TA0156-03
Side Rail Kit for 172” - PS5X14
The TA0156-03 side rail kit is to be used on the side frames of the PS5x14 model trailer. The side rail tubes are designed so that there
is no right or left part and no front or rear. They can also be mounted on either the inside or the outside of the side frame. Mounting the
side rails on the inside of the frame will be the most eye appealing and is the most desirable position when installing a front shield on a
trailer with the side rails.
Assembly Instructions
1. Break the bundle and sort all items by size.
2. Determine whether the side rails will be mounted on the inside of the frame as shown in Picture A or on the outside as shown in Picture B.
Inside Frame Mount (Picture A)
1. Place a side rail on the trailer so the mounting channel is between the deck planks as shown in Picture A making sure the
front of the side rail tube is positioned correctly with respect to
the front of the trailer.
2. Place one of the 3/8” x 4 7/16” x 3” square U-bolts around the
frame as shown. Insert the legs of the U-bolt through the mating
holes in the channel. Place a 3/8” at washer, lock washer and
hex nut on each leg of the U-bolt. Thread the nuts on until all
excess U-bolt length as been threaded through the nut.
3. Repeat step 2 on the rear side rail channel.
4. Tighten the U-bolts securing the side rail to the side frame of the
trailer.
5. Repeat the above steps on the remaining side rail.
6. Assembly is complete.
