Introducing the Vista MCE Remote

The Vista MCE Remote will let you access your digital
entertainment with one remote control. Enjoy the freedom
to control your Windows Media Center PC from up to 33
feet away.

Hardware Installation

In order for the Vista MCE Remote and USB receiver to work
properly, the existing USB host adapter must be working
properly. Simply plug the USB receiver into any USB port
and it is ready for use, no driver installation is needed.
The most important button is the Start MCE button. Press
the Start MCE button to launch Vista Media Center

application.

Troubleshooting

When I press the a button on the remote, but nothing
happens. Make sure that the following is true:

1. You are pointing the remote control directly at the
receiver.

2. The USB sensor on the receiver is not covered up
and no natural or artificial light is shining directly
on it.

3. The remote control is within 33 feet of the receiver.

4. You have not minimized or exited Media Center. To
reactivate Media Center, move the mouse, and then
click anywhere in the Media Center window.

5. It takes time for Windows VistaTM to respond to
MCE Remote's initial command. It varies due to
different PC systems CPU speed.
