General Safety

WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to
follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/
or serious injury.

WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of
experience or knowledge unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not

play with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated

(corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

1) Work area safety

a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite

accidents.

b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as

in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools

create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.

Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2) Electrical safety

a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in

any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded)
power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of

electric shock.

b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as

pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk

of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering

a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling

or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp

edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk
of electric shock.

e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord

suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use

reduces the risk of electric shock.

f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use

a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD

reduces the risk of electric shock.

3) Personal safety

a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense

when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you
are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A

moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.

b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.

Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-

position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack,
picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger

on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool

on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool

may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep

your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes,
jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and

collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.

Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

4) Power tool use and care

a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your

application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at

the rate for which it was designed.

b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.

Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous
and must be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery

pack from the power tool before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive

safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow

persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to
operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of

untrained users.

e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of

moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may
affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained

power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools

with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance

with these instructions, taking into account the working
conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for

operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous
situation.

5) Service

a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using

only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of

the power tool is maintained.

Grinding Tool/Electric Chainsaw
Sharpener Safety

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment. When using
this machine, adequate eye protection, ear defenders and breathing
protection must be worn

• DO NOT operate this machine without the appropriate guards in place

• Grinding tool accessories must be mounted, used and stored in
compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations

• The maximum speed of the cutting/grinding disc or other accessory
must always be higher than the maximum speed of the machine on
which they are mounted

• Do not use any form of spacers or adapters in an attempt to make an
incorrectly sized wheel fit your machine

• Ensure that the cutting/grinding disc or accessory is fitted correctly and
securely before use. Run the machine with the disc or accessory fitted,
but without load, for a reasonable time before attempting to cut/grind.
If excessive vibration occurs, stop the machine, investigate and correct
the cause before use. Seek professional guidance if you are in doubt
about how to operate the machine safely

• If the grinding wheel vibrates, turn off the machine immediately and
check it is mounted correctly securely and that it is not damaged

• All wheels and accessories must be checked before installation. If a
wheel is damaged in any way, such as by being chipped, fractured,
warped or misshapen, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD. If you are unsure
about whether a disc is safe to operate, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD

• Always ensure that accessories are suitable to use. Check the expiry
date on the label. Resin-based and other grinding and cutting discs and
wheels CANNOT SAFELY BE USED beyond their expiry date

• Do not allow discs to become wet or contaminated with oil. If you
suspect that a wheel has degraded in storage, or if you are unsure
about whether its expiry date has passed, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD

• The wheel will continue to rotate for some time after the machine has
been switched off. Allow the moving parts to stop completely without
interference. Do not try to stop the machine by holding an object
against the disc

• A grinding wheel will gradually wear down during use, reducing its
size. If a wheel becomes too small to work with easily, stop using it and
replace it with a new disc

Fitting the chain clamp assembly and setting the
sharpening angle

1. Position the Chain Clamp Assembly (11) onto the base casting

2. Carefully push the bolt of the chain clamp assembly through the
mounting hole in the base casting

3. Loosely fit the Angle Locking Knob (8) on to the end of the bolt from
underneath the base casting

4. Rotate the clamp assembly until the Angle Scale (10) shows the
sharpening angle recommended by the chain manufacturer on the right
side of the ‘0’ mark (turn anticlockwise)

5. Secure by tightening the Angle Locking Knob (8)

Note: After the Chain Clamp Assembly (11) has been adjusted to the
required sharpening angle, the machine must be safely mounted to a
workbench prior to use.

Adjusting the height of the eye shield

Note: The height of the Eye Shield (2) must be adjusted to compensate for

wear of the Grinding Wheel (1).

1. Loosen the two Phillips screws at either side of the Wheel Guard (3)
with a Phillips screwdriver (not supplied)

2. Adjust the position of the Eye Shield (2)

3. Retighten the screws

Cleaning and degreasing of saw chains

• Saw chains must be thoroughly cleaned, degreased and dried prior to
sharpening

WARNING: Always wear cut-proof gloves when handling saw chains.

