Personal Safety

a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the inﬂuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of

inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury

b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard

hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your ﬁnger

on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents

Power Tool Use & Care

e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained

power tools f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools

with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control

g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations

Grinding Tool Safety

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment. When using a grinder, adequate eye protection, ear defenders and breathing protection must be worn

• When operating the grinder, it is a legal requirement that the correct type of guard is installed for each application to prevent injury. For example, a cutting guard must be installed when using a cutting or diamond disc, and a grinding guard must be used with grinding discs

• Reset the guard if the work angle or the position of the person operating the machine changes. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure how to operate the guards or any other safety features of the machine correctly

• DO NOT operate a grinder without the appropriate guards in place

• Grinding tool accessories must be mounted, used and stored in compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations

• Use plain or centre-recessed cutting or grinding discs in sizes stated in this instruction manual. Attempting to use any other accessory or attachment is extremely dangerous and could lead to serious injury

• Use the correct type of cutting or grinding disc for the task and material being worked on. Check the label on the disc or accessory to ﬁnd out if it is appropriate to use on the workpiece.

• The maximum speed of the cutting/grinding disc or other accessory must always be higher than the maximum speed of the machine on which they are mounted

• Do not use any form of spacers or adapters in an attempt to make an incorrectly sized disc ﬁt your machine

• Ensure that the cutting/grinding disc or accessory is ﬁtted correctly and securely before use. Run the machine with the disc or accessory ﬁtted, but without load, for a reasonable time before attempting to cut/grind. If excessive vibration occurs, stop the machine, investigate and correct the cause before use. Seek professional guidance if you are in doubt about how to operate the machine safely.

• All discs and accessories must be checked before installation. If a disc is damaged in any way, such as by being chipped, fractured, warped or misshapen, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD. If you are unsure about whether a disc is safe to operate, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD

• Always ensure that accessories are suitable to use. Check the expiry date on the label. Resin-based and other grinding and cutting discs CANNOT SAFELY BE USED beyond their expiry date

• Do not allow discs to become wet or contaminated with oil. If you suspect that a disc has degraded in storage, or if you are unsure about whether its expiry date has passed, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD

• Do not attempt to cut or grind magnesium or any alloy that has high magnesium content

• Do not attempt to make cuts that exceed the maximum cutting depth of the disc

• Hold the machine appropriately to ensure that debris produced does not land on skin or clothing

• Do not operate the spindle lock while the grinder is running

• Discs will continue to rotate for some time after the machine has been switched off. Allow the moving parts to stop completely without interference. Do not try to stop the machine by holding an object against the disc. NEVER place the grinder down until the disc has completely stopped moving

• A grinding disc will gradually wear down during use, reducing its size. If a disc becomes too small to work with easily, stop using it and replace it with a new disc

Additional Safety Recommendations for the use of Superabrasives on Handheld Machines

• Superabrasives are generally inﬂexible and could shatter, so must be handled with the utmost care. Damaged or improperly mounted superabrasives are dangerous and can cause SEVERE injury to the user and other people in the vicinity

• Types of superabrasive wheels include diamond cutting discs, welded metal discs, CBN discs etc. Choose your superabrasive tool carefully, taking into consideration the workpiece material, the machine dimensions and capabilities. Make sure the machine does not exceed the maximum operating speed of the superabrasive disc

• NEVER use superabrasive cutting discs for side grinding, as this might lead to the disc shattering

• Superabrasive wheels have to be carefully inspected and tested before mounting. Metal wheels should be subjected to a sound test: hold the wheel on a mandrel or with a ﬁnger inserted through the bore, then tap it with a non-metallic object at several points and listen each time to the sound produced. An intact wheel will produce a clear ‘bell like’ metallic sound. Damaged wheels will give a dull, chattering sound. If in doubt, DO NOT USE, MARK AS DAMAGED AND DISCARD

• Make sure the machine’s mounting ﬂange is compatible with the superabrasive wheel. Refer to the manufacturer’s mounting instructions

