"Crystal Reflections" CR30
An alerting device with
style!
Congratulations on purchasing the CR30 wireless multi-function
alerting device from Silent Call Communications. The CR30
represents a new era in wireless alerting devices… functional yet
attractive and stylish at the same time. Place the CR30 on a table
and no one has to know that it is an alerting device.
The CR30 is compatible with all Silent Call transmitters. The transmitter(s) may be placed
up to 100 feet the CR30. When the CR30 receives a signal from a transmitter, it flashes
its decorative crystal in a unique flash pattern for each received signal.
Setup
1. Plug the connector on the supplied AC adapter into the

receptacle on the CR30
rear panel.
2. If desired, plug a telephone cable into the
In put
receptacle on the rear of the CR30
and into any telephone outlet. If there is no telephone outlet near the CR30, you can
also use a Silent Call telephone transmitter to activate the telephone indication.
3. Plug the power supply into an AC outlet. The CR30 will flash once, indicating it is ready
for operation as long as you have not changed the code switch setting in your
transmitters from the factory setting of OFF, OFF, OFF, ON, ON. If you have
changed the code switches, follow the steps in the programming section (below).
Operation
1. The CR30 crystal will flash a distinct pattern for each type of transmitter it hears.
The indication will continue for about 15 seconds after the transmitter stops
transmitting.
SOUND = three short flashes
PHONE = one long flash
DOOR = two short flashes
WEATHER = one short and one long flash
FIRE = continuous short flashes
CO = three short flashes and one long flash

2. If desired, the lamp may be tested by pressing the test / program button on the rear
panel briefly.
3. An optional VIB-PJ bed vibrator may be connected to the

jack on the CR30
rear panel and will vibrate the same code as the lamp.
Lamp replacement
CAUTION: The lamp can be hot enough to burn you. Leave the CR30 unplugged for at
least 10 minutes before attempting to replace the lamp.
1. To replace the lamp, use a small screwdriver and loosen the setscrew on the upper part
of the right rear leg.
2. Pull the crystal off the base and set it aside.
3. Pull the lamp out of the socket and replace it with a 12V 20W bi-pin halogen bulb. Do
not handle the new bulb. Finger oils can cause the bulb to fail prematurely. Use a
piece of paper or cloth to handle the new bulb. Replace the crystal and setscrew.
4. Replacement bulbs may be purchased from Silent Call Communications.
Programming
1.
If you have not changed the switches inside your transmitter(s) from the factory
setting, no programming is necessary and you can skip this section
.
2. Each Silent Call transmitter has a code switch inside the battery compartment.
Normally, all transmitters at your location should be set to the same code. All Silent
Call transmitters leave the factory set to a default code of 1=OFF, 2=OFF, 3=OFF,
4=ON, 5=ON. This code can be left at the factory setting unless you are within 300
feet of another Silent Call system. In that case, change the position of one or more
switches on ALL transmitters so that all transmitters are set the same and perform an
ALL ERASE (see below).
3. The CR30 needs to “learn” the code of the transmitters it is expected to respond to.
It leaves the factory programmed to the same default code as the transmitters. To
learn a new code, press and hold the Lamp Test / Program button on the rear panel of
the CR30. The lamp will illuminate for approximately eight seconds and go out, leaving
all LEDs illuminated. Release the Lamp Test / Program button. The CR30 is in "learn"
mode as long as the LEDs remain illuminated and is ready to learn and remember the
code of your transmitter(s).
