MODEL A81G POP FILTER GRILLE FOR THE SM81 MICRO­PHONE

This accessory pop filter grille increases the versatility of the Shure
Model SM81 Unidirectional condenser microphone. It attenuates
distracting breath-noise (such as pops and ticks from B’s, P’s and
T’s) and allows the SM81 to be used as a handheld vocal
microphone. By minimizing pickup of rushing and rumbling wind
noise, the A81G also allows the SM81 to be used outdoors in windy
conditions.

The A81G is ruggedly constructed with a grille that resists damage
and deformation. It fastens securely to the SM81 and can be used
when the microphone is handheld or stand mounted.

INSTALLATION

1. Loosen the knurled collar of the A81G and slip it over the SM81
until the top of the microphone just touches the inside of the
A81G. (See Figure 1.)

2. Tighten the A81G by rotating the knurled collar clockwise (as
viewed from the rear of the microphone).

REMOVAL

1. Loosen the knurled collar. (Do not attempt to unscrew the A81G
without loosening the collar––the SM81’s cartridge will unscrew
with the A81G.)

2. Slide the grille off the microphone.