• Clean all chain links according to the chain manufacturer’s
recommendations

• Refer to the lubricant manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations
for chain degreasing

Understanding saw chains

Before sharpening, familiarise yourself with the different elements of the
chain. A saw chain has left and right angled cutting surfaces (‘teeth’). These
take alternate chips from the wood as they make contact. A curved depth
gauge is located in front of each tooth. The exact angles of the teeth and the
height of the depth gauges are crucial to achieving efficient cutting.

Intended Use

Electric grinding wheel and jig used to sharpen saw chains used on petrol
and electric chainsaws.

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all
its features and functions

• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If
any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool

Before Use

WARNING: Always wear adequate personal protective equipment, including
ear defenders, eye protection, suitable gloves, and breathing protection.

• Always check that all parts or attachments are secure, and that rotating

parts will not foul on guards or machine case

• Check that the height of the Eye Shield (2) is appropriately adjusted

• Ensure that any ventilation holes are not obscured in any way. Hot air

may be emitted from the machine when in use

Operation

WARNING: Always unplug the sharpener from the mains power supply
before making adjustments.

WARNING: Saw chains are extremely sharp. Handle with care. Wear
suitable cut-proof gloves.

WARNING: The grinding wheel supplied is suitable for sharpening chains
with a 3/8" pitch only. Attempting to sharpen other types of chain with this
wheel may cause permanent damage. Never attempt to sharpen objects
other than saw chains with this tool.

WARNING: Ensure the chain is clean and free from oil prior to sharpening.
WARNING: Even though a quality saw chain can be sharpened multiple

times, it is a consumable item. Inspect chains for wear and damage.
Discard chains that show signs of damage, distortion or excessive wear. Do
not use chains with links that do not move freely and easily.

Switching on and off

WARNING: Keep away from the wheel when it is turning. Ensure no other

person is standing in the vicinity of the machine or in line with the wheel
rotation trajectory.

Note: Do not switch the machine on/off when under load. Always allow the
motor to reach its full speed before applying load, and to stop completely
before leaving unattended.

Note: Always test the grinding wheel by running it for a few seconds before
making contact with the saw chain.

• To start the machine, press the part of the On/Off Switch (5) marked '1'

• To stop the machine, press the part of the On/Off Switch (5) marked '0'

Sharpening a saw chain

Note: Ensure the tool is set up as described in ’Fitting the chain clamp

assembly and setting the sharpening angle’ in order to begin sharpening
the left angled teeth.

Sharpening the left angled teeth:

1. Place the chain into the Chain Clamp Assembly (11). The hook of the

teeth should face away from you

2. Lower the Chain Stop (13) so that it is resting on the rear of a left

angled tooth

3. Rotate the Chain Stop Adjustment Knob (12) so that the tooth is properly

positioned when the grinding wheel is pulled down

4. Lock the chain into place by screwing the Chain Locking Knob (9)

inwards

5. Check that the depth stop is correctly set. The machine head should be

stopped before the wheel can cut into the lower part of the chain. To
adjust, rotate the Depth Adjustment Knob (7)

6. Connect the machine to the mains supply and switch on

7. Grip the Handle (4) and pull the wheel down onto the blade tooth

WARNING: Remove as little material as possible and do not work too long
on a tooth. The maximum amount that can be removed from each single
tooth varies from chain to chain. Obtain this information from the chains
manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations.

