ExpressCard
The FireWire+Hi-Speed USB ExpressCard adds FireWire and high-speed USB 2.0 interfaces to your notebook computer.

Hot-swapping allows you to connect/detach FireWire/USB devices without first turning your system off

Note: USB 1.1 devices are limited to USB 1.1 speeds even when they are connected to USB 2.0 host adapter or USB 2.0 hubs.

Note: For devices that require more power than provided by both ports, an optional power adapter can be purchased from SIIG online store. Most USB or FireWire devices do not need this optional power adapter to work. However, if your device does not work properly or you experience poor performance, the power supply is recommended.

Hardware Installation
General instructions for installing the card are provided below. Since the design of systems may vary, refer to your system’s reference manual for further information, if needed.
Insert the card into the ExpressCard slot of your system. Make sure it is inserted all the way in for a solid connection.
Driver Installation
Windows will automatically detect and install the correct driver for this board. No additional driver is necessary.
To Verify Windows Installation
1. Check Device Manager to verify successful installation.
Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003: Right click My Computer, click Manage, then click Device Manager.
Windows Vista™: Right click Computer, click Manage, click Continue, then click Device Manager.
2. Double click IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers, and Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller should be displayed.
3. Double click Universal Serial Bus controllers, and Generic USB Hub should be displayed.
Connecting USB Devices
When connecting USB devices, hold the FireWire+Hi­Speed USB ExpressCard so it does not move from side to
side, otherwise, the ExpressCard may eject from the slot.
