This document sets out the terms and conditions of product
warranties for Electrolux branded appliances. It is an
important document. Please keep it with your proof of
purchase documents in a safe place for future reference
should you require service for your Electrolux appliance.
General Terms and Conditions
1. In this warranty
(a) 'Electrolux' means Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd
ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Appliances purchased
in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited in respect of
Appliances purc hased in New Zealan d;
(b) ' Appliance' means any Elect rolux pr oduct purc hased by
you accompanied by this document;
(c) 'Warranty Period' means
(i) wh ere you use t he Appliance f or pers onal, d omest ic
or household purposes in Australia the period of
24
months and in New Zealand the period of
24 months;
(ii ) where you use t he Appliance for commer cial
purposes, in Australia the period of
3 months and in
New Zeal and the per iod of
3 months, (if the period
stat ed is
0 months you are not covered by this
product warranty)
follow ing th e date of or iginal purchase of t he Appliance;
(d) 'you' means the pur chas er of t he Appliance not having
purchased the ap plianc e for r e-sal e, and ' your' has a
corresponding meaning.
2. This warranty only applies to Appliances purchased and used
in Australia or New Zealand and is in addition to (and does
not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) any nonexclud able st atutor y warranties in Au str alia or New Zealand.
3. Elect rolux war rant s that , when dispatched from an Elect rolux
warehouse, the Ap plianc e is fr ee from defects in materials
and workmanship for the Warranty Period.
4. D uring the W arr anty P eriod Electr olux or it s Aut horis ed
Service Centre will, at no extra charge if your appliance is
readil y acces sible withou t special equipment , and s ubjec t to
thes e term s and c onditi ons, r epair or replac e any part s whic h
it c onsider s to b e defective. Y ou agree t hat any replac ed
Appliances or part s bec ome the propert y of Elec trolu x. This
warranty does not apply to light globes, batteries, filters or
similar perishable parts.
5. Parts and Appliances not supplied by Electrolux are not
covered by this warranty.
6. W here you are within an Elec trolux service area, this
warr anty covers the c ost of tran sport of the Appliance to and
from Aut horis ed Service Cen tres of Elec trolux and tr avelling
costs f or represen tativ es of t he Aut horis ed Service Cent re to
and from your home or business. If you are outside an
Electrolux service area, you will bear these costs. For
infor mation about wheth er you ar e with in an Elec trol ux
service area, please phone 13 13 49 in Australia, or 0800 10
66 10 in New Zealand.
7. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim
under this warranty.
8. You may not make a c laim under this warranty unless the defect
claimed is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship.
Electrolux is not liable in the following situations (which are not
exhaustive):
(a) The Appliance is damaged by:
(i) accident
(ii) misuse or abus e, including failure to properly maintain or
service
(ii i) normal w ear and t ear
(iv) pow er surges , elec tric al storm damage or inc orrec t power
supply
(v) incomplete or impr oper installation
(vi) incorrec t, i mproper or inappropr iate oper ation
(vii) insect or vermin infes tation.
(b) The Applianc e is mod ified w ithout authority fr om Elect rolux in
writing.
(c) The Appliance's serial number or warranty seal has been
removed or defaced.
(d) The Appliance was servi ced or r epaired by anyone other than
Electrolux or its Author ised S ervic e Centr es.
9. This warranty, t he contract t o which it relates and the relationship
between you an d Electrolux ar e govern ed by the law applicable in
the A ust ralian State w here th e Applian ce was purc hased or the law
applic able in New Z ealand if the App liance w as pur chas ed in New
Zealand. W here th e Applian ce was purc hased in New Zealand for
business purposes the Consumer Guarantee Act does not apply.
Limitation of Liability
10. To the extent permitted by law:
(a) E lectrolux excludes all warran ties ot her t han as contained in
this document;
(b) Electrolux shall not be liable for any loss or damage whether
direct or indirect or consequential arising from your purchase,
use or non-use of the Appliance.
11. Provisions of t he Trad e Practices Act and Stat e consumer
legis lation in Aust ralia, and the Consum er Guar antees Act, the
Sale of G oods Ac t and t he Fair Tradin g Act in New Z ealand, imply
warranties or conditions, or impose obligations, upon Electrolux
which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. To the extent
permitted by law, the liability of Electrolux (if any) aris ing out of or
in rel ation to the App liance or any ser vices suppli ed by Elect rolux
shall be limited (where it is fair and reasonable to do so),:
(a) in the case of App liances , at its opt ion, t o the replacemen t or
repair of the Appliances or the supply of equivalent products or
the p ayment of th e cost of repl acing t he Appliances or having
the Appliances repaired or of acquiring equivalent Appliances.
Upon being replaced, parts and Appliances become the
property of Elect rolux; or
(b) in the case of services, at its option, to the supply of the
services again or t he paymen t of t he cost of havin g the
services re-supplied;
and in t he cas e of App liances or ser vices supplied in N ew Zealand,
loss or damage whether direct or indirect or consequential that is
reasonably for eseeable.
Privacy
You ac knowledge that in th e event t hat you make a war ranty claim it
will be necessary for Electrolux and its Authorised Service Centres to
exchange infor mation in relat ion to you to enable Elec trol ux to meet its
obligations under this warranty.