8. Raise the wheel and switch off. Allow the wheel to come to a complete

stop, and disconnect from mains supply before proceeding

9. Loosen the Chain Locking Knob (9) and move the chain forward so that

the Chain Stop (13) is resting on the rear of the next left angled tooth

10. Repeat the above steps to sharpen the rest of the left angled teeth

Sharpening the right angled teeth:

11. Loosen the Angle Locking Knob (8) (the machine might need to

be removed from the workbench) and rotate the clamp assembly
clockwise until the sharpening angle recommended by the chain
manufacturer shows on the left side of the ‘0’ mark

12. The right angled teeth can now be sharpened in the same way as for

the left

Adjusting the height of chain depth limiting gauges

• Once all the teeth have been sharpened, the depth gauges must be

checked

• The depth gauges are measured against the teeth (see Fig. A). Refer to

chain manufacturer’s literature for the correct depth setting

• If the chain has been repeatedly sharpened, the chain depth limiting

gauges may need to be filed down using a flat metal file (not included)
as shown in Fig. A

• File down each gauge so that they are at the distance to the cutting

teeth recommended by the manufacturer

WARNING: Never fit a grinding disc with a maximum speed lower than the
no load speed of this machine.

WARNING: Only fit grinding wheels of the correct size and arbour diameter
for this machine (see “Specifications”).

1. Unscrew the Angle Locking Knob (8) and remove the Chain Clamp
Assembly (11) from the base casting

2. Unscrew the three Phillips screws around the Wheel Guard (3)

Note: The screws are secured by small metal chains to prevent them
being lost.

3. Remove the Eye Shield (2) and Wheel Guard (3)

4. Slide the Spindle Locking Pin (14) into the Spindle Locking Hole (6)
with the small diameter end first. Rotate the grinding wheel by hand
until you feel the pin engage with the motor spindle. Hold the pin in
this position

5. Remove the retaining nut from the centre of the grinding wheel, using
the Box Spanner (16)

6. Remove the flange and the grinding wheel

7. Mount a new grinding wheel on the spindle and place the flange and
retaining nut on top

8. Ensure that the retaining nut and wheel guard are replaced and
securely tightened before use

WARNING: Over-tightening the retaining nut can cause the wheel to crack.
Do not use excessive force.

Brushes

• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn

• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure,
or visible sparking

• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an
authorised service centre

Storage

• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of
children

Disposal

Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that
are no longer functional and are not viable for repair.

• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic

equipment (WEEE), with household waste

• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct

way to dispose of power tools

• Replacement grinding wheels (product code 730640) are available from
your Silverline stockist

Maintenance

WARNING: Always unplug the machine from the mains power supply before
removing or fitting any attachments, cleaning or carrying out maintenance.

Cleaning

• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts
to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body
of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean,
dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes

Changing the grinding wheel

WARNING: Ensure the machine is disconnected from the mains power

supply before replacing the grinding wheel.
Note: Always replace wheels before they become excessively worn. Do not

allow wheels to wear below a diameter of 70mm.

Carriage will not be refunded. Items for return must be in a suitably clean and safe state for

repair, and should be packaged carefully to prevent damage or injury during transportation.
We may reject unsuitable or
unsafe deliveries.

All work will be carried out by Silverline Tools or its authorized
repair agents.

The repair or replacement of the product will not extend the period
of guarantee

Defects recognised by us as being covered by the guarantee shall be corrected by means of
repair of the tool, free of charge (excluding carriage charges) or by replacement with a tool
in perfect working order.

Retained tools, or parts, for which a replacement has been issued, will become the property
of Silverline Tools.

If any part is no longer available or out of manufacture, Silverline Tools will replace it with a

What is not covered:

Silverline Tools does not guarantee repairs required as a result of:
Normal wear and tear caused by use in accordance with the operating instructions eg

blades, brushes, belts, bulbs, batteries etc.
The replacement of any provided accessories drill bits, blades, sanding sheets, cutting discs

and other related items.
Accidental damage, faults caused by negligent use or care, misuse, neglect, careless

operation or handling of the product.
Use of the product for anything other than normal domestic purposes.
Change or modification of the product in any way.
Use of parts and accessories which are not genuine Silverline Tools components.
Faulty installation (except installed by Silverline Tools).
Repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than Silverline Tools or its authorized

repair agents.
Claims other than the right to correction of faults on the tool named in these guarantee
conditions are not covered by the guarantee.