• ALWAYS conduct a test run after mounting, with no load for at least 30 seconds, to determine if the wheel runs balanced and does not produce excessive vibration. If it does, switch off IMMEDIATELY, remove the disc, inspect, re-mount and re-test if no damage is detected

• If planning on using the superabrasive wheel with a coolant, liquid dust suppressant or lubricant, ﬁrst check if the wheel, machine and workpiece are compatible with wet cutting and with the compound to be used. Always apply liquid to an already running wheel, never to a non-moving tool, as the unbalance could lead to the rupture of the wheel. When switching off, remove the liquid supply ﬁrst and let the machine run at no-load, until centrifugal forces have drained all liquid from the wheel. Dry off the wheel after use, and prevent liquid from being absorbed into the wheel

Intended Use

Angle grinder, using 115 mm discs, suitable for light to medium duty grinding and cutting tasks on metal and other suitable materials.

Unpacking your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions.

• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool.

Before Use

WARNING: Always unplug the grinder from the mains supply before attempting to ﬁt or replace any attachment. Never ﬁt any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the no load speed of the machine.

• All discs and accessories must be subjected to a visual inspection prior to installation, to ensure they are in good condition and within their expiry date. If in doubt, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD

• Always check all parts and attachments are secure, and that rotating parts will not foul on guards or machine case

• Always hold the machine, using both hands, by the handles provided

• Be aware that the cast metal gear housing may get hot during use

• Hot air will be emitted from the ventilation holes

• Ensure that the ventilation holes are not obscured in any way

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the task. Use of this machine requires ear defenders, eye protection, gloves, breathing protection, and if appropriate a hard hat

Fitting the auxiliary handle

WARNING: To ensure operator safety, ALWAYS use the auxiliary handle.

Install it at the most appropriate position for the individual task.

1. Screw the Auxiliary Handle (2) clockwise into one of the three mounting points on the gear housing (see Fig. E). Tighten by hand

Note: The auxiliary handle can be mounted to the left or right side, or on top of the gear housing.

2. To remove the handle, unscrew anti-clockwise

Changing guards

WARNING: The correct guard MUST be installed for each application before

operation commences. This is a legal requirement. Note: The guard must be adjusted so that it is situated between the disc

and the operator. Reset the guard if the work angle or the position of the operator changes. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure how to operate the guards or any other safety features of the machine correctly.

Note: The machine is supplied with the grinding guard pre-installed

1. Remove the Threaded Flange (5), Disc (10) (if installed) and Spacer (6) from the Spindle (4)

2. Using a Phillips screwdriver (not supplied), remove the three screws that secure the guard ﬂange to the gear housing, taking care not to lose the spring washers located on each screw

3. Remove the guard ﬂange and guard

4. Place the ridge of the alternative guard into the sliding-groove on the gear housing that leads around the spindle and secures the guard in place

5. Re-place the guard ﬂange on top, and line up the three holes for the Phillips screws previously removed

6. Insert the three Phillips screws with spring washers and tighten loosely, to allow the guard orientation to be adjusted

7. Slide the guard into the desired position

8. Retighten the three screws of the guard ﬂange

9. Re-install the required disc as outlined in ‘Fitting a grinding or cutting disc’

Note: The guard can be moved through a range of approximately 90°, so that it can be placed between the disc and the operator at any required work angle.

Fitting a grinding or cutting disc

Note: Ensure you have the correct guard installed for the disc you plan to

install.

1. Ensure that the Spacer (6) is in place on the Spindle (4) and positively engaged

2. Place the cutting or grinding disc onto the spacer

Note: If using depressed centre discs, ensure that the depression is positioned towards the spacer.

3. Screw the Threaded Flange (5) onto the Spindle (4). The raised centre of the threaded ﬂange should face towards the disc when installing a grinding disc, and away when installing a cutting disc

4. Depress the Spindle Lock Button (7) and rotate the spindle until you feel the lock engage

5. You can now use the supplied Pin Spanner (8) to fully tighten the threaded ﬂange. When tight, release the spindle lock button. The grinder is now ready for use (see Fig. B)

6. To remove a disc, depress the lock button, rotate the spindle until you feel the lock engage, and use the pin spanner to remove the threaded ﬂange

Fitting a wire cup brush

Note: When using the angle grinder with wire cup brushes, the guards

become ineffective and should be removed.

