Audio Connectors
MIC
This connector provides microphone-in function.
LINE In
This connector provides analog line-in function.
Digital Out (Toslink)
Connect to digital input of an external audio device via Digital S/PDIF optical cable (cable not included).
CD-In (J3, J5)
Analog CD-In, connect to CD-ROM or DVD-ROM via audio cable (cable not included).
Aux-In (J7)
Connect to audio output device via audio cable (cable not included).
Front Out (green)
This connector provides front audio output, or you can connect one set of stereo speakers.
Surround(black)
This connector provides rear surround sound output.
Center/Subwoofer Out (yellow)
This connector provides center and subwoofer (LFE) audio output.

Hardware Installation
Note: For low profile systems, replace the currently mounted bracket with the included low profile bracket.
General instructions for installing the card are provided below. Since the design of computer cases and motherboards vary, refer to your computer’s reference manual for further information, if needed.
Static Electricity Discharge may permanently damage your system. Discharge any static electricity build up in your body by touching your computer case for a few seconds. Avoid any contact with internal parts and handle cards only by their external edges.
1. Turn OFF the power to your computer.
2. Unplug the power cord and remove the computer cover.
3. Remove the slot bracket from an available PCIe slot.
4. Carefully align the card to the selected PCIe slot, push the board down firmly, but gently, until it is well seated.
5. Replace the slot bracket holding screw to secure the card.
6. Connect one end of the audio cable from your CD/DVD-ROM to the CD-In on the soundcard.
7. Replace the computer cover and reconnect the power cord.
8. Make your speaker and device connections, then complete the driver installation on the next pages.

Driver Installation
Windows 7 (32-/64-bit)
1. Install the board, then boot up Windows.
2. At the Windows desktop insert the driver CD.
3. At the CD AutoPlay box, click Open folder to view files.
4. Double click Setup (Application).
5. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation.
Windows Vista (32-/64-bit)
1. Install the board, boot up Windows.
2. At Found New Hardware, click Cancel.
3. Insert the software CD. At the CD Auto Play window: click Open folder to
view files. Double click Setup (Application). If CD Auto Play doesn't start: click Start, in the Start
Search box, type D:\setup.exe, press Enter. (Change D: to match your CD/DVD-ROM drive letter)
4. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation.
Windows XP (32-/64-bit)
1. Install the board, boot up Windows.
2. At the Found New Hardware Wizard, click Cancel.
3. Insert the software CD. Click Start, Run, type D:\Setup.exe, then click OK. (Change D: to match your CD/DVD-ROM drive letter)
4. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation.

Windows Server 2003 & 2008 (32-/64-bit)
1. Install the board, boot up Windows.
2. At Found New Hardware..., click Cancel.
3. Insert the driver CD. At the CD Auto Play window: click Open folder to
view files. Double click Setup (Application). If CD Auto Play doesn't start: click Start, in the Start
Search box, type D:\setup.exe, press Enter. (Change D: to match your CD/DVD-ROM drive letter)
4. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation.
To Verify Windows Installation
1. Check Device Manager to verify installation. Windows 7: Right click Computer, click Manage,
then click Device Manager. Windows Vista: Right click Computer, click
Manage, click Continue, then click Device Manager.
Windows XP / Server 2003: Right click My Computer, click Manage, then click Device Manager.
Windows Server 2008: Right click Computer, click Manage, double click Diagnostics, then click Device Manager.
2. Double click Sound, video and game controllers, Envy24 Family Audio Controller WDM should
be displayed.
