1. Check to see that you have all of the following:
One Class A, Style D Circuit Board Assembly (Part #562-900).
One 3-Wire Cable Assembly (Part #733-530).
One lo-Wire Cable Assembly (Part #733-531).
One Ribbon Harness Assembly (Part #733-464).
One Envelope (Part #748-147) containing four 2.25 in. internally-threaded hexagon spacers and four 4-40 x
318 in. screws.
One Envelope (Part #748-l 90) containing four 1 in. externally-threaded hexagon posts.
Note 1: The Class A Circuit Board may be installed alone or in combination with an optional “Transient
Suppressor Board,” an optional “Zone Disconnect Board,” or an optional “Transient Suppressor/Zone
Disconnect Board.”
l
If only the Class A Board is to be installed, follow the procedures in Step 2; if one of the optional
boards listed above is to be installed along with the Class A Board, follow the procedures in Step 3.
2. Proceed as follows:
A. Screw the 2.25 in. spacers onto the four threaded studs in the Fire Alarm Cabinet.
B. Making sure that terminal block TBl is uppermost, align the Class A Board with the spacers. Then, using
the four 4-40 screws, secure the board to the spacers.
C. Making sure the ribbon cable’s blue edge is positioned as shown in Figure 1, plug the ribbon cable onto
Pi of both boards.

D. Making sure that the connector’s red wire is both lowermost and aligns with pin 1, plug the 3-wire cable
into P3 of the Class A Board as shown in Figure 1.
IMPORTANT:
E. As shown in Figure 1, connect the 3-wire cable’s leads to TB2 on the Main F/A PC Board as follows:
l
Black wire to “SIG -” (TB2-6).
l
Red wire to “SIG +” (TB2-5).
l
Gray wire to “AUX -” (TB2-4).
F. To the Class A Board’s terminals, connect the external devices as shown in Figure 4 (see page 4).
G. Apply power to the panel. Then test the system in accordance with the directions in the Instruction Manual.
3. Proceed as follows:
A. Screw the 2.25 in. spacers onto the four threaded studs in the Fire Alarm Cabinet.
B. Making sure that terminal block TBl is up, align the Class A Board with the spacers. Then, using the hex
posts, secure the board to the spacers.
C. Making sure that the connector’s red wire is both lowermost and aligns with pin 1, plug the 3-wire cable
into P3 of the Class A Board as shown in Figure 1.
IMPORTANT: Failure to properly align the 3-wire cable’s connector to the pins can result in system