Battery Guarantee

Silverline batteries are guaranteed for 30 days. If a defect occurs on a registered battery
during the term of the Battery Guarantee, due to material or manufacturing fault, then
Silverline will replace it free of charge. This guarantee does not apply to commercial use nor

does it extend to normal wear and tear or damage as a result of accident, abuse or misuse.

L’intensité sonore peut dépasser 85 dB(A) et il est nécessaire

que l’utilisateur porte des protections auditives.

ATTENTION : Portez toujours des protections sonores lorsque le niveau
d’intensité est supérieur à 85 dB(A) et limitez le temps d’exposition si
nécessaire. Si l’intensité sonore devient inconfortable, même avec les
protections, arrêtez immédiatement d’utiliser l’appareil, vérifiez que les
protections sont bien en places et adaptés avec le niveau sonore produit
par l’appareil.

ATTENTION : L’exposition de l’utilisateur aux vibrations peut engendrer une

L’expression « appareil/outil électrique » employée dans les présentes
consignes recouvre aussi bien les appareils filaires à brancher sur secteur

1. Sécurité sur la zone de travail

a. Maintenir une zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Des zones

encombrées et mal éclairées sont sources d’accidents.

b. Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des environnements

explosifs, tels qu’à proximité de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières
inflammables. Les outils électriques produisent des étincelles

susceptibles d’enflammer la poussière ou les vapeurs présentes.

c. Éloigner les enfants et toute personne se trouvant à proximité

pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique. Ceux-ci pourraient vous

distraire et vous faire perdre la maîtrise de l’appareil.

2. Sécurité électrique

a. Les prises des outils électriques doivent correspondre aux prises

du secteur. Ne modifiez jamais la prise en aucune façon. N’utilisez
jamais d’adaptateur avec les outils électriques mis à la terre.

Des prises non modifiées, adaptées aux boîtiers de prise de courant,
réduiront les risques de décharge électrique.

b. Éviter le contact corporel avec les surfaces mises à la terre telles

que tuyaux, radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risque de

décharge électrique est plus important si votre corps est mis à la terre.

c. Ne pas exposer votre outil électrique à la pluie ou à l’humidité.

L’infiltration d’eau dans un outil électrique augmentera le risque de
décharge électrique.

d. Ne pas maltraiter le cordon électrique. N’utilisez jamais le cordon

électrique pour porter, tirer ou débrancher l’outil électrique.
Conservez le cordon électrique à l’écart de la chaleur, de
l’essence, de bords tranchants ou de pièces en mouvement.

Un cordon électrique endommagé ou entortillé accroît le risque de
décharge électrique.

e. Au cas où l’outil électroportatif serait utilisé à l’extérieur, servez-

vous d’une rallonge appropriée à une utilisation en extérieur. Cela

réduit le risque de décharge électrique.

f. Si une utilisation de l’outil dans un environnement humide ne peut

être évitée, utilisez une alimentation protégée par un disjoncteur
différentiel. L’utilisation d’un disjoncteur différentiel réduit le risque de

décharge électrique.

3. Sécurité des personnes

a. Rester vigilant et faire preuve de sens lors de la manipulation de

l’outil. Ne pas utiliser d’outil électrique en état de fatigue ou sous
l’influence de drogues, d’alcool ou de médicaments. Un moment

d’inattention pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique peut se traduire
par des blessures graves.

b. Porter des équipements de protection. Porter toujours des lunettes

de protection. Le port d’équipements de protection tels que des

masques à poussières, des chaussures de sécurité antidérapantes,
un casque de sécurité ou des protections antibruit, selon le travail à
effectuer, réduira le risque de blessures aux personnes.