1. Remove Threaded Flange (5), Disc (10) (if installed) and Spacer (6) from the Spindle (4)

2. Screw cup brush directly onto spindle

3. Depress the spindle lock button and rotate the spindle until you feel the lock engage

4. Tighten the cup brush with a suitable spanner. Release the lock button. The machine is now ready for use (see Fig. C)

5. To remove a cup brush, depress the lock button, rotate the spindle until you feel the lock engage, then use a suitable spanner to remove the cup brush

Operation

Switching on/off

Note: Do not switch the machine on/off when the disc is in contact with the

workpiece. Always allow the motor to reach its full speed before applying load, and to stop completely before placing the grinder down. Always hold the machine securely, using both hands, on the handles provided.

1. Grip the main and Auxiliary Handle (2) ﬁrmly. Press the Lock-Off Button (11) to disengage the safety lock, then press the On/Off Trigger Switch (1)

2. To stop the machine release the On/Off Trigger Switch

Grinding

• Only use discs speciﬁcally manufactured for grinding operations. Stone and metal grinding discs are not interchangeable, use the correct disc for your application

• When grinding, keep the tool at approximately 15 to 30° to the workpiece surface (see Fig. D)

Note: Do not apply too much pressure to the machine whilst grinding. Excessive pressure does not result in more effective removal of material, but will in fact cause premature wear of the grinding disc and increase wear and tear on the machine.

Cutting

WARNING: Always ensure that the correct guard for use with cutting discs

or superabrasive wheels is installed.

• Only use discs speciﬁcally manufactured for cutting operations. Stone and metal cutting discs are not interchangeable, use the correct disc for your application

• Never use cutting discs for grinding operations. The disc might shatter and produce projectiles that could injure the operator and bystanders

• When cutting, always keep the angle of the disc constant. Do not apply any sideways force to cutting discs, as this might lead to the disc becoming jammed in the cut and shatter

WARNING: Do not apply too much pressure to the machine whilst cutting. Excessive pressure does not result in more effective or faster cutting, but will in fact cause premature wear of the cutting disc and increase wear and tear on the machine.

Note: The cutting disc will wear during use, and the disc diameter will gradually reduce in size. The smaller the disc becomes, the more strain will be placed on the motor. To avoid damage to the machine, only use cutting discs that are within approximately 25% of the original size.

Using a cup brush or wire wheel

• Always check that the maximum speed of the cup brush or wire wheel does not exceed the no load speed of the grinder

• Ensure that no part of the cup brush or wire wheel can come into contact with the machine housing

• Run the grinder, with cup brush or wire wheel attached, for at least 30 seconds before use to check that the cup brush or wire wheel is secure, and properly balanced

• When using a wire cup brush or wire wheel, avoid applying excess pressure. Using greater force will not make the cup brush or wire wheel more effective, but will bend the wires out of shape and damage the brush

Maintenance

WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before carrying out any maintenance/cleaning.

Cleaning

WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and

gloves when cleaning this tool.

• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the device’s service life

• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth

• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufﬁcient, a mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended

• Water must never come into contact with the tool

• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it

• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes (where applicable)

Brushes

• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn

• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking

• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an authorised Silverline service centre

Disposal

Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer functional and are not viable for repair.

• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with household waste

• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of power tools

Carriage will not be refunded. Items for return must be in a suitably clean and safe state for repair, and should be packaged carefully to prevent damage or injury during transportation. We may reject unsuitable or unsafe deliveries.

All work will be carried out by Silverline Tools or its authorized repair agents.

The repair or replacement of the product will not extend the period of guarantee

Defects recognised by us as being covered by the guarantee shall be corrected by means of repair of the tool, free of charge (excluding carriage charges) or by replacement with a tool in perfect working order.

sheets, cutting discs and other related items. Accidental damage, faults caused by negligent use or care, misuse, neglect,

components. Faulty installation (except installed by Silverline Tools). Repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than Silverline Tools or its

authorized repair agents. Claims other than the right to correction of faults on the tool named in these

guarantee conditions are not covered by the guarantee.

