This Shure cartridge is a Rochelle Salt crystal device and should be pro-

I n most

instances, a two-wire circuit

(single conductor shielded cable) is

used t o

connect the cartridge. The

inner or "hot" conductor

should

tected from temperatures above 125" F. (51.6" C) and from excessive humidity. Optimum results will be obtained if the crystal cartridge or microphone is stored in enclosures having a temperature around SO0 F. and a humidity of 50%. For replacement in microphones intended t o be used under conditions of high temperature and humidity, the Shure "Controlled

Reluctance" Model R5 replacement cartridge is recommended. A crystal unit may be seriously damaged if accidently connected t o loud speaker or power outlets carrying high voltage. Check your connections carefully.