c. Éviter tout démarrage accidentel. S’assurer que l’interrupteur

marche-arrêt soit en position d’arrêt (Off) avant de brancher
l’outil sur l’alimentation secteur. Porter un outil électrique tout

en maintenant le doigt posé sur l’interrupteur ou brancher un outil
électrique dont l’interrupteur est sur la position de marche (On) est
source d’accidents.

d. Enlever toute clé ou tout instrument de réglage avant de mettre

l’outil électrique en marche. Une clé ou un instrument de réglage

laissé fixé à un élément en rotation de l’outil électrique peut entraîner
des blessures physiques.

e. Ne pas essayer d’atteindre une zone hors de portée. Se tenir

toujours en position stable et conserver l’équilibre. Cela permet de
mieux contrôler l’outil électrique dans des situations inattendues.

f. Porter des vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter de vêtements

amples ou des bijoux pendants. Les vêtements amples, les bijoux

pendants ou les cheveux longs peuvent être happés par les pièces en
mouvement.

g. Si l’outil est pourvu de dispositifs destinés au raccord

d’équipements d’extraction et de récupération de la poussière/
sciure, s’assurer qu’ils soient bien fixés et utilisés correctement.

L’utilisation de ces dispositifs peut réduire les risques dus à la
poussière.

4. Utilisation et entretien des outils électriques

a. Ne pas surcharger l’outil électrique. Utiliser l’outil électrique

approprié au travail à effectuer. Un outil électrique adapté et employé

au rythme pour lequel il a été conçu permettra de réaliser un travail de
meilleure qualité et dans de meilleures conditions de sécurité.

b. Ne pas utiliser un outil électrique dont l’interrupteur marche-arrêt

est hors service. Tout outil électrique dont la commande ne s’effectue

plus par l’interrupteur marche-arrêt est dangereux et doit être réparé.

c. Débrancher l’outil électrique avant d’effectuer tout réglage,

changement d’accessoire ou avant de le ranger. De telles mesures

préventives réduiront les risques de démarrage accidentel.

d. Ranger les outils électriques inutilisés hors de portée des enfants

et ne pas permettre l’utilisation de ces outils aux personnes
novices ou n’ayant pas connaissance de ces instructions. Les

outils électriques sont dangereux dans les mains d’utilisateurs
inexpérimentés.

e. Veiller à l’entretien des outils électriques. Vérifier que les éléments

rotatifs soient bien alignés et non grippés. S’assurer de l’absence
de pièces cassées ou endommagées susceptibles de nuire au bon
fonctionnement de l'outil. Si l’outil électrique est endommagé, le
faire réparer avant toute utilisation. De nombreux accidents sont

causés par l’utilisation d’outils électriques mal entretenus.

f. Garder les outils de coupe affûtés et propres. Des outils de coupe

bien entretenus, aux tranchants bien affûtés, sont moins susceptibles
de se gripper et sont plus faciles à contrôler.

g. Utiliser l’outil électrique, les accessoires et les outils à monter, etc.,

conformément à ces instructions et selon l’utilisation prévue pour
le type d’outil donné, en tenant compte des conditions de travail et
de la tâche à réaliser. Toute utilisation de cet outil électrique autre que

celle pour laquelle il a été conçu peut entraîner des situations à risque
et entraînerait une annulation de sa garantie.

5. Entretien

a. Ne faire réparer l’outil électrique que par un réparateur qualifié

utilisant uniquement des pièces de rechange identiques. Cela

permettra d’assurer la sécurité continue de cet outil électrique.

Consignes de sécurité relatives aux
outils de meulage / affûteuses de
chaîne de tronçonneuse

• Portez toujours un équipement de protection individuelle adéquat.
L’utilisation d’un outil de meulage demande le port de lunettes de
protection, d’un casque anti-bruit et d’un masque anti-poussière.

• N’utilisez JAMAIS de meuleuse dépourvue de ses dispositifs de
protection.