Battery Guarantee

Silverline batteries are guaranteed for 30 days. If a defect occurs on a registered battery during the term of the Battery Guarantee, due to material or manufacturing fault, then Silverline will replace it free of charge. This guarantee does not apply to commercial use nor does it extend to normal wear and tear or damage as a result of accident, abuse or misuse.

L’intensité sonore peut dépasser 85 dB(A) et il est recommandé que

l’opérateur prenne des mesures de protection sonore.

Attention : Toujours porter des protections sonores lorsque le niveau d’intensité est supérieur à 85 dB(A) et limiter le temps d’exposition si nécessaire. Si l’intensité sonore devient inconfortable, même avec les protections, arrêter immédiatement d’utiliser l’appareil, vériﬁer que les protections soient bien mises et qu’elles soient adéquates avec le niveau sonore produit par l’appareil.

Attention : L’exposition de l’utilisateur aux vibrations peut engendrer une perte du toucher, des engourdissements, des picotements et ainsi réduire la capacité de préhension. De longues expositions peuvent également provoquer ces symptômes de façon chronique. Si nécessaire, limiter le temps d’exposition aux vibrations, et porter des gants anti-vibrations. Ne pas utiliser cet appareil avec vos mains sous des conditions en dessous de températures normales, car l’effet vibratoire en est accentué. Se référer au cas de ﬁgures des caractéristiques relatives aux vibrations pour calculer le temps et fréquence d’utilisation de l’appareil.

Attention : Cet appareil n’est pas conçu pour être utilisé par des personnes (enfants compris) ayant des capacités physiques ou mentales réduites, ou n’ayant pas la connaissance ou l’expérience requise, à moins d’être sous la supervision d’une personne responsable de leur sécurité ou d’avoir reçu les instructions nécessaires. Sécurité sur la zone de travail

a) Maintenir une zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Des zones encombrées et mal éclairées sont sources d’accidents.

b) Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des environnements explosifs, tels qu’à proximité de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières inﬂammables. Les appareils électriques produisent des étincelles

c) Eloigner les enfants et les passants pendant l’utilisation d’un appareil électrique. Ceux-ci peuvent provoquer une perte d’attention et

faire perdre la maîtrise de l’appareil.

Sécurité électrique

a) La prise d’un appareil électrique doit être adaptée à la prise du secteur. Ne jamais modiﬁer la prise en aucune façon. Ne jamais utiliser d’adaptateur sur la prise électrique d’appareil mis à la terre. Des prises non modiﬁées, adaptées aux boîtiers de prise de

courant, réduiront le risque de décharge électrique.

b) Eviter le contact corporel avec les surfaces mises à la terre telles que tuyaux, radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risque de

décharge électrique est plus important si le corps est mis à la terre.

c) Ne pas exposer l’appareil électrique à la pluie ou à l’humidité. L’inﬁltration d’eau dans un appareil électrique accroît le risque de décharge

électrique.

d) Ne pas maltraiter le cordon électrique. Ne jamais utiliser le cordon électrique pour porter, tirer ou débrancher l’appareil. Protéger le cordon électrique de la chaleur, du contact avec l’essence, des bords tranchants et pièces rotatives. Un cordon électrique endommagé ou

entortillé accroît le risque de décharge électrique.

e) Lors d’une utilisation de l’appareil électrique en extérieur, se servir d’une rallonge appropriée à une utilisation en extérieur. Cela réduit le

risque de décharge électrique.

f) Si une utilisation de l’appareil électrique dans un environnement humide ne peut être évitée, utiliser une alimentation protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel. L’utilisation d’un disjoncteur différentiel

réduit le risque de décharge électrique.

