545L Replacement Part Data Sheet

The Model R45L is a direct replacement for the dynamic
cartridge in the Model 545L UNIDYNE III Lavalier
Microphone.

INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS
To replace the cartridge, proceed a s follows:

1. Holding the microphone in an upright vertical or near
vertical position, grasp the cartridge housing firmly
and unscrew (turn counterclockwise) and remove the
cartridge–griille assembly from the microphone case.

Note: If the cartridge–grille is firmly locked to the
microphone case, use a leather strap wrench to loosen
the cartridge–grille.

2. Unsolder the leads from the old cartridge terminals.

3. Connect the leads to the new replacement cartridge.
Note the lead colors and terminal coding.

4. Screw the new cartridge into the microphone case
(turn clockwise) AFTER twisting the cartridge in the
opposite direction (counterclockwise) five turns to
twist the leads.

5. Tighten the new cartridge–grille assembly securely to
the microphone case using a leather strap wrench if
necessary
