1.1.3 Treatment of Waste Battery
The waste battery is negligible, but its harm is very big, the battery contains mercury, cadmium, lead and other heavy metal substances, endanger human health. If the waste battery mixed with domestic waste in a landfill , as time passes, the heavy metals may contaminate groundwater and soil. So need to deal with batteries of the waste phones reasonably.
No landfill. Because the heavy metal of waste batteries pollute water and soil through the osmosis.
No incineration. Because steam formed by incineration may catalyze the formation of harmful gases at the same time, resulting in the pollution of the atmosphere.
No compost. May lead to excessive levels of heavy metals in the material.
Do not throw away the waste battery, so as not to pollute the environment.
