Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.

You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information on safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all handling and safety guidelines. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications speciﬁ ed. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner.

Intended use

This appliance serves as a wireless doorbell system to announce visitors, allowing for the operation of a door bell without any wiring. The appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use beyond the scope described. The appliance is not intended for use in commercial or industrial environments. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe these instructions, improper use or repairs, unauthorised modiﬁ cations or the use of unapproved replacement parts. The risk shall be borne solely by the user.

Safety

This section contains important safety instructions for using the appliance. This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage.

Basic safety guidelines

■ This appliance may be used by children aged

8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not use the appliance as a plaything. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.

■ The mains plug is used as a separator from the

electricity grid and must always be readily accessible.

■ Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incor-

rectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

■ Do not place any sources of naked ﬂ ames, such

as lighted candles, on the appliance.

■ Check the appliance for visible external damage

before use. Do not operate an appliance that has been damaged or dropped.

■ Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight

or high temperatures. Otherwise it may overheat and be irreparably damaged.

■ Do not expose the receiver to water spray or

drips, and do not place liquid-ﬁ lled objects such as vases or open drink containers on or near the receiver.

■ Warning: electrical voltage!

Never open the housing of the receiver. There are no user-serviceable or replaceable components inside the appliance.

■ Do not make any unauthorised modiﬁ cations or

alterations to the appliance.

■ All repairs must be carried out by authorised

specialist companies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs may put the user at risk. It will also invalidate any warranty claims.

■ Unplug the appliance immediately if you smell

burning or notice smoke. Have the appliance checked by a qualiﬁ ed specialist before using it again.

DANGER

Mishandling the batteries can cause ﬁ res, explosions, leakages or other hazards! In order to handle batteries safely, please observe the following safety instructions:

► Do not throw the batteries into a ﬁ re and do not

subject them to high temperatures.

► Do not open, deform or short-circuit batteries,

since this can lead to chemical leakage.

► Do not attempt to recharge the batteries. ► Check the condition of the batteries at regular

intervals. Leaking chemicals can cause permanent

damage to the appliance. Take particular care

when handling damaged or leaking batteries.

Risk of acid burns! Wear protective gloves.

► Chemicals that leak from a battery can cause

skin irritation. In the event of contact with the

skin, rinse with plenty of water. If the chemicals

come into contact with your eyes, rinse thorough-

ly with water, do not rub and consult a doctor

immediately.

► Keep batteries out of the reach of children.

Children might put batteries into their mouth and

swallow them. If a battery has been swallowed,

seek medical assistance IMMEDIATELY.

Always insert the batteries the right way round

(observe correct polarity) otherwise there is a

danger that they could explode.

► If you do not intend to use the appliance for a

long time, remove the batteries.

► Do not ingest the battery – there is a risk of

chemical burns!

► This product contains a button cell battery.

Swallowing the button cell battery can cause

severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead

to death.

► Keep new and old batteries away from children. ► If the battery compartment does not close

securely, stop using the product and keep it away

from children.

Do not allow children to play with the packaging material! Keep all packaging materials out of the reach of children. Risk of suﬀ ocation!

Operation

Check the package contents

(See fold-out page for illustrations) The scope of delivery includes the following compo-

nents:

● 1 x receiver

● 1 x sender

● 1 x 3V battery, type CR2032

● 5 x name plates

● 2 x wall plugs with screws for sender assembly

● 1 x double-sided adhesive tape

● These operating instructions ♦ Remove all parts of the appliance from the pack-

aging and remove all packaging materials.

♦ Check the package for completeness and for

signs of visible damage.

♦ If the delivery is incomplete or damage has

occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact the Service hotline (see chapter entitled Service).

Disposal of packaging materials

The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.

Returning the packaging into the material cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste generated.

Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.

Power supply: receiver

The receiver is plugged into a properly installed mains power outlet and does not require batteries.

Inserting/replacing the batteries

♦ Detach the mounting plate q from the transmitter. ♦ Grip the battery compartment cover 0 on both

tabs and pull it oﬀ .

♦ Insert a 3V battery, type CR 2032, into the

battery compartment 9. The side of the battery marked with a “+” must be facing upwards.

♦ Slide the battery compartment cover 0 back

onto the battery compartment 9 until it clicks into place. Ensure that the sealing ring is properly inserted into the frame of the battery compartment 9. Otherwise, IP protection is not provided.

♦ To reattach the mounting plate

to the transmitter, hook one side of the transmitter into the gap of the mounting plate

, then push the transmit-

ter downwards until it clicks into place.

