Important Safeguards
The following basic safety precautions should always be followed when using your SilverOnyx pressure cooker.
Please read all instructions before operation.
1. DO NOT leave the pressure cooker unattended while in operation.
2. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs only.
3. DO NOT allow children to operate under any circumstance. Close supervision is necessary when the pressure cooker is used near children.
4. DO NOT place the pressure cooker in a heated oven. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner.
5. Use extreme caution when moving a pressure cooker containing hot liquids.
6. DO NOT use pressure cooker for anything other than its intended use.
7. DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids.
8. This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in serious injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating.
9. DO NOT ll the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during
cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not ll the unit over 1/2 full. Over-lling may increase the risk of clogging the vent pipe resulting in
excessive pressure in unit. Failure to follow this procedure can cause damage
to the unit and/or result in injury to person(s).
10. Be aware that certain foods (such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, some cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, etc.) can foam, froth, sputter, and clog the pressure release vent. These foods should not be cooked in a pressure cooker.
11. Check the pressure release vent and remove any obstructions before use.
12. DO NOT open the pressure cooker until the unit has cooled and all internal
pressure has been released. If the handles are difcult to push apart, this
indicates that the cooker is still pressurized. DO NOT force it open. Any pressure in the cooker can be hazardous. See Operating Instructions.
13. DO NOT use this pressure cooker for pressure frying with oil.
14. DO NOT place the product near ammable materials.
15. DO NOT damage the Rubber Seal Ring and DO NOT replace it with anything other than a replacement designated for this unit.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
16. DO NOT tamper with the Steel Ring in the Lid. If the Steel Ring is damaged, please stop using immediately and replace the Lid.
17. Clean the Filter regularly.
18. NEVER use additional weight on the Pressure Limiting Valve or replace the Pressure Limiting Valve with anything not intended for use with this unit.
19. The surface of contact between the Inner Pot and the Electronic Heater should always be clean. DO NOT use the Inner Pot with other heating sources. DO NOT replace the Inner Pot with another container.
20. Food should not be kept warm (between 40° F and 140° F) for more than 4 hours. The pressure cooker should not be used for more than 6 hours
continuously to prevent damage to the product and/or injury.
21. If steam releases around the Lid during the cooking process, unplug from the power supply immediately, let the pressure cooker cool, remove contents, and return the product to the manufacturer for exchange or repair.
22. If the Pressure Discharging Device has activated, this is a safeguard to alert the user that the Pressure Limiting Device is malfunctioning.
23. If there is any malfunction of the cooker during the cooking process, stop using the device immediately and return it for repair or exchange.
24. DO NOT allow the cord to hang off the edge of tables or counters. DO NOT allow the cord to touch hot surfaces.
25. Unplug the cord from the power outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before disassembly or reassembly.
26. DO NOT operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug. DO NOT operate the pressure cooker if it malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
27. Any servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Take it to a qualied technician for examination or repair. DO NOT
disassemble the product, or repair with parts not intended for this unit.
28. Always attach plug to appliance rst, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, press “Cancel” then remove plug from power outlet.
29. DO NOT use outdoors.
30. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.

This product is to be used in DRY INDOOR environments only and is NOT intended for commercial use.
All parts and accessories for this appliance must be used properly according to these instructions. All parts and accessories must be the original provided by the manufacturer. All other parts or accessories not intended for use with this appliance are strictly prohibited.
The use of an extension cord, power adapter, or other electric devices with this product are strongly discouraged.
NOTE: A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If an extension cord is used: (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the product; (2) the extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can unintentionally be pulled on or tripped over by children or pets.
LED ERROR INDICATOR:
If any of the below error codes appear on the pressure cooker display reset the unit by unplugging the power cord and retrying again after 10 minutes. If the error code remains discontinue use and contact the manufacturer.

MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS
• Features multiple functions for cooking, stewing, braising, and simmering.
• Cook food automatically by selecting preset menu functions on the unit.
• The SilverOnyx pressure cooker also has its own memory. During short interruptions (such as a power outage) the unit will automatically renew the cooking cycle where the unit left off when the power resumes.
RAPID COOKING
By using high pressure and high temperature, food cooks much more quickly. This not only reduces cooking time, but also conserves power. For example: when cooking rice, this pressure cooker saves up to 20% of the electricity (and up to 15% of the time) in comparison to conventional rice cookers. When cooking stew, soups or braising meats, this pressure cooker saves up to 40% of the cooking time (and up to 45% of the power) in comparison to a conventional slow cooker. Pressure cooking can also be done at high altitudes.

PARTS IDENTIFICATION
RUBBER SEAL RING ASSEMBLY
Always ensure the Rubber Seal Ring (18) is properly and securely
tted onto the metal ring in the
interior of the Lid (2). The Rubber Seal Ring (18) should be placed
into the Lid (2) by tting it around
the outer part of the entire metal ring making sure that the crease in the Rubber Seal Ring (18) meets with the metal ring all the way around.
PRESSURE COOKER LID MARKINGS
Please note the “OPEN” and “CLOSE” markings on the rim of the pressure cooker body (13) and the “▼” on the rim of the Lid (2). To properly close and secure the pressure cooker Lid (2), always line up the “CLOSE” marking on the Upper Ring (9) and the “” on the rim of the Lid (2).
CONDENSATION CUP ASSEMBLY
The Condensation Cup (12) is the clear plastic piece that snaps into the back side of the pressure cooker as shown on the right. Place condensation cup (12) in rear of the unit until it locks into place.
PRESSURE LIMITING VALVE WARNING WARNING: Avoid serious injury. Always use
tongs or a long kitchen tool to set the valve to Venting.
CAUTION HOT STEAM: KEEP HANDS AND FACE AWAY FROM THE PRESSURE LIMITING VALVE WHEN ROTATING TO VENTING.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Before First Use
1. Remove all packaging materials and discard appropriately.
2. Clean all the parts by wiping with a soft damp cloth or sponge and dry thoroughly.
3. Thoroughly clean the cooking pot in the dishwasher or with warm soapy water. Rinse, dry, and place in the pressure cooker.
LID ASSEMBLY:
1. How to open the lid: Hold
the handle (1) rmly while
pushing down on the red lid release button (22), turn the lid (2) counter-clockwise until it loosens and lift vertically; the lid (2) can stand on the Lid Rest (20).
Note: For new units, the seal of the Lid (2) may be slightly stronger than
normal and may be slightly difcult to unlock. Once the Lid (2) has been
opened and closed several times, it will loosen up.
2. How to close the lid:
Observe the Rubber Seal Ring (18) inside the Lid (2)
and ensure that it is tted
onto the lid all the way around.
Caution: If the rubber seal ring is damaged, do not use the pressure cooker. Contact Customer Service to repair or replace.
To lock Lid (2) in place, remove any food residue from rim of Upper Ring (9) of cooking pot to ensure a proper seal. Take the Lid (2) off the Lid Rest (20), hold the Handle (1) and close it downwards at the Opened Lid position. Turn clockwise until you reach the Closed Lid position (a clamping sound can be heard).
Note: To ensure you are properly closing the lid (2), line up the OPEN and CLOSE markings on the Lid (2) and Main Body (13).

WATER TEST
For the rst use, to ensure correct assembly of the Rubber Seal Ring (18), it is recommended to read the following instructions and ll the Inner Pot (6) with
water to the line and run any pressure cooking program for 30 minutes. Once completed, pour out the water. Rinse and towel dry the Inner Pot (6). The pressure cooker is now ready for use.
LID SAFETY LOCK SYSTEM
*Note: This unit has a built-in safety feature that prevents all functions from activating if the Lid (2) is not properly locked in place. A cooking function cannot be selected if the Lid (2) is not properly secured in place. The display will show “LID” and continuously beep until the Lid (2) is properly closed. You will not be able to select a cooking function. This is to prevent the unit from cooking without the lid being properly secured. The Sauté function will still work as this function does not use the Lid (2).

