Layout

Source Mode
When device is treated as a source, it can gener-
ate different test patterns to the display under
test.
1. Make sure the connection between the device
HDMI output port and the display.
2. Use buttons to select MODE category and
enter SOURCE mode.
3. Use buttons to set up the output signal for-
mat and video testing pattern.

Sink Mode
When device is in sink mode, it can read the HDMI
source information and in addition, the input
HDMI can be passed through to HDMI capable
display if needed
1. Connect the device between HDMI
source and HDMI display.
2. Use buttons to select MODE category
and enter SINK mode.
3. The process of acquiring HDMI info will
take about 3~5 seconds

Sink Mode
In this mode, device oers a link quality estima-
tor following the Character Error Detection
mechanism from HDMI 2.0 specification. The
estimator can provide a basic link quality evalu-
ation regarding the cable or any other HDMI
link connected to device. Please notice that the
evaluation result can provide an insight into the
link quality under testing, but not always reects
the real robustness of HDMI 2.0 full bandwidth
connection. The stability of the full bandwidth
HDMI 2.0 connection is affected not only by
the cable or link quality but also many other
factors, such as, the signal integrity of the source,
the ambient temperature, the reception of the
display, and so on. Therefore the testing result is
just for a reference.
1. Make sure the tight connection

between the device and the cable.
2. Use buttons to select MODE category
and enter CABLE mode.
3. Keep pressing ENTER button for about
5 seconds to start the link test. The
device will evaluate the HDMI signal
quality based on HDMI 2.0 specication
and provide a result, PASS or NG.
Please notice that during testing, device will NOT take any
commands from buttons except ENTER.
Pressing ENTER continuously for 5 seconds will
terminate the evaluation process.

Performance Criteria:
According to HDMI 2.0 specification, the
performance criteria is shown ad the
following table.
Please be advised that the test result is based on
the cable connection and the signal integrity of
both input and output from device.
The indicator is usually a good reference for
cable quality, but any other source or display in
consideration plays an important role in the nal
stability of the HDMI 2.0 connection.