NOTE

►

If the performance of appliance reduces or completely stops, it means the battery is exhausted. Replace the used battery with a new one of the same type.

Handling and operation

Selecting the signal type

The receiver can indicate the reception of a doorring signal either optically, acoustically, or optically and acoustically.

♦ To select, move the signal type switch 3 to the

desired position:

— acoustic ringer signal only, the selected

melody will be played

— optical ringer signal only, the signal

display ﬂ ashes

— optical and acoustic ringer signal

volume is set.

Selecting the ringer melody

There are 36 diﬀ erent ringer melodies stored in the appliance.

♦ Press the melody select button 5. ♦ Stop the selection when you hear the desired

melody. The appliance will use the last-played melody.

NOTE

►

If you remove the receiver from the mains socket, the set melody remains saved for approximately 40 seconds. After this time, you need to set your desired melody anew.

Synchronising the sender and receiver

The transmitter and receiver of this wireless doorbell system can communicate with each other via a number of diﬀ erent codings. This means that you can operate up to 5 transmitters with one receiver. In addition, you can extend the wireless doorbell system with any number of receivers. This is only possible if the sender and receiver within a system are working on the same frequency, however. For this, you must synchronise the appliances as follows:

♦ Press the synchronisation button 6 on the

receiver.

♦ Now press the ringer button 8 on the transmitter.

If the synchronisation has been a success, the receiver notiﬁ es you of the programmed call signal. Should the receiver not react as described, repeat the synchronisation.

Mounting the transmitter

♦ Select a suitable positioning for the sender, close

to your outer door.

♦ Mark the positions for the required drill holes

with the help of the mounting plate q and drill the holes for the supplied wall plugs r (6mm drill).

♦ Push the wall plugs into the drill holes and screw

the mounting plate q onto the wall using the screws t.

♦ Push the transmitter onto the mounting plate q

until it clicks audibly into place.

NOTE

►

Alternatively, you can mount the transmitter onto a suitable surface using the double-sided adhesive tape w.

♦ Label one of the supplied name plates e. If you

label the name plate by hand, make sure you use a waterproof pen.

♦ Remove the name plate cover 7 from the trans-

mitter and insert your name plate into the recess on the transmitter.

♦ Replace the name plate cover 7 on the trans-

mitter.

Maintenance

The appliance is maintenance-free. No form of maintenance, either on or in the appliance, is intended for execution by the user. In the event of malfunction or apparent damage, contact Customer Services. If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries.

Troubleshooting

There is no ring when pressing the ringer button

♦ Check whether there is a battery (type CR2032)

in the transmitter.

♦ Check whether the power outlet being used for

the receiver is working properly.

♦ It is possible that the transmitter is not synchro-

nised with the receiver. Repeat the synchronisation.

♦ Ensure that the signal type switch is set to the

position

The range is reduced

♦ A weak battery will reduce the range. Change

the battery every 12–18 months.

♦ Metal constructions, walls, ceilings or other ap-

pliances that use the same frequency can aﬀ ect the range. Try to avoid mounting the transmitter in the immediate vicinity of any metal parts.

If you cannot solve the problem with the above-mentioned solutions, please contact the Service Hotline (see chapter entitled Service).

Cleaning

CAUTION!

►

There are no serviceable parts or parts requiring cleaning inside the appliance. Moisture can cause damage to the appliance.

► Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based

cleaning materials. These can damage the surfaces of the appliance.

♦ Clean the housing of the appliance with a lightly

moistened cloth and a mild detergent only.

Storage when not in use

♦ Store the appliance in a location which is clean,

dry, dust-free and not in direct sunlight.

Disposal

Disposal of the appliance

The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin means that this appliance is

subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be handed over to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.

This disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly.

You can obtain further information from your local disposal company or the city or local authority.

Disposal of batteries

Used batteries may not be disposed of in domestic waste. Batteries can contain poisons which are damaging to the environment. Therefore, dispose of the batteries/rechargeable batteries in accordance with statutory regulations. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their community/city district or with a collection company. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that batteries are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

Dear Customer, This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the

date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.

Warranty conditions

The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of purchase.

If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our discretion. This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault and its time of occurrence.

If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs eﬀ ected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty

This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.

The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such as switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made of glass.

The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.

This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modiﬁ cations / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.

Warranty claim procedure

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:

■ Please have the till receipt and the item number

(e.g. IAN 12345) available as proof of purchase.

■ You will ﬁ nd the item number on the type plate,

an engraving on the front page of the instructions (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the appliance.

■ If functional or other defects occur, please con-

tact the service department listed either by tele- phone or by e-mail.

■ You can return a defective product to us free of

charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