Sécurité des personnes

a) Rester vigilant et faire preuve de bon sens lors de la manipulation de l’appareil. Ne pas utiliser un appareil électrique lorsque l’on se trouve dans un état de fatigue, ou sous l’inﬂuence de drogues, d’alcool ou de médicaments. Un moment d’inattention pendant l’utilisation d’un outil

électrique peut se traduire par des blessures graves.

b) Porter un équipement de protection approprié. Toujours porter une protection oculaire. Le port de masque à poussières, chaussures

de sécurité antidérapantes, casque de sécurité et protections antibruit adaptés aux différentes conditions de travail réduit le risque de blessures corporelles.

c) Eviter tout démarrage accidentel. S’assurer que l’interrupteur marche-arrêt soit en position d’arrêt avant de brancher l’appareil sur l’alimentation secteur ou d’installer la batterie, de prendre l’appareil ou de le transporter. Porter un appareil électrique tout en maintenant le doigt

posé sur l’interrupteur ou brancher un appareil électrique dont l’interrupteur est sur la position de marche est source d’accidents.

d) Enlever toute clé et tout instrument de réglage avant de mettre l’appareil électrique en marche. Une clé ou un instrument de réglage

laissé ﬁxé à un élément en rotation de l’appareil électrique peut entraîner des blessures physiques.

e) Ne pas essayer d’atteindre une zone hors de portée. Se tenir toujours en position stable permettant de conserver l’équilibre. Cela permet de mieux contrôler l’appareil électrique dans des situations

inattendues.

f) Porter des vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter de vêtements amples ou des bijoux pendants. Eloigner cheveux, vêtements et gants des pièces en mouvement. Les vêtements amples, les bijoux pendants et

cheveux longs peuvent être happés par les pièces en rotation.

g) Si l’appareil est pourvu de dispositifs destinés au raccord d’équipements d’extraction et de récupération de la poussière/sciure, s’assurer qu’ils soient bien ﬁxés et utilisés correctement L’utilisation

de ces dispositifs peut réduire les risques dus à la poussière.

Utilisation et entretien des appareils électriques

a) Ne pas forcer sur l’appareil électrique. Utiliser l’appareil électrique approprié au travail à effectuer. Un appareil électrique adapté et employé

au rythme pour lequel il a été conçu permettra de réaliser un travail de meilleure qualité et dans de meilleures conditions de sécurité.

b) Ne pas utiliser un appareil électrique dont l’interrupteur marche arrêt est hors service. Tout appareil électrique dont la commande ne

s’effectue plus par l’interrupteur marche-arrêt est dangereux et doit être réparé.

c) Débrancher l’appareil électrique ou démonter sa batterie avant d’effectuer tout réglage ou changement d’accessoire et avant de le ranger. De telles mesures préventives réduiront les risques de

démarrage accidentel.

d) Ranger les appareils électriques inutilisés hors de portée des enfants et ne pas permettre l’utilisation de cet appareil aux personnes non habituées à son maniement ou n’ayant pas lu les présentes instructions. Les appareils électriques sont dangereux dans

les mains d’utilisateurs inexpérimentés.

e) Veiller à l’entretien des appareils électriques. Vériﬁer que les éléments rotatifs soient bien alignés et non grippés. S’assurer de l’absence de pièces cassées ou endommagées susceptibles de nuire au bon fonctionnement de l'appareil. Si l’appareil électrique est endommagé, le faire réparer avant toute utilisation. De nombreux accidents sont dus à

l’utilisation d’appareils électriques mal entretenus.

f) Veiller à ce que les outils de coupe soient tenus affûtés et propres. Des outils de coupe bien entretenus, aux tranchants bien affûtés, sont

moins susceptibles de se gripper et sont plus faciles à contrôler.

g) Utiliser l’appareil électrique, les accessoires et outils à monter conformément à ces instructions, en tenant compte des conditions de travail et de la tâche à réaliser. Toute utilisation d’un appareil

électrique autre que celle pour laquelle il a été conçu peut entraîner des situations à risque.

ATTENTION : Lorsque utilisé en Australie ou en Nouvelle Zélande, il est recommandé que cet appareil soit toujours alimenté via un disjoncteur différentiel ayant un courant résiduel de 30 mA ou moins.

