop the glass cover. Now you can
remove the lamp (C). Replace the lamp with the
same kind, being careful to avoid touching the new
lamp with bare hands. Replace the glass and ring.
MAINTENANCE
Removal and cleaning of filters: Pull down the tab
in the middle of the filter. This will release the filter
from the front of the hood. Pull down and release
the filter from the tabs at the back of the hood. You
will now be able to remove filter completely. To
replace the filter, simply reverse these instructions.
Note: This appliance is fitted with a device so that
after 30 hours of working, the two central lights will
flash, indicating you should clean the filters. This
can be reset by pressing the timer button.
We would recommend the filters be cleaned
fortnightly when used in a “Normal” cooking
environment.
To Clean the filters, use warm soapy water or
cleanser specially deigned for this purpose.
To clean hood itself, use tepid water and neutral
detergents. Any abrasive cleaning products should
be avoided. For stainless steel there are specialized
products available which we strongly suggest you
use.
