Instruções de segurança
PERIGO - CHOQUE ELÉTRICO!
► Certifi que-se de que a base com as ligações elétricas nunca en-
tra em contacto com água! Deixe a base secar totalmente, caso
tenha fi cado húmida acidentalmente.
► Utilize o jarro elétrico apenas com a base fornecida.
► Certifi que-se de que o cabo de rede nunca fi ca molhado ou hú-
mido durante o funcionamento. Disponha o cabo de modo a que
este não fi que entalado nem danifi cado.
► Fichas de rede ou cabos de alimentação danifi cados devem
ser imediatamente substituídos por técnicos autorizados ou pelo
serviço de apoio ao cliente, de modo a evitar perigos.
► Após a utilização, retire sempre a fi cha da tomada. Não basta
desligar porque ainda existe alguma tensão de rede no aparelho
enquanto a fi cha de rede estiver inserida na tomada.
► Antes da utilização, verifi que o aparelho quanto a danos exterio-
res visíveis. Não tente colocar em funcionamento um aparelho
avariado ou que tenha sido sujeito a uma queda.
► Solicite a reparação do aparelho apenas a empresas autoriza-
das ou ao serviço de assistência ao cliente. Reparações indevidas podem acarretar perigo para o utilizador. Além disso, a
garantia extingue-se.
Nunca mergulhe o aparelho em água ou outros líquidos!
Aqui pode existir perigo de morte por choque elétrico, caso
se verifi que uma infi ltração de resíduos líquidos, durante o
funcionamento, nas peças condutoras de tensão.

AVISO - PERIGO DE FERIMENTOS!
► Aqueça a água sempre com a tampa fechada, caso contrário o
dispositivo de desativação automática não funciona. A água a
ferver pode transbordar.
► Pode ser libertado vapor muito quente. Além disso, o jarro fi ca muito
quente durante o funcionamento. Por isso, utilize luvas de cozinha.
► Antes de ligar o aparelho, certifi que-se de que este se encontra
numa posição estável e na vertical. Se o aparelho não assentar
corretamente, a água a ferver pode fazê-lo cair.
► Não abra a tampa enquanto a água estiver a ferver.
► Este aparelho pode ser utilizado por pessoas com capacidades
físicas, sensoriais ou mentais reduzidas ou com falta de experiência
e/ou conhecimento, se estas forem supervisionadas ou se forem
instruídas relativamente à utilização correcta do aparelho e tiverem
compreendido os perigos daí resultantes.

Desembalamento
♦ Retire todas as peças e o manual de instruções da caixa.
♦ Retire todo o material de embalagem.
Eliminação da embalagem
A embalagem protege o aparelho contra danos durante o transporte.
Os materiais da embalagem são selecionados de acordo com os pontos de
vista ecológicos e técnicos de eliminação e, por isso, são recicláveis.
A reciclagem da embalagem permite a preservação de matérias-primas e reduz
a formação de resíduos. Elimine os materiais da embalagem, que já não são
necessários, de acordo com as prescrições locais em vigor.

■ Limpe todas as superfícies exteriores e o cabo de rede com um pano
ligeiramente humedecido. Seque sempre muito bem o aparelho antes de o
utilizar novamente. Em caso de sujidade profunda, aplique um detergente
suave no pano. Certifi que-se de que não se encontram quaisquer resíduos
de detergente no aparelho, antes de o colocar em funcionamento.
Em caso de resíduos de calcário
As acumulações de calcário no aparelho provocam perdas de energia e condicionam a durabilidade do aparelho.
Descalcifi que o aparelho, logo que seja perceptível uma acumulação de calcário.
■ Antes da descalcifi cação, retire o elemento fi ltrante de calcário 7 (v
capítulo "Retirar / colocar o elemento fi ltrante de calcário").
■ Utilize um descalcifi cador adequado para recipientes de alimentos (por

x. descalcifi cador para máquinas de café). Proceda tal como descrito nas
instruções do descalcifi cador.
■ Depois de retirar o calcário, lave o aparelho muito bem com muita água
limpa.
Colocar/retirar o elemento fi ltrante de calcário
1) Abra a tampa.
2) Retire o elemento fi ltrante de calcário 7 puxando-o para fora do suporte,
pressionando ligeiramente a partir do interior contra os cantos superiores.
3) Limpe o elemento fi ltrante de calcário 7 com um pano ligeiramente humedecido e sob água corrente.
4) Após a limpeza, coloque novamente o elemento fi ltrante de calcário 7.
Certifi que-se de que o suporte encaixou e o elemento fi ltrante de calcário 7
está fi xo.
NOTA