Révision

a) Ne faire réparer votre appareil électrique que par un réparateur qualiﬁé utilisant uniquement des pièces de rechange identiques. Cela

permet de maintenir la sécurité d’utilisation de l’appareil électrique.

Consignes de sécurité relatives aux outils de meulage

• Portez toujours un équipement de protection individuelle adéquat. L’utilisation d’un outil de meulage demande le port de lunettes de protection, d’un casque anti-bruit et d’un masque anti-poussière.

• Pour toute utilisation d’une meuleuse, il est légalement requis d’utiliser des gardes de protections adéquates à chaque application. Par exemple un garde de protection de tronçonnage doit être utilisé lors d’un tronçonnage, et un garde de meulage lors d’un meulage.

• Repositionnez le garde de protection si l’angle de travail ou la position de l’utilisateur change.

• N’hésitez pas de demander l’assistance d’un professionnel au cas de doute sur l’utilisation des gardes ou tout autre aspect de la sécurité d’utilisation de ce produit.

• N’utilisez jamais de meuleuse dépourvue de ses éléments de protection.

• Les accessoires de la meuleuse doivent être installés, utilisés et rangés selon les instructions du fabricant.

• N’utilisez que des disques de la taille prescrite dans ce manuel, qu’ils soient à moyeu déporté ou plat. L’utilisation de tout accessoire inadapté est extrêmement dangereuse et représente un risque de blessures graves.

• Utilisez les disques à meuler ou à tronçonner adapté à la tâche et au matériau. Vériﬁez l’étiquette du disque ou de l’accessoire pour en connaitre la compatibilité pour une utilisation avec votre pièce de travail.

• La vitesse maximale de la meule ou du disque à tronçonner doit toujours être supérieure à la vitesse maximale de la machine sur laquelle elle est montée.

• N’utilisez pas d’entretoise pour forcer le montage d’un disque inadapté sur votre machine.

• Assurez-vous le disque soit correctement posé et ﬁxé avant l’utilisation. Faites tourner la machine avec le disque posé, sans charge, pendant 30 secondes avant d’entreprendre la découpe / le meulage. S’il apparaît une vibration excessive, arrêter la machine et remédier à la cause avant utilisation. N’hésitez pas de demander l’assistance d’un professionnel au cas de doute sur l’utilisation des gardes ou tout autre aspect de la sécurité d’utilisation de ce produit.

• Examinez les disques à tronçonner/meuler avant l’utilisation. Si un disque est endommagé de quelque manière que ce soit (écaillé, fracturé, etc.), NE L’UTILISEZ PAS. Jetez le disque et remplacez-le. Si vous n’êtes pas sûr de l’état du disque, NE L’UTILISEZ PAS et jetez-le.

• Vériﬁez que les accessoires sont en bon état d’utilisation et vériﬁez la date d’expiration se trouvant sur l’étiquette. Des disques à tronçonner, à meuler dont la date d’expiration est dépassée, ne peuvent pas être utilisés en toute sécurité.

• N’exposez pas les disques à l’humidité et à la graisse. Si vous soupçonnez qu’un disque s’est dégradé pendant son entreposage, NE L’UTILISEZ PAS.

• N’entreprenez pas de tronçonner ni de meuler du magnésium ni aucun alliage contenant une forte proportion de magnésium.

• N’entamez pas de coupe dépassant la profondeur maximale de coupe du disque.

• Maintenez la machine de façon à éviter de recevoir des débris sur la peau ou vos vêtements.

• Ne touchez pas au verrouillage de la broche pendant le fonctionnement de la meuleuse.

• Ne vous placez pas dans l’alignement direct du disque de coupe / meulage pendant l’utilisation.

• la machine continue à tourner pendant un certain temps après avoir été éteinte. Laissez la machine s’arrêter d’elle-même. Ne l’arrêtez pas en calant le disque contre un quelconque objet. NE déposez JAMAIS la meuleuse avant l’arrêt complet du disque.

• Un disque de meulage s’use à l’usage et sa taille diminue. Une fois que le disque est trop usé pour pouvoir travailler confortablement, remplacez-le.

