Thread Unreeling Disc
The thread unreeling disc (in the accessory box) is used for small spools/spools with notched or rough ends. Place the spool on the spool pin. Place the thread unreeling disc on top of the spool. Make sure the spool dise is used under the spool.
Thread Net
Synthetic threads generally unwind too quickly from the thread spool. Thread nets have been included to allow easy use of these threads. Pull the thread net (located in the accessory box) over the spool from below. Place the spool on the spool holder catching the bottom of the thread net with the spool pin.
Foam Pads/ Cone Holders
If you are using large cones (5,000 10,000 mm), the foam pads and the cone holders will be helpful to you.
With synthetic threads, the foam pads catch threads that have slipped down and help to advance the thread flawlessly.
Cone holders serve to ensure that large cones are well positioned.
Telescopic Thread Guide
Pull the telescopic thread guide upwards to its highest position.
To ensure optimum thread feed, turn the telescopic parts slowly until you hear the locking balls fick into place.

The offers a choice of 5 needle positions. You can sew with as many as 3 needles simultaneously. The needle positions are L1, L2, L3, R1 and R2. A retaining screw is provided above each needle.
Please Note: If the needles are inserted at R1
and R2, the left needle is slightly higher than the right.
Please Note: Presser foot should be lowered when sewing.

To insert: Insert the needle in hole A of the needle changing tool so that the flat side B of the needle is opposite face of the tool. Insert the needle as far as it will go into the needle holder (you may have to push a little harder by hand) and tighten the retaining screw. Remove the needle changing tool.
Lower the presser foot and raise the needle(s) to its/their highest position. Take the needle changing tool out of the accessory box and push it up over the needle as far as it will go. Loosen (but do not remove) the needle s retaining screw with the allen key and pull the needle out from below.

Connecting the machine
Before connecting the power supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency shown on the machine is conforming with your electrical power.
Place machine on a stable surface.
1. Connect the power line cord to the machine by inserting the 3 pin plug into the power cord socket.
2. Connect the power line plug to the electric outlet.
3. Turn on the power switch.
4. The sewing lamp will light up when the switch is turned on.
To disconnect, turn the power switch to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.
Caution: Always make sure that the machine is unplugged from power source and the main switch is on "O" when the machine is not in use and before inserting or removing parts.

11
Polarized plug information This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other),
to reduce the risk of electrical shock; this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
Page 14
Attention: Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt as how to connect the machine to the power source. Unplug the power cord when the machine is not in use.
Unplug power cord when machine is not in use.
The foot control must be used with the appliance by 4C-316B (110-120V area) / 4C326G (220-240V area).
With the sewing machine turned off, insert the foot control plug into its connector on the sewing machine.
Turn on the sewing machine, and then slowly depress the foot control to start sewing.
Release the foot control to stop the sewing machine.
Foot control
The preset presser foot pressure on the machine is suitable for medium fabrics. For most fabrics, the presser foot pressure does not need to be altered. If you intend to work with lighter or heavier fabrics, however, it may be necessary to reset the pressure. In this case, you can choose from six positions; make your selection with the presser foot pressure adjustment knob. The standard setting is N .
Lower the presser foot before turning the presser foot pressure adjustment knob. This makes the knob easier to turn.

Upper looper (green)
Turn the hand wheel towards you until the upper looper reaches its highest position.
From the front, pass the thread through the eye 9 of the upper looper. Pull about 10cm (5 inches) of thread through the hook and place it facing to the left under the presser foot.
Thread the thread in thread guides 1 to 7. Pass the thread over the top of guide 8 from above and pull it down and to the left until it slips into the guide.

Important note on threading
The needles must always be threaded last so that the needle threads do not run under the looper thread as seen in drawing 1, but instead over the looper thread as depicted in drawing 2. Should this sequence not be followed, thread breakage or missed stitches can occur.
20
Threading the needles
If the looper threads break, you must pull the needle threads out of the needle eye, rethread the loopier thread and then rethread the needle threads.
Page 23
Now you can use the needle threader to pull the thread loop through to the rear.
Place the needle threader against the front groove of the needle. Move down as far as the eye of the needle and press the threader gently against the needle. This causes a small metal pin to pass through the eye and the needle is threaded automatically.
Please Note: If you press too hard, the small metal pin will bend and you will no longer be able to use the threader to thread the needle.
Raise the needles into their highest position and lower the presser foot. Place the thread running from right to left in notch A of the needle threader (the needle threader is included in the accessory box). One of the two triangles must be pointing upwards.

Place the fabric just in front of the needles. If necessary, first cut about 3 cm along the cutting line with a pair of scissors. Lower the presser foot and start sewing. The thread chain will be drawn inside the seam automatically.
Please Note: This technique cannot be used for the 5-thread safety seam, the 4-thread safety seam, the double chain stitch, the rolled hem, or for sewing in the fabric.
At the end of a seam, sew a thread chain of 15 to 20 cm and pull the thread chain from back to front over the thread chain cutter.
This will cut off the thread chain.
