1. General Information
1.1 Scope of This Manual
Thank you for purchasing ShinewayTech product. Please read this manual carefully before using any of ShinewayTech products. Always observe the warnings and cautions appearing throughout this manual.
This manual contains the information necessary for proper operation and maintenance of ShinewayTech DPM-50 RF In Line Digital Power Meter, troubleshooting instructions as well as information regarding obtaining services.
ShinewayTech DPM-50 RF In Line Digital Power Meter is carefully assembled and undergoes a rigorous mechanical, electrical, and optical inspection prior to shipment. For detailed packing information, please refer to the packing list
Upon receiving the instrument, please check for any obvious signs of physical damage that may have occurred during shipment. Report any damage to the shipping agent or the representative of Shineway Technologies, Inc. immediately. Retain the original packing materials in case reshipment becomes necessary.
1.2 Unpacking and Inspection
This instrument has been carefully packed in accordance with standard shipping procedures. Examine the instrument for damage that may have occurred during shipment. If you find any damage or the instrument is not working, or if any of the following items are not included, please contact your representative of Shineway Technologies, Inc.

1.3 Introduction
ShinewayTech DPM-50 has been designed for field engineers and technicians to perform power measurement in wireless network of various standards.
DPM-50 features high dynamic range, high accuracy and high stability, it works with PC monitoring software and optional handheld Monitor to perform real-time in-line monitoring on entire antenna system and saves test data for analysis and evaluation.
The typical application is to monitor the transmitter and antenna of wireless base station during network installation and maintenance, DPM-50 can fast measure
forward power of transmitter, reflected power of antenna and entire system’s VSWR.
DPM-50 is portable size; it can work with handheld Monitor which is the best solution for field test.

2. Operation
This part introduces the basic operation of ShinewayTechDPM-50. Please read this manual carefully for optimal operation. Should you encounter any problems during operation, you are welcome to contact the technical staff of our company or representatives.

2.2.1 Driver Installation
User should install driver when connect sensor to PC via USB cable for the first time:

Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), click Next;

Click Finish to close the wizard. And then the PC will find a new device again.

Right click My Computer on the desktop, select Properties, click Manage label, click Device Manager.

If ShinewayTech RF Power Meter USB Device appears in the list, the driver is installed; otherwise please disconnect the sensor from PC, reconnect and install the
driver again.

Files” menu includes “Open File”, “Save File”, “Print Preview”, “Print” and “Exit”.
Click Open File to open CSV format file.

Click Save Files to save file. Input the file name (Default: DataFile.csv), the file format is CSV” which can be opened with Office Excel.

Click Print Preview to preview the report and data to be printed.

Click Device Info and the menu will roll up and down to check device information.

“Settings” menu includes “Select Frequency”, “Options”.
Click Select Frequency to select the frequency.

“Plot range”: “Max “,” Min “indicates the maximum and minimum vertical axis (Y axis) of the trace area under the continuous measurement mode.
“Limits Settings”: “Max”, “Min” indicates the maximum and minimum axis of the six dials under the continuous measurement mode, the interface 6 to be able to measure the results of circular pointer icon displays the maximum and minimum coordinates.
Enable Limit Check: If selecting this item, the measurement result will be shown in red when the measurement exceeds the setting range (greater than Max. or less than Min.). If not selecting this item, the measurement result will be always shown in black.
Enable Limit Warning: If selecting this item, there will be a popup window when the measurement exceeds the setting range (greater than Max. or less than Min.). If not selecting this item, there will not be a popup window what ever the measurement is. (Note: this feature is only available under triggered measurement mode. It is not available under continuous measurement mode. To ensure the continuity of measurement under continuous measurement mode, the system disable this feature.).
Warning Sound: If selecting this item, there will be a warning tone when the measurement exceeds the setting range (greater than Max. or less than Min.). If not selecting this item, there will not be a warning tone what ever the measurement is. (Note: this feature is only available under triggered measurement mode. It is not available under continuous measurement mode. To ensure the continuity of measurement under continuous measurement mode, the system disable this feature.).

Basic Info submenu under Setting
Operator, Sample Type, Sample S/N will be shown in the printing report.
Interval indicates the interval time between two consecutive measurements under continuous measurement mode. The minimum interval is 1 second.
Last Time indicates the total time under continuous measurement mode.