Si c’est le cas, arrêter la machine immédiatement, enlever le disque, inspecter, re-monter et re-tester si il n’y a aucun endommagement.

• Pour l’utilisation d’un disque superabrasif avec un liquide de refroidissement, un liquide dépoussiérant, ou un lubriﬁant, vériﬁer d’abord que le disque, la machine et le matériau de la pièce de travail soient compatible pour une utilisation de tronçonnage humide et avec le produit utilisé. Toujours appliquer le produit lorsque le disque est en rotation, jamais à l’arrêt, car le déséquilibre peut engendrer la rupture du disque. Pour arrêter la machine, retirer dans un premier temps l’alimentation du liquide, laisser la machine fonctionner à vide, jusqu’à ce que la force centrifuge ait drainé tout le liquide se trouvant sur le disque. Sécher le disque après usage et éviter que le liquide soit absorbé par le disque.

Consignes de sécurité supplémentaires concernant l’utilisation des disques superabrasifs

• Les disques superabrasifs sont en général rigides et peuvent se briser. Par conséquent ils doivent être utilisés avec la plus grande précaution. Utiliser des superabrasifs endommagés ou installés incorrectement est dangereux et peut provoquer des blessures sérieuses sur l’utilisateur ou les personnes aux alentours.

• Les disques superabrasifs englobent les disques diamantés à tronçonner, disques en métal soudés, disques CBN, etc… Choisissez correctement le type de superabrasifs en fonction du matériau de la pièce de travail, des dimensions de la machine et de sa capacité. Vériﬁez que la vitesse de la machine n’excède pas la vitesse maximale du disque superabrasif.

• Ne jamais utiliser un disque superabrasif à tronçonner pour effectuer un meulage latéral, car cela peut briser le disque.

• Les disques superabrasifs doivent être inspectés avec soin et testés avant d’être installés. Pour les disques en métal, effectuez un test du son : placez le disque sur un mandrin ou sur un doigt à travers l’alésage, puis tapez sur plusieurs endroits du disque avec un objet non métallique, et écoutez à chaque fois le son produit. Un disque en bon état produit comme un son de cloche métallique, alors qu’in disque endommagé produira un son sourd. En cas de doute, NE PAS UTILISER, INDIQUER COMME USÉ ET JETER.

• Vériﬁer que la bride de montage soit compatible avec le disque superabrasif. Référez-vous aux consignes d’utilisation du fabricant du disque.

• Toujours effectuer un test après le montage du disque, en mettant en marche à vide, pendant une trentaine de secondes, aﬁn de vériﬁer que le disque soit bien équilibré et ne produit pas de vibration excessive.

Usage conforme

Meuleuse d’angle utilisant des disques de 115 mm, adaptée aux taches légères et moyennes de meulage et de tronçonnage sur le métal et autres matériaux adaptés.

Déballage

• Déballez le produit avec soin. Veillez à retirer tout le matériau d’emballage et familiarisez-vous avec toutes les caractéristiques du produit.

• Si des pièces sont endommagées ou manquantes, faites-les réparer ou remplacer avant d’utiliser l’appareil.

Avant utilisation

ATTENTION : Assurez-vous que l’outil soit débranché de l’alimentation électrique avant de monter ou de changer des accessoires, ou d’effectuer des réglages. Ne montez jamais un accessoire dont la vitesse maximale est inférieure à la vitesse à vide de l’appareil.

• Tous les disques et accessoires doivent être inspectés visuellement avant toute installation aﬁn de vériﬁer qu’ils soient en bonne condition et que la date d’expiration ne soit pas dépassée. En cas de doute, NE PAS UTILISER ET JETER.

• Vériﬁez que les accessoires et les pièces soient bien assemblés, et que les parties rotatives ne peuvent pas entrer en contact avec les gardes de protection ou le corps de la machine.

• Tenez toujours la machine à deux mains par les poignées.

• Sachez que le boitier en métal de la machine peut devenir très chaud pendant l’utilisation.

• De l’air chaud s’émane des oriﬁces de ventilation.

• Assurez-vous que les oriﬁces de ventilation ne soient pas obstrués.