► Se o elemento fi ltrante de calcário 7 apr
coloque-o durante algumas horas numa solução de água e vinagre, numa
proporção de 6:1. Os resíduos de calcário soltam-se. Lave o elemento
fi ltrante de calcário 7 abundantemente com água limpa.

■ Enrole o cabo de rede no dispositivo de enrolamento do cabo 4 por baix
da base 3.
■ Guarde o aparelho num local seco.

Safety instructions

► Ensure that the base with the electrical connections NEVER comes
into contact with water! Ensure that the base is completely dry
before use, especially if it has accidentally become wet.
► Use the kettle only with the supplied base.
► Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp during
operation. Lay the cable so that it cannot be trapped or otherwise
damaged.
► To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or cables to be
replaced at once by qualifi ed technicians or our Customer Service Department.
► After use, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket.
Switching the appliance off is not suffi cient, because the appliance is under power for as long as the plug is connected to the
power socket.
► Before use check the appliance for signs of visible external dam-
age. Do not put into operation an appliance that is damaged or
has been dropped.
► Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist
companies or by the Customer Service department. Incompetent
repairs can result in signifi cant risks for the user. In addition warranty claims become void.

► Heat water only with the lid closed, otherwise the automatic switch-
off cannot function. Boiling water could then spray out over the rim.
► Hot steam clouds may be released. The kettle also becomes very
hot during use. It is always best to wear oven mitts when handling
the kettle.
► Ensure that the appliance is stood stably and vertically before
switching it on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to fall over.
► Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
► This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or
knowledge if they are supervised or, in regard to the safe use of
the appliance, have been instructed in its use and have understood the potential risks.

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and
reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is
no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations.

■ Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slightly damp cloth.
Be sure to dry the appliance well before taking it back into use. For stubborn
soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Ensure that there are no detergent
residues in and on the appliance before it is taken back into use.
In the event of scale deposits:
Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy consumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.
Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.
■ Before descaling, remove the scale fi lter insert 7 (see chapter “Inser
removing the scale fi lter insert”).
■ Use a descaler designed for household appliances (e.g. for coff ee machines).

agent.
■ After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean water.
Inserting/removing the scale fi lter insert
1) Open the lid.
2) Pull the scale fi lter insert 7 upwards out of its holder while pressing lightly
against the top corners.
3) Clean the scale fi lter insert 7 with a slightly moistened dishcloth and under
running water.
4) After cleaning, insert the scale fi lter insert 7 again. Ensure that the holder
engages and that the scale fi lter insert 7 is fi rmly seated.
NOTE
► If the scale deposits in the scale fi lter insert 7 hav
fi lter in a water-vinegar solution at a ratio of 6:1 for a few hours. The scale
deposits will dissolve themselves. Rinse the scale fi lter insert 7 with plenty
of clear water.

Sockel.
► Achten Sie darauf, dass im Betrieb das Netzkabel niemals nass

oder anderweitig beschädigt werden kann.
► Lassen Sie beschädigte Netzstecker oder Netzkabel sofort von
autorisiertem Fachpersonal oder dem Kundenservice austauschen,
um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.
► Ziehen Sie nach Gebrauch immer den Stecker aus der Steckdose.
Ausschalten alleine genügt nicht, weil noch immer Netzspannung im Gerät anliegt, solange der Netzstecker in der Steckdose
steckt.
► Kontrollieren Sie das Gerät vor der Verwendung auf äußere sichtbare
Schäden. Nehmen Sie ein beschädigtes oder heruntergefallenes Gerät
nicht in Betrieb.
► Lassen Sie Reparaturen am Gerät nur von autorisierten Fachbe-
trieben oder dem Kundenservice durchführen. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen.

Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten! Hier kann Lebensgefahr durch elektrischen Schlag

► Erhitzen Sie Wasser immer nur bei geschlossenem Deckel, andern-
falls funktioniert die Abschaltautomatik nicht. Kochendes Wasser
kann dann über den Rand herausspritzen.
► Es können heiße Dampfschwaden entweichen. Die Kanne ist zu-
dem im Betrieb sehr heiß. Tragen Sie daher Topf-Handschuhe.
► Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät stabil und
senkrecht steht, bevor Sie dieses einschalten. Kochendes Wasser
kann ein unstabil stehendes Gerät zum Umstürzen bringen.
► Öff nen Sie nicht den Deckel, während das Wasser kocht.
► Geräte können von Personen mit reduzierten physischen, sensori-
schen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und/

Entsorgung der Verpackung
Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.
Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoff e und
verringert das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungsmaterialien gemäß den örtlich geltenden Vorschriften.

Befüllen Sie das Gerät mit Wasser bis zur MAX-Markierung und lassen Sie
es einmal ganz aufkochen – wie im nächsten Kapitel beschrieben.
2) Gießen Sie dieses Wasser nach dem Aufkochen weg.
3) Spülen Sie die Kanne mit klarem Wasser aus.
4) Befüllen Sie das Gerät noch einmal mit Wasser bis zur MAX-Markierung und
lassen Sie es aufkochen. Gießen Sie auch dieses Wasser weg.
Das Gerät ist nun betriebsbereit.

► Verwenden Sie immer frisches Trinkwasser. Verzehren Sie kein Wasser,

Kochen Sie kein erkaltetes Wasser erneut auf. Schütten Sie altes Wasser
immer weg. Es können sich Keime bilden!

4) Schließen Sie erst den Deckel und setzen danach die Kanne so auf den
Sockel 3, dass diese fest auf dem Sockel 3 steht.
5) Stellen Sie den Temperaturregler 5 in die gewünschte Stellung. Um das
Wasser zum Kochen zu bringen, müssen Sie den Temperaturregler 5 in den
Kochbereich (rot markierter Bereich am Temperaturregler 5) auf die Position
MAX stellen.
6) Stecken Sie nun den Netzstecker in die Steckdose.
7) Drücken Sie den EIN-/AUS-Schalter 2 nach unten, so dass er einrastet.
8) Die im EIN-/AUS-Schalter 2 integrierte Kontrollleuchte zeigt an, dass das
Gerät nun aufheizt.

Temperaturregler im Kochbereich:
– Das Gerät schaltet von selber ab und die Kontrollleuchte erlischt,
sobald das Wasser kocht. Der EIN-/AUS-Schalter 2 springt heraus.
– Um das Wasser nach dem Kochen warm zu halten, stellen Sie den
emperaturregler 5 in den Warmhaltebereich (schwarz markierter

Bereich am Temperaturregler 5) und drücken Sie den EIN-/AUSSchalter 2 nach unten, bis er einrastet und die integrierte Kontrollleuchte leuchtet.
Die Warmhaltefunktion können Sie zum Beispiel dazu verwenden,
Wasser warmzuhalten, um heißes Wasser zur frischen Teezubereitung, auch mehrmals hintereinander, zur Verfügung zu haben.

■ Reinigen Sie alle Außenfl ächen und das Netzkabel mit einem leicht ange-
feuchteten Spültuch. Trocknen Sie das Gerät auf jeden Fall gut ab, bevor Sie
es erneut verwenden. Bei hartnäckigeren Verschmutzungen geben Sie ein
mildes Spülmittel auf das Tuch. Achten Sie darauf, dass sich keine Spülmittelreste am und im Gerät befi nden, bevor Sie es wieder in Betrieb nehmen.
Bei Kalk-Rückständen
Kalkablagerungen im Gerät führen zu Energieverlusten und beeinträchtigen die
Lebensdauer des Gerätes.
Entkalken Sie das Gerät, sobald sich Kalkablagerungen zeigen.
■ Nehmen Sie vor dem Entkalken den Kalkfi ltereinsatz 7 her
“Kalkfi ltereinsatz abnehmen / einsetzen“).
■ Nehmen Sie einen für Lebensmittelbehälter geeigneten Kalklöser aus dem