3) Tool Bar
The items in Toolbar are similar with the Main Menu.
Click Run Trigger to run a measurement. The measurement result will be displayed in the GUI by two ways: number and dial. The number will be red while it is out of the setting range, and be green while it is within the setting range. The date trace on the bottom of the main screen will hide.

Click Run Continues to run a measurement. The interval and last time value can be set in the Setting menu. The measurement result will be displayed in the GUI by two ways: number and dial. The number will be red while it is out of the setting range, and be green while it is within the setting range. The data will be point by point added in the historical trace. The user can click on the pages under the trace to check the data trace for the different measurement items.

“Device Info” shows USB device information, if the USB device does not access the computer, then the information will be “------”.
Frequency”: The user can set the desired frequency. There are two ways:
pre-defined frequency and user setting frequency. If the input value beyond the system's frequency range, a pop-up window will display as below.

Setting column shows the user's current settings, measurement display range, measurement limits, which can be set by users. If the input value exceeds the acceptable range, the system will show an error pop-up window.
“CCDF”: Set the threshold value and display the real-time CCDF value. Click “set” button, a dialog window is shown as below. Input a threshold value and click OK button.

2.3 Measurement Operation
2.3.1 Connection
Prohibit the operation for connecting or disconnecting the device while using the power meter. The leakage of RF energy will cause harm to human being.

2.3.2 Measurement
Turn on the PC software after the system connection is completed.
1) In Information Bar to set the frequency, setting frequency method:
For
selecting a common used frequency band, click the select frequency
drop-down menu below, select the frequency.
For user define frequency, input the value in the blank under User Frequency.

Click to stop the measurement. Refer to the above steps to change the measurement frequency.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Clean of Interface
Please follow the safety rules before cleaning:
Be sure the device is power off before cleaning. Non-compliance under the control, regulation or procedure may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.
To prevent electric shock, keep the device away from the mains before
cleaning. Use dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the external case, do not clean inside.
Device should be repaired d by qualified technician while damaged. Sensor N connector should be put on protective cover to prevent damage
when not in use.
3.2 Calibration
DPM-50 series is recommended to calibrate every three years. Please contact ShinewayTech service center or distributor for the calibration.
The device may have errors in the performance without the proper maintenance.
Performance degradation due to the following reasons:
Distance measurement error increases;
Linearity error;
Received power falls outside the normal range of power measurement.

5. Warranty Information
5.1 Terms of Warranty
All ShinewayTech products are warranted against defective material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of shipment to the original customer. Any product found to be defective within the warranty period would be repaired or replaced by Shineway Technologies Inc. free of charge.
In no case will Shineway Technologies, Inc. liabilities exceed the original purchase price of the product.
5.2 Exclusions
The warranty on your equipment shall not apply to defects resulting from the following:
Unauthorized repair or modification Misuse, negligence, or accident Consumptive parts (e.g electrodes)
Shineway Technologies, Inc. reserves the right to make changes to any of its products at any time without having to replace or change previously purchased units.

5.3 Warranty Registration
A warranty registration card is included with the original shipment of equipment. Please take a few moments to fill out the card and mail or fax it to the local Customer Service Center of Shineway Technologies, Inc. to ensure proper initiation of your warranty term and scope of your warranty.
5.4 Returning Instruments
To return instrument for reasons of yearly calibration or other, please contact the local Customer Service Center of Shineway Technologies, Inc. to obtain additional information and a RMA# (Return Materials Authorization number). And describe briefly reasons for the return of the equipment, to allow us offer you more efficient service.
To return the instrument in the case of repair, calibration or other maintenance, please note the following:
Be sure to pack the instrument with soft cushion like Polyethylene, so as to
protect the shell of the instrument.
Please use the original hard packing box. If use other packing material,
please ensure at least 3 cm soft material around the instrument.
Be sure to correctly fill out and return the warranty registration card, which
should include the following information: company name, postal address, contact, phone number, email address and problem description.
Be sure to seal the packing box with exclusive tape. Be sure to ship to your representative or the agent of the Company in a
reliable way.
