Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
Lead from lead-based paints.
Crystalline silica from bricks, cement, and other masonry products.
Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.

OPERATION
OPERATION
STRIPPING PAINT AND VARNISH
REMOVING FLOOR ADHESIVE
Each layer of finish may react differently to each of the previous ones. Observe your work carefully and adjust the heat gun temperature accordingly.
Latex paints usually soften with heat. Oil based paints will bubble and blister away from the wood surface. Experiment on an obscure part of your project to determine the correct heat setting. Move the heat gun back and forth, keeping the nozzle 3"-4" away from the surface. Be careful not to burn the wood underneath the finish.
Once the paint thoroughly softens, use a quality scraper for easiest removal. For best results, do not overheat paint and always keep the scraper clean.
Floor tile adhesives can be loosened under high heat applications. Working on one tile at a time, point the heat gun nozzle 3"-4" above the surface and use a scraper to lift the tile. Be sure that the tiles you are lifting can be subjected to the high temperatures the heat gun produces.
OTHER JOBS
Removing self-adhesive stickers and trim.
Removing decals from boats and trailers.
Loosening rusted, over-tightened nuts and metal screws.
Thawing frozen metal pipes, door locks, padlocks, etc.
Drying out paint and varnishes, or wet, damaged wood prior to filling with compound and refinishing.
Softening old putty before removal and replacement.
Shrinking PVC shrink-wrap sheeting for packaging protection, polyvinyl wire joints and tubing.
Waxing and/or dewaxing skis.
Lead paint fumes are harmful. Always provide adequate ventilation while working indoors and wear an appropriate respirator mask. Do not use paper or cloth dust masks.
DO NOT attempt to thaw plastic pipes. Plastic pipes may melt or split from exposure to excessive heat.
Wear safety glasses during the use of this product. Failure to comply may result in serious personal injury.
Keep clothing rolled up and out of the way of machinery and keep hair pulled back.