COOKING POT MARKINGS
Inside the removable cooking pot are two sets of markings. One side is marked “MAX PRESSURE COOK”, which indicates the maximum ll line when cooking any food other than rice. The other marking is MAX RICE CUP and is used when cooking rice.
1. Open lid, remove cooking pot from pressure
cooker and add food and liquids.
NOTE: The total volume of food and liquid must not exceed of the capacity of the cooking pot. For foods such as dried vegetables and beans, or rice and grains, the total volume must not exceed ½ the capacity.
Overlling may clog the pressure limiting
valve, which can cause excess pressure to build up. Always use at least ½ cup liquid when pressure cooking.
WARNING: To avoid a serious burn injury when cooking foods other than rice, never exceed the MAX PRESSURE COOK mark of the combined volume of liquids and solids.
2. Be certain the inner receptacle, where the heating plate
(14) is located, is clean and dry before inserting the Inner Pot (6) into the pressure cooker and adjust the pot left and right to ensure optimal contact between the Inner Pot and the heating plate (14).
3. Close and “LOCK” the lid.
4. Adjust the Pressure Limiting Valve (3) to the “Sealing”
position, and ensure that the Float Valve (4) sinks.
5. When adjusting the Pressure Limiting Valve (3) to either
the “Sealing” or the “Venting” positions, line up the marking on the Pressure Limiting Valve (3) with the arrow on the Handle (1).
6. Plug the power cord into the pressure cooker and then into the wall
outlet. The LED display will show “OFF”.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
With the lid securely locked in place and the LED display on, select the button for the desired cooking function by reading the following instructions.
There are 11 Menu functions programmed for your pressure cooker. They are
Soup, Meat/Stew, Bean/Chili, Chicken, Rice, Grains, Oatmeal, Steam, Sauté, Yogurt,
and Slow Cook. The default times are programmed for quick and easy cooking for small portions of food less than 3 lbs. When cooking food that is more than 3 lbs. Use the Custom Manual function. Each of the default times is programmed to detect the weight of food being cooked and how much liquid is inside the pot during the cooking cycle. The unit will automatically build up the pressure, cook the food, and switch to Keep Warm when cooking is complete.

AFTER SELECTING A MENU BUTTON
1. The Default Cook Time will display for the selected setting. For example, if Rice is selected, the display will show P12. (You can adjust your pressure
cooking time by pressing the “+/-” buttons according to the amount of the
food in the inner pot and your preferences.) No need to press any other button.
NOTE: If you select the Yogurt or Slow Cook functions, the “+/-” buttons will
adjust the cooking time up/down 30 minutes for each time the button is
pressed.
2. The Rice Indicator will blink ve times and the unit will begin heating.
3. The raised Float Valve (4) indicates you are cooking under pressure. The lid is now locked and cannot be opened. YOU SHOULD NEVER ATTEMPT TO OPEN
THE LID WHILE PRESSURE COOKING.
AFTER SELECTING ADJUST
1. The Adjust button is used in combination with the Menu buttons.
2. There are three working modes programmed in the unit (Less, Normal, More), the default working mode is Normal, the “Adjust” button toggles the model setting between More, Less, and Normal for the cooking functions.
3. Using Rice as an example, rst press the Rice button and quickly press the Adjust button once, the More indicator lights up and the LED shows P15, press the Adjust button twice and the Less indicator lights up while the LED shows P8.
4. The Indicator will blink ve times and the unit will begin heating.

AFTER SELECTING PRESSURE
1. The PRESSURE button is used in combination with the Menu buttons.
2. The default working pressure is High pressure. The “PRESSURE” button toggles
the pressure setting between “High Pressure” 7.2~9.5 psi (50~65 kPa) and “Low Pressure” 4.3~6.6 psi (30~45 kPa) for the pressure cooking functions.
3. Using Rice as an example, rst press the Rice button and set the pressure
cooking time, the Rice indicator and High Pressure indicator will blink, press the PRESSURE button once, the Low Pressure indicator will light up and blink.
4. The Indicator will blink ve times and the unit will begin heating.
AUTOMATIC KEEP WARM FEATURE
When cooking has completed (except when using the Yogurt function), the pressure cooker will beep and automatically switch to the Keep Warm function. The Keep Warm indicator light will illuminate and the display will show “bb.”
NOTE: The Keep Warm setting should not be used for more than 4 hours. The quality and texture of food will begin to change after 1 hour on Keep Warm. Some condensation in the upper ring is normal. To set the cooker to Keep Warm, press and hold the Warm button until the display shows “bb.”
TO RESET OR CANCEL
You can reset or cancel any function at any time by pressing the Keep Warm/
Cancel button until the display shows “00 00”.

