IMPORTANT
– Make sure that there are no liquids or inflammable materials in the immediate vicinity of the boiler.
– Make sure that the electrical connections have been made correctly and that the earth wire is connected to a
good earthing system.
– Open the gas tap and check the soundness of the connections, including that of the burner.
– Make sure that the boiler is set for operation for the type of gas supplied.
– Check that the flue pipe for the outlet of the products of the combustion is unobstructed and has been properly
installed.
– Make sure that any shutof f valves are open.
– Make sure that the system is charged with water and is thoroughly vented.
– Check that the circulating pump is not locked.
– Purge the system, bleeding off the air present in the gas pipe by operating the pressure relief valve on the gas
valve inlet.
– The installer must provide the user with instruction in operation of the boiler and safety devices and hand over the
instruction booklet to the user.
FONDERIE SIME S.p.A. of Via Garbo 27 - Legnago (VR) - Italy declares that its hot water boilers, which bear the CE mark under Gas Dir ective 90/396/CEE and are fitted with a safety ther mostat calibrated to a maximum of 110°C, are not subject to application of PED Directive 97/23/CEE as they meet the requirements of article 1 paragraph 3.6 of the Directive.

2.1 INSTALLATION
-
In the rooms where “type B” boiler s are i n s t a l l e d , t h e a i r r e q u i r e d f o r c o r r e c t c o m b u stion of the gas consumed by th e appliance must be able to flow in. .
- “Type C” a pp l i a n c e s , w i t h c o m b u s t i o n chamber and air supply sealed of f fr o m the environment, can be inst alled in any room in the house.
- “Type B and C” b oilers ar e suitabl e fo r functioning in a partially prot ected place, as according to EN 297, with maximum environmental temperature of 60°C and minimum of -5°C. We recommend installation of these boilers under the protruding slope of a roof, on a balcony, or in a p r o t e c t e d n i c h e , a l w a y s p r o v i d i n g t h e y a r e n o t d i r e c t l y e x p o s e d t o a d v e r s e weather (rain, hail, snow). The boilers are provided already equipped with anti-freeze functions.
2.1.1 Anti-freeze function
T h e b o i l e r s a r e e q u i p p e d w i t h a n t i - f r e e z e function which activates the pumps and the burner when the temperature of the water c o n t a i n e d i n s i d e t h e a p p l i a n c e d r o p s t o below 6°C. The anti-freeze function is ensured, however, only if:
- the boiler is correctly connected to the
gas and electricity supply circuits;
- the boiler is constantly fed;
- the boiler ignition is not blocked;
- the essential components of the
boiler are all in working order In these condition s the boiler is prot e c te d a g a i n s t f r o s t d o w n t o a n e n v i r o n m e n t a l temperature of -5°C.
ATTENTION: In the case of installation in a place where the temperature drops below 0°C, the connection pipes must be protected.

2.3 CONNECTING UP SYSTEM
To prot ect the heat system from damaging c o rrosion, incru station or deposits, befo re i n s t a l l a t i o n i t i s e x t r e m e l y i m p o r t a n t t o clean t he sys tem using su itable p ro d u c t s s u c h a s , f o r e x a m p l e , S e n t i n e l X 3 0 0 o r X400. Comp l ete inst ructions are prov i d e d with the products but, for further informat i o n , y o u m a y d i r e c t l y c o n t a c t S E N T I N E L PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS LTD. For long-te rm p rotection again s corro s i o n and deposits, the use of inhibitors such as Sentinel X100 is recommended after cleaning th e syst em. It is i mp o rtant t o ch e ck the concentration of the inhibitor afte r each system modification and during maint e n a n c e f o l l o w i n g t h e m a n u f a c t u r e r ’ s instructions (specific tests are available at your dealer). The safety valve drain must be c o n n e c t ed to a collection funnel to collect any di sch a rge dur ing int e r vention s. If th e heating system is on a higher floor t han the boiler, install the on/off taps supplied in kit o ptional on t he heating syste m delivery/return pipes.
WA R N I NG: F a i l u re t o c l ea n th e heat system or add an adequate inhibitor invalidates the device’s
warranty.
Gas connections must be made in accor-
dance with cur rent sta n d a rds and r e g u l ations. When dimensioni ng gas pipes fr o m the meter to t he module, both capacity volume (consu mption) in m

The sections of the piping making up the system must be such as to guarantee a supply of gas sufficient to cover the maxim u m d e m a n d , l i m i t i n g p r e s s u r e l o s s between the gas met er and any apparatus being used to not greater than: – 1.0 mbar for family II gases (natural gas); – 2.0 mbar f or fa m i ly III gases (butane or
propane).
An adhesive data plate is sticked inside the front panel; it contains all the technical data identifying the boiler and the type of gas for which the boiler is arranged.
2.3.1 Filter on the gas pipe
The gas valve is supplied ex factory with an inlet filter, which, however, is not adequate to entrap all the impurities in the gas or in gas main pipes. To prevent malfunctioning of the valve, or in certain cases even to cut out the safety device with which the valve is equipped, install an adequate filter on the gas pipe.
2.5 SYSTEM FILLING
Filling of the boiler and the system is done by the charge cock (2 fig. 4). The charge pressure, with the sys tem cold, must be between 1 and 1.5 bar. During system filling you are recommended to keep t he main switch turned OFF. Filling must be done slowly so as to allow any air bubbles to be

Use the drain tap to empty the system (9 fig. 4). Turn off the boiler before doing this.
2.6 FLUES/CHIMNEYS
A chimney or flue for the e vacuation of the c o m b u stion products into t he atmosphere must correspond to the requisites prescribed by the laws in force. 2.8 INSTALLATION OF SEPARATE DUCTS (versions “BF - BFT”)
When installing, the provisions of the law s in force must be adhered to, as well as certain practical suggestions:
– Wi th aspiration dire c t ly fr om outside,
when the duct is longer than 1 metre, it is advisable to insulate the said duct in o r der to avoid th e fo r mation of dew on the outside of the pipe when the weather
is particularly cold.

– Turn the air intake vent upside down and
replace the gasket (5) with that supplied in the kit code 8089904;
– Insert the aspiration diaphragm supplied
in t he kit code 80899 04, pushing it home;
Only for versions "20 BFT” fit onto the
diaphragm the plastic reducer supplied together with the boiler.
Now the extension or the curve can be fitted into the special seat in order to complete the aspiration pipe (no washer or sealant is necessary).

IMPORTANT: In type C52 the outlet and inlet flues must not come out on opposite walls.
ATTENTION: The three seats foreseen on the diaphragm allow for fitting the air intake vent in only one position (the enumeration of th e sectors faces inwards).

CONFIGURATION C62: discharge and aspiration is by means of pipes available on sale and certified separately (the pressure loss in the ducts must be calculated according to the St andard UNI EN 13394)
In vers. “20 BFT” fit the plastic reducer supplied with the boiler in the position indicated.
