Dear Customer, Thank you for your purchasing this hair and beard clippers. We hope you enjoy using it.
You can use this hair and beard clippers and its adjustable comb attachment to cut various lengths of hair and clean contours. A thinning function is also available. The hair and beard clippers can be operated as a power supply unit (using the mains supply) or also as a battery-operated unit (using recharge­able high-performance batteries) independent of the mains supply.
These instructions will acquaint you with your hair and beard clippers and facilitate its operation. Keep these instructions in a safe place so you can consult them again at a later date.

Proper use
The hair and beard clippers is only suitable for domestic use and is not approved for commercial use. The device is intended only for cutting natural hair. Use on human hair only – not on artificial or animal hair. The warranty is invalidated if the device is used for any purpose other than indicated.

The device will operate at its

J To ensure optimum performance, operate the device only in
accordance with the information on the rating plate.
J Do not expose the hair clippers to temperatures below –10 °C or
above +40 °C.
J Thoroughly clean the device after each use.
To avoid the danger of loss

J Disconnect the mains adapter after use or before cleaning.

while in the bath.
J ATTENTION! Keep the device dry. J Never immerse the device or the lead in water or other liquids. J Operate the device only in compliance with the rating plate. Never
leave the device to operate unattended.
J Pull the mains adapter out of the mains socket
- if a fault occurs,
- before you clean the device,
- if you intend leave the device unused for a long period,
- after every use. When doing this pull directly on the mains adapter and not on the
lead.
J Stop using the device immediately if the lead, mains adapter,
housing or any other part is found to be damaged.
J Have all repairs carried out by a specialist dealer or through our
Service Centre (see the warranty sheet).

falls into the water, the first thing you must do is pull the mains adapt­er out of the mains socket before you put your hands into the water.
c CAUTION! DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Never touch
the mains adapter with wet hands particularly when you insert or pull out the adapter from the mains socket.
J Handle the mains adapter only by its body when you insert it into
the mains socket.
J Incorporation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated trip
current of not more than 30 mA will provide you with additional protection against electric shock. Have this RCD incorporated by an electrician.
J Use only the supplied original mains adapter for mains operation. J Regularly check the adapter and the hair and beard clippers for
any possible mechanical defects.
J Replace defective parts with original replacement parts obtained from
a specialist dealer but never attempt to repair the device yourself!
J Have all repairs carried out by a specialist dealer or through our
Service Centre (see Service Hotline on the warranty sheet).

Ensure that the lead does not become trapped in cup-
board doors or pass over hot surfaces. Otherwise you risk damaging the insulation on the lead.

The hair and beard clippers can be used as a battery-powered device or as a device operated by the mains power supply (using the adapter).

Operation with the adapter
j First insert the adapter cable into the port 7 of the hair and
beard clippers and insert the adapter into a properly installed socket (230 V ~). The hair and beard clippers is now ready for immediate use with mains operation.

Charging the rechargeable batteries and battery operation
Tip: The rechargeable batteries of the hair and beard clippers achieve
optimal performance after they have been charged and discharged 3

shines red and indicates that charging is in process. When the batteries have been fully charged, the hair and beard clippers can be operated for 60 minutes without being connected to the mains supply.
j Always completely discharge the rechargeable batteries before
recharging them in order to ensure they last a long time.

Tip: The hair to be cut should be clean and dry.
j Comb your hair through carefully to remove any knots. j Place the hairdresser’s cape or a cloth around the throat and neck
to prevent hair from dropping into the collar.

Tip: First cut the hair to a longer length than is required, then proceed
in stages until you achieve the desired length.
j Fit the comb attachment

j Push it over the guide grooves on the sides of the hair and beard
clippers.

j Make sure that you can feel the two mounting ribs of the comb

j Choose the length setting you wish to have (4 - 32 mm) by sliding
the comb attachment up and down the trimmer head.

j Always cut from the nape of the neck in the direction of the top of
the head or from the forehead and temples upwards towards the centre of the head.
Note: In order to improve cutting performance, place a drop of oil on the shaver head

. This is particularly recommendable after cleaning. Wipe excess oil away with a cloth (see also section called “Cleaning and care”).

Set the desired cutting length depending on how long you want your beard to be. Now gradually trim your beard.

As the device is not waterproof, the hair and beard clippers should not be immersed in water or other liquids when cleaning it. This could lead to live parts (rechargeable batteries) being damaged.

Remove the adapter from the socket before cleaning the hair and beard clippers.

Never touch the mains adapter with wet hands when you insert or pull out the adapter from the mains socket.

Always keep the mains adapter and lead dry.

(see Figs. B+C).
j Clean the hair and beard clippers with the cleaning brush. j Push the projection of the cutting attachment

j Only use acid-free oil, e.g. sewing machine oil. j Remove the comb attachment

j Put one or two drops of oil between the blades and distribute the
oil evenly.

Disposal / Removing the batteries
Do not dispose of the batteries or the device with normal
household refuse. Contact your local council to find out
about environmentally friendly and proper disposal of the device (as electrical scrap). Observe the applicable local and national disposal regulations with regard to separation of materials, waste collection and recycling centres.
The packaging is wholly composed of environmentally
friendly materials that can be disposed of at a local
recycling centre.
The following parts should be disposed of separately:
- Motor, metal parts, circuit board
- Mains adapter
- Plastic parts
- Rechargeable batteries
Take these parts for recycling.
Q
Removing the batteries
m CAUTION! Do not operate a hair and beard clippers that has been taken apart! Do not short-circuit the dismantled rechargeable batteries; they could be very hot if they are still live! This is how you take the device apart so that it can be disposed of in an environmen­tally friendly way:
j Disconnect the cable from the hair and beard clippers. j Completely discharge the rechargeable batteries by allowing the
switched-on hair and beard clippers to come to a complete stand­still without it being connected to the adapter cable.

j Remove the comb attachment 1 and the trimmer head 2. j Unscrew the three screws on the back of the device with a small
Phillips screwdriver (see Fig. E).
j Open up the two halves of the casing. j Unscrew the two screws on the circuit-board fastener with a small
Phillips screwdriver (see Fig. F).
j Cut through all cables using pliers. j Release the rechargeable batteries from the circuit board
(see Fig. G) and dispose of them at a suitable collection point.

Warranty and service
For details of the service hotline for your country, please refer to the enclosed warranty documents. Our device was manufactured with the greatest of care. Nevertheless, in the event of a malfunction we guarantee the quality and function of the product within the scope of our terms of guarantee. The warranty period is 36 months and begins on the date of purchase. Please retain your receipt as proof of the purchase date. The statutory warranty is not restricted by this guarantee.
The guarantee excludes:
- parts subject to regular wear and tear such as all trimming and
cutting parts.
- damage to fragile parts.
- damage resulting from unauthorised interference.
- damage resulting from the use of non-original spare parts.
- damage resulting from improper handling.
- damage resulting from force majeure.
- damage resulting from non-compliance with the care instructions.