REMOVING THE LID AFTER PRESSURE COOKING
When the pressure cooking cycle has completed, the unit will automatically switch to Keep Warm. At this point you may release pressure in one of two ways ­Natural Pressure Release or Quick Pressure Release.
Natural Release: After pressure cooking, allow the unit to remain on Keep Warm. The pressure will begin to drop – the time it takes for pressure to drop depends on the amount of liquid in the cooker and the length of time that pressure was maintained. Natural Release can take 15 to 30 minutes.
During this time cooking continues so it is recommended for certain cuts of meats, soups, rice, and some desserts. When pressure has fully released, the Float Valve (4) will drop and the lid will unlock to open. As a safety feature, the lid will not open unless all pressure is released. Do not force the lid open. If the lid feels tight, please allow additional time for the pressure to fully release before attempting to open the lid.
Quick Release (recommended for foods that should be Medium or Medium-Rare): Following pressure cooking the cooker will beep 3 times and go to keep Warm.
Press the keep Warm/Cancel button and the display will show “00 00.” Carefully
turn the Pressure Limiting Valve (3) to the “Venting” position to release pressure until the Float Valve (4) drops.
NOTE: You cannot adjust the Pressure Limiting Valve to the “Venting” position immediately after cooking, when using functions such as porridge or soup. It is IMPORTANT that the Float Valve (5) sinks before you try to open the lid.

HOW TO USE THE MANUAL FUNCTION:
Setting your own cook time is ideal for cooking meat or poultry that weighs more than 3 pounds. It is also suggested for slow-cooking certain recipes that require cooking for more than 30 minutes. The programmed cook time for the Manual function can be set up to 99 minutes.
1. Prepare food and place into cooking pot.
2. Secure the Lid (2) onto the unit, turn it clockwise to lock it in place properly.
3. Make sure the Pressure Limiting Valve (3) is set to the “Sealing” position.
4. Plug the power cord into a 120V power outlet.
5. The LED screen will display “00 00.”
6. Press the MANUAL button, then press the “+” button to the desired time frame. Each incremental press of the button increases the cooking time by 1 minute. Hold the button down to increase the cooking time more quickly. (EX: If you set the cook time to 60-minutes, the LED screen will display P 60). You can decrease the cook time by pressing the “-” button.
7. The Indicator will blink ve times and the unit will begin heating.
HOW TO USE THE SAUTÉ FUNCTION
This setting allows cooking over high heat (without the lid) before pressure
cooking. Before pressure cooking, some recipes will direct you to brown/sauté
some of your ingredients in your pressure cooker.
To Sauté your meats or vegetables prior to pressure cooking:
1. Remove the Lid (2) from the unit.
2. Press the SAUTÉ button. You can press the adjust button to set the cooking time. There is no need to press any other button.
3. Add oil or butter as directed in your recipe and then place your ingredients into the Inner Pot.
4. Stir food as needed.
5. Press the KEEP WARM/CANCEL button if you need to cancel the SAUTÉ
function before the timer nishes counting down.
Allow the unit to rest 2-3 minutes after canceling the SAUTÉ function before beginning to pressure cook. If the unit will not begin pressure cooking, allow it to cool for a longer period after SAUTÉING before selecting another function.

