DYNAMIC REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE
The Model R70 is the replacement cartridge for Shure
Model 570 and 570S omnidirectional dynamic microphones.
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS
proceed as follows.
1. Unscrew (turn counterclockwise) the head assembly (see Figure 1) from the microphone case.

2. Disconnect the pin jacks from the cartridge terminals, taking care not to break any leads.
3. Use a long-nose pliers to engage the slots in the retainer bushing; unscrew (turn counterclockwise) the retainer bushing from the cartridge case.
4. Remove the cartridge from the case.
5. Attach the damping pad and spacer to the replacement cartridge terminals as shown in Figure 1. The damping pad is placed between the cartridge and the spacer, and smoothed against the sides of the cartridge; the coded terminal of the spacer is aligned with the coded terminal of the cartridge.
6. Insert the replacement cartridge, damping pad, and spacer in the case, making sure that the damping pad lies smoothly along the sides of the cartridge, and that the cartridge terminals are exposed to the rear of the case.
7. Use a long-nose pliers to engage the slots in the retainer bushing, and screw the bushing into the case so the cartridge is securely held.
8. Attach the pin jacks to the cartridge terminals as shown in Figure 2.

9. Rotate the head assembly counterclockwise five times to twist the leads. Screw the head assembly and case firmly together.
