1．Overview
Multifunctional Optical Talk Set is a new generation opt ical measuring
instrument . It is widely used in data networking, testing and maintaining of
optical fiber. It can also be used in telecommunication network and cable
TV construction. has full-duplex operation, and the quality of
conversation is high, therefore longer distances will not affects the signal
too much. Moreover, besides the telephone conversation function, the talk
set also has the function of a stabilized light source.

（1） Light Output Port
uses the FC adapter for light output port.
（2） Large LCD Screen
Displays various menus, battery capacity and etc.
（3） Press“ENTER”key to access the main function or confirm an
operation。

（4）Press“CANCEL”key to return to the upper menu or cancel an
operation.
（5）Press“B_LIGHT”key to on/off the background light or change the
background light color.
（6）Press“↓↑”key to browse the main menu.
（7）Press“ON/OFF”key to turn on/off the equipment. The equipment will
automatically shutdown, after 10 minutes of idle time.
（8）DC Port
Power source adapter connection, when battery indicator light up
on the LCD screen, please charge the equipment.
(9) MIC Port
It is used to insert the microphone.
（10）PHONE Port
Connects with PHONE to establish a conversation.

5．Operating Instructions
5.1 On/off
（1） Press“ON/OFF”key to turn it on，a menu will appear as shown
below：
（2） Press “ON/OFF” key to turn it off. The unit will turn itself off after ten
minutes of idle time.
（3） The symbol on the bottom right corner.（“√”shows channel is
established；“×”shows channel has not been established）.
From the symbol ,you can start a conversation or wait for the
opposite party to turn its unit on。
5.2 Main menu
（1） After turning on the unit, the main menu will appear on the screen.
Press “↓↑” key to browse the menus and press “ENTER” key
to access the sub-menu。
（2） The main menu has the follow ing two working mode（from top to
bottom）： Talk set and Light source。
5.3 “Talk Set”Working Mode

（1） Press“ENTER”to access the Talk Set menu：
（2） There are four functions available in Talk Set menu：“ Reset”、
“Call” 、“ Local λ”and “Remote λ ”。 Press “↓↑”to browse
the four functions。 Press“ENTER”key to confirm the operation。
（3） Press“RESET”to re-establish the digital channel。If the digital
channel is successfully established, the LCD screen will be as
below:
（4） Press“Call”to call the opposite party and make its telephone ring.
The LCD screen will be as below:
（5） Press“Local λ”to display the unit’s laser wavelength.

(6) Press“Remote λ”to display the opposite party’s laser
Wavelength.
5.4 “Light source”Working Mode
（1） Press“ENTER”to access the Light Source menu:
(2) In the menu, there are four functions available to choose from ：
“CW”、“ 270Hz”、“ 1kHz”、“ 2kHz”。
Press“↓↑”to browse the four functions。Press“ENTER”key to
confirm the operation。

Press“CW”to access the steady light source working mode.
5.5 Background Light
There are seven background light colors in ; they are yellow, blue,
purple, white, red and two types of green color). Press “B_LIGHT”key to
turn on /off the background light . Then press“↓↑”to change the color
within 3 seconds or directly press“ENTER”。
5.6 Battery
（1）When the battery indicator on bottom left corner is empty, please
charge the battery as this indicates battery is flat.
（2）Please note the indicator lamp when charging.
（3） Please turn off the talk sets if the battery is low。
5.7 Earphone
Use the volume control on t he earphone to increase or reduce the
volume.
5.8 Please note
In order to realize the long distance conversation over a single
fiber ,we must use one set of talk sets。Each of them must have
different wavelength, the typical combination is 1310nm and 1550nm.
Multifunctional Optical Talk Set is full duplex voice communication.
please do not connect it to the other brands of talk sets。

6. Maintenance
6.1 Please clean the sensor ’s surface regularly to keep it free of dust and
oil. Do not use unclean and non-standard connectors. Do not insert
the bad polished sur face to avoid mangling the sensor’s surface and
the whole system performance.
6.2 Please use the same type of adapter only.
6.3 Please screw back the dust protective cap if not in use for a period
time.
6.4 Please gently insert/pull out the connector to avoid scratching the
surface.
6.5 Please use a cotton bud to clean the sensor’s surface regularly
6.6 If the equipment will not be used for a period of time, remove the
batteries to keep the battery from damping.

8. Quality Assurance
We do not approve users to repair by theselves.
8.1 The instrument will be warranted for 18 months from the date of delivery.
Our company provide a warranty for a period of 18 months for all products from
the date of delivery. During warranty period, if there are any problems with the
product, we will repair or replace a new one. But in any case, the cost of our
company will not exceed the purchasing price of the product.
8.2 I f a breakdown occurs when using the equi pment, please do not open the outer
cover. Please immediately contact company’s marketing department or the
respective agents for possible solutions.
8.3 If the fault is caused by production limitation, we will replace a new equipment or
service at no cost. This warranty only apply for the normal use, exc l uding:
1. Repair the unit or change settings without the necessary authorization.
2. Improper usage, neglect, accident, causes external to the product or other
factors beyond the control of our company
Warranty Registration
Our company will provide a warrant y card for every product purchased. After you fill
up the warranty card, please send a copy of the purchase invoice together wit h the
warranty card to company’s marketing department.