HOW TO USE THE DELAY FUNCTION:
If you wish to program your pressure cooker to automatically cook prepared food later, you can delay cooking by up to 24 hours.
CAUTION: It is not recommended to use the DELAY function to cook foods that may spoil. Leaving raw foods inside the pressure cooker for long periods of time prior to cooking may result in the food spoiling. Use this function to cook food that can be left out – such as rice, beans, grains or other foods that will not spoil.
This setting is used in combination with the menu functions and the Manual setting function.
1. Prepare desired food and place into cooking pot.
2. Secure the Lid (2) onto the unit and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.
3. Make sure the Pressure Limiting Valve (3) is set to the “Sealing” position.
4. Plug the power cord into a 120V power outlet.
5. The LED screen will display “00 00.”
6. Press the DELAY button. The LED screen will show 0:30 which is equal to 30 minutes of delay time. Press the DELAY button again to set your delay time for each additional ½ hour or hold DELAY to increase the delay time more quickly. The maximum Delay period is 24-hours. (The time that displays on the LED screen shows how long the unit will wait before the cooking process begins. For example, if you wish to program the pressure cooker to automatically turn on in 3-hours, press the DELAY button until the LED screen displays 3:00).
7. After programming your Delay time, select a menu function. Select one of the menu buttons except the Sauté function.
8. Follow the instructions under “AFTER SELECTING A MENU BUTTON.”
9. Once the pressure cooker completes its countdown, the unit will begin operation of the cooking sequence for the chosen selection.
10. After the cooking sequence is complete, follow instructions under the
“REMOVING THE LID AFTER PRESSURE COOKING” section to nish the
cooking process.

Safety Features
There are ten safety devices built into your pressure cooker:
1. Lid Safety Lock System: the lid cannot be opened if the button is not pressed and held.
2. Lid Safety Switch: the pressure cooker will not function if lid is not properly secured into place.
3. Open-and-Close Lid Safety Device: the lid cannot be opened if the appliance is lled
with pressure.
4. Thermal Fuse: the thermal fuse will break the circuit if the pressure cooker reaches the maximum allowable temperature.
5. Pressure Limiting Valve: the pressure limiting valve will release air automatically
when the pressure inside exceeds the preset temperature. NOTE: Overlling the
pressure cooker (see Instructions for Use) may clog the pressure limiting valve, which can cause excess pressure to build up.
6. Pressure Relief Device: when the cooker reaches the maximum allowable pressure and temperature, the cooking pot will move down until the lid separates from the sealing ring, releasing air pressure.
7. Anti-Block Cover: prevents food material from blocking the pressure limiting valve (3).
8. Automatic Temperature Control: the power will auto-shut-off if the cooking pot
overheats, or if the pressure cooker is heating without enough liquid inside.
9. High Temperature Warning: a high temperature warning will be displayed on the control panel.
10. Pressure Control Device: the correct pressure level is automatically maintained during cooking cycle.
CLEANING YOUR PRESSURE COOKER

Cleaning Your Pressure Cooker
1. Always make sure the Pressure Cooker is unplugged, depressurized, and completely cooled down before dismantling.
2. Use a non-abrasive sponge or damp wash cloth to clean the outer body (13). NEVER immerse the outer body (13) in any liquids or pour liquid into it.
3. Remove the Condensation Cup (12) and rinse it thoroughly and let dry. Clean the Inner Main Body (13) and Upper Ring (9) with a damp sponge or wash cloth.
4. Remove the pressure limiting valve (3) by gripping and rmly pulling upwards. Rinse with warm water and dry.
5. Clean the Lid (2) with warm soapy water, including the Rubber Seal Ring (18), Filter (17), Vent, and Float Valve (4) and let dry thoroughly.
6. On the underside of the lid below the pressure limiting valve (3), is a small
metal lter (17) which can be easily removed to clean (see gure below).
7. Let parts dry completely before reassembling.
8. Wash the Inner Pot (6), Wire Rack (20), and Tab for Lid Rest (21) with a non­abrasive sponge and allow to air dry or use a towel. It is not recommended to use any type of scouring pad that can scratch the surface of the Inner Pot (6).
9. Store the inner pot inside of the Pressure Cooker. Store the Pressure Cooker in a cool, dry location.
10. Do not store the pressure cooker with its lid on tightly. This saves on gasket wear and tear.
11. To clean the lter (17), remove it by pulling
vertically. To re-attach, simply line up the lter (17) and press down to secure it in place (see gure on
the right).
NOTE: Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative or by the original manufacturer or distributer.
