What is a Wall Decal?
Wall decals are a beautiful way to transform your walls into picturesque scenery that complements
any room. Wall Decals are made from a thin self-adhesive vinyl that are transferred on to your wall
using a transfer paper. Once they are on your wall, they look like a perfectly painted design. Simple
Shapes offers self-adhering vinyl wall decals that are thin, durable and easy to apply. You don't have
to be a pro to apply our wall decals but your walls will look like you hired one to redecorate your
room!
What is a Wall Sticker?
Simple Shapes Wall Stickers are peel and stick fabric stickers. They are super easy to install and
move around if needed. They don't curl at the edges like most other wall stickers that you find online
since they are made out of a semi-stretchable fabric.
What is the difference between a Wall Decal and Wall Sticker?
One main difference is the material that they are made from. Wall Decals are a cut vinyl so they are
super thin! When you put them on your wall, they look like beautiful painted designs! Simple Shapes
Wall Stickers are a thicker cut fabric material but look just as beautiful. The other main difference
between the two is the method of how they are made. Since Wall Decals are a cut vinyl, we do not
"print" the designs. Rather we "cut" them out and in some cases, layer different colored vinyl to make
our unique designs. You will notice our Wall Decal designs are simpler and more silhouette like. With
Wall Stickers, we print and then cut out the designs. This means with a Wall Sticker, we can print
and cut almost any graphic.
What is Peel and Stick Wallpaper?
We like to call our Wallpaper, “Easy Wallpaper”. Have you tried installing traditional wallpaper? If you
have, it’s probably not easy to forget. Messy and difficult. Did we mention Messy? With the
introduction of Simple Shapes Wallpaper, you can forget about those old memories. Our Peel and
Stick Wallpaper is EASY. Just Peel and Stick! If you know how to use contact paper, you most likely
can handle installing our wallpaper. Simple Shapes Peel and Stick wallpaper is made from a fine
polyester weave fabric with an adhesive backing. Compare it to other wallpaper, and you will see
how its textured heavyweight material gives off a high end lavish feeling.
Are your products Removable?
Yes all Simple Shapes Wall Decals, Wall Stickers and Peel and Stick Wallpaper are removable. Our
products only use removable self-adhesive, however because all walls are not created (or painted)
equally, special care must be taken to prevent paint from being pulled off the wall during removal.
For Wall Decals, we suggest that you heat up the decal with a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive
before pulling it off the wall. Heat as you go. Also, always pull in parallel to the wall (down and away
NOT out and away). For Peel and Stick Wallpaper, you can pull the sheets down and off the wall
slowly. Take your time for the best results.
Are your products Reusable?
Simple Shapes Wall Decals are NOT reusable. As with any vinyl decal product, although you can
remove it safely from your wall, most likely it will stretch and tear making it unusable once it’s
completely off the wall. If you have managed to get an entire piece of vinyl off the wall in a perfect
upstretched condition, please contact us because we want to hire YOU! Simple Shapes Peel and
Stick Wallpaper and Wall Stickers on the other hand are reusable to a certain extent. The adhesive
is more forgiving so you can peel the sheet off the wall to re-align it during installation. However,
please keep in mind that just like any sticker (insert childhood memory here), the more you play
around with it, the less “sticky” it will get as it picks up dust from the wall.
What is the lifespan of your wall decals and wallpaper?
Once you install our wall decals and/or wallpaper, they will stay on your wall until you are ready to
take them down. The adhesive is a removable adhesive that the manufacturer states will be
removable for up to 3 years. This means that after three years, the adhesive may be a little harder to
remove from the wall without peeling off some paint. Of course by then your wall will probably need
a fresh coat of paint to clean up the everyday nicks and chips it has gotten.
Will your products stick to my textured walls?
Well that is a loaded question. First in order to answer this, we need to know what you call
“textured”.
Texture like this?
Probably Yes.
Texture like this or something in between ?
For any wall with moderate to heavy texture, it means that possibly 50% of the wallpaper or decal
adhesive has nothing to stick to.
*** If you have moderate to heavy textured walls, you will need to either sand the texture or
apply a skim coat to flatten it out.
Once you flatten the texture out, you can primer the wall with ROMAN PRO-935 (click here) You
can find this on Amazon.com or at some local Home Improvement Stores such as Home Depot.

Will your products stick to my Low-Voc, No-Voc, or Stain Resistant Painted walls?
These days, we’ve noticed that our products stick to any SMOOTH wall just as long as it is NOT
painted with a specialty “non-staining” , “stain resistant”, or “stain blocking” paint. If your walls are
painted with low or no VOC paint, we have included specific instructions with your order on how to
prepare your wall by cleaning it with a alcohol/water mixture. If your paints’ selling point is its stain
resistance, then that means that stains, stickers, WALLPAPER and almost everything you can
imagine WILL NOT stick to it. Now that being said, we still get a few (but rare) customers where our
wallpaper does not stick well to their walls. In those cases we’ve found that the problem is with the
specific paint finish/model/color. Luckily there is a way to make our products work on your specialty
painted walls! You can use this primer: ROMAN PRO-935 (click here) and wallpaper over the
applied primer.