• Les accessoires de la meuleuse doivent être installés, utilisés et rangés
selon les instructions du fabricant.

• La vitesse maximale de la meule ou du disque à tronçonner doit
toujours être supérieure à la vitesse maximale de la machine sur
laquelle elle est montée.

• N’utilisez pas d’entretoise pour forcer le montage d’un disque inadapté
sur votre machine.

• Assurez-vous le disque soit correctement posé et fixé avant l’utilisation.
Faites tourner la machine avec le disque posé, sans charge, pendant 30
secondes avant d’entreprendre la découpe / le meulage. S’il apparaît
une vibration excessive, arrêter la machine et remédier à la cause avant
utilisation. N’hésitez pas de demander l’assistance d’un professionnel
au cas de doute sur l’utilisation des gardes ou tout autre aspect de la
sécurité d’utilisation de ce produit.

• Si la meule d’affûtage vibre, arrêtez immédiatement la machine et
vérifiez si la meule est correctement montée ou si elle n’est pas
endommagée.

• Examinez les disques à tronçonner/meuler avant l’utilisation. Si un
disque est endommagé de quelque manière que ce soit (écaillé,
fracturé, etc.), NE L’UTILISEZ PAS. Jetez le disque et remplacez-le. Si
vous n’êtes pas sûr de l’état du disque, NE L’UTILISEZ PAS et jetez-le.

• Vérifiez que les accessoires sont en bon état d’utilisation et vérifiez la
date d’expiration se trouvant sur l’étiquette. Des disques à tronçonner,
à meuler dont la date d’expiration est dépassée, ne peuvent pas être
utilisés en toute sécurité.

• N’exposez pas les disques à l’humidité et à la graisse. Si vous
soupçonnez qu’un disque s’est dégradé pendant son entreposage, NE
L’UTILISEZ PAS.

• La machine continue à tourner pendant un certain temps après avoir
été éteinte. Laissez la machine s’arrêter d’elle-même. Ne l’arrêtez pas
en calant le disque contre un quelconque objet. NE déposez JAMAIS la
meuleuse avant l’arrêt complet du disque.

• Un disque de meulage s’use à l’usage et sa taille diminue. Une fois
que le disque est trop usé pour pouvoir travailler confortablement,
remplacez-le

Usage conforme

Déballage

• Déballez le produit avec soin. Veillez à retirer tout le matériau
d’emballage et familiarisez-vous avec toutes les caractéristiques du
produit.

• Si des pièces sont endommagées ou manquantes, faites-les réparer ou
remplacer avant d’utiliser l’appareil.

Avant utilisation

AVERTISSEMENT : Portez TOUJOURS des lunettes de protection, des
protections auditives, des gants adaptés ainsi qu’un masque respiratoire
lorsque vous travaillez avec cet outil.

• Vérifiez que toutes les parties et éléments soient bien fixés et que les

parties rotatives ne rentrent pas en contact avec les protections et le
corps de la machine.

• Vérifiez que la hauteur de la visière (2) soit à la bonne hauteur.

• Vérifiez que les orifices de ventilation ne soient masqués d’une aucune

manière. De l’air chaud peut être émis lorsque la machine est en cours
d'utilisation.

Monter le support de la chaîne et régler l’angle
d’affûtage

1. Positionnez le support (11) sur le socle.

2. Insérez avec précaution le boulon du support à travers le socle.

3. Mettez la molette de verrouillage de l’angle (8) sur l’extrémité du boulon

se trouvant sous le socle.

4. Faites tourner le support jusqu’à ce l’échelle d’angle indique l’angle

d’affûtage recommandé par le fabricant de la chaîne sur la droite de la
marque ‘0’ (tournez dans le sens antihoraire).

5. Pour maintenir le support en position, serrez la molette (8).

Remarque : Lorsque le support (11) est réglé à pour l’angle d’affûtage
requis, la machine doit être montée et fixée sur un établi avant toute
utilisation.