If you haven't painted your wall yet please choose a flat or matte sheen.
Can I use your products in my Bathroom?
Our wall decals and wallpaper can be used in a bathroom but NOT in areas where there will be
constant direct water contact (ie. inside the shower/tub) unless you plan to seal it with a clear coat.
While humid conditions are okay, it’s always a good idea to keep a room well ventilated by opening
up a window or turning on the fan.
Can I use your products as a Kitchen Backsplash?
Yes!, As of January 7, 2019, ALL of our wallpaper and wall murals can be used as a backsplash and
can be wiped down easily using a non abrasive, mild cleaner and soft cloth.
How many wallpaper sheets do I need to order for my wall?
We have a calculator located on each Wallpaper and Wall Mural product page that will help you
calculate the number of sheets you need. All you need to do is choose the design you are interested
in, go to the item product page and above the "Add to Cart" button you will see a link for "Wallpaper
Size Calculator". Click the link and you will need to input your wall size to get an accurate estimate of
sheets and sizes needed.

I haven’t painted my walls yet, what is the best paint to use?
Our Wall Decals and Wallpaper work on all brands of paints. If you asked for a recommendation, we
would go with a basic Benjamin Moore paint (NOT REGAL SELECT < This is a Stain Blocking Paint)
in a flat or matte sheen. Just because we almost never have issues with Benjamin Moore Flat and
Matte paints.
***If you have bare drywall and plan to use our peel and stick wallpaper or wall mural, we
recommend using ROMAN PRO-935 (click here).
How long should I wait before installing my wall decal or wallpaper?
Please wait 30 days before applying to freshly painted walls. The sign industry concerning peel
and stick material has reached a general consensus on this. Regardless of which wallpaper/mural
vendor you choose, you need to wait 30 days to let the walls off gas before trying to stick anything to
the walls. For walls that have not yet been painted , you can use Roman Wallpaper Pro-935
Wallpaper primer which allows you to install wallpaper after 24 hours.
How I should prepare my wall before installing your Wall Decal, Wall Sticker or Wallpaper?
If your wall or surface is painted, dry and ready, there are just a few more steps you can take to
make for an optimal installation experience. First, wipe down your walls. If the paint used was a NoVOC or Low-VOC paint, then use a mixture of 70% rubbing alcohol and 30% water and spray it onto
a clean lint free towel and wipe the wall thoroughly. Wait about 15 minutes for the wall to dry. If you
used standard paint you can use just water to wipe the walls. While you are waiting for the wall to
dry, put your hand on the wall. Is the wall room temperature or is it cold? Wall decals and Wall
Stickers do not like cold walls. Wallpaper will be okay, but if you are installing wall decals or stickers,
turn up the heat and wait until the walls are not cold to the touch. Finally, wash and dry your hands.
Clean and dry hands are the most important tools you need!

How do I install my Peel and Stick Wallpaper/Wall Mural/Wall Sticker? Do I need a wallpaper
installer?
Installing our Peel and Stick Wallpaper is super easy! Just Peel off the backing and Stick! You can
hire an installer, but we highly recommend you try it. You will gain a sense of accomplishment

How do I clean my Wall Decal?
Our Wall Decals can be wiped down with damp cloth or sponge. Warm soapy water is best! We do
not recommend using harsh chemical cleaners or anything of that sort.
How do I clean my Peel & stick Wallpaper/Wall Mural/Wall Sticker?
Our latest wallpaper, wall murals, and wall stickers use UV cured printing technology making them
very durable. You can wipe them down with a wet cloth with water or very mild cleaner. Please
note, if using a chemical cleaner, make sure you test in an inconspicuous spot as we cannot
guarantee durability with all of the various cleaning products available.
How do I remove my Wall Decal?
Removing a Wall Decal from the wall takes just a little bit of TLC and patience! We recommend preheating the decal using a hair dryer. It will soften up the decal and adhesive. Then you can slowly
start to pull the decal off the wall. Please pull downward and parallel to the wall. Not up and away!
This will prevent the paint from chipping. If you feel that you have to use a lot of force to pull the
decal off, heat up the decal more as you pull down.
How do I remove my Peel & stick Wallpaper/Wall Mural/Wall Sticker?
Our Wallpaper/Wall Mural/Wall Stickers can be removed just by pulling an edge and pulling slowly
down on the wall. Slow and steady is the key!
