When using this application, securely attach your smartphone to a position near the bicycle handlebar with
the dedicated holder and ensure that you grasp the handlebar securely with both hands.
Do not stare at the screen while riding. Doing so will distract you from the front of the bicycle and is

SHIMANO will not be held responsible for any damage to the smartphone holder that may occur while using
this application.
Using this application increases smartphone battery consumption. Take note of the battery level during use.

After installing E-TUBE RIDE, tap the E-TUBE RIDE icon ().

The country/region selection screen is displayed.
Default provinces and countries/regions are displayed based on your smartphone's ID information.
Select the provinces and countries/regions you will use, and tap [OK].

The SHIMANO ID PORTAL login screen is displayed.
If the region does not support SHIMANO IDs, the terms of use screen is displayed. Confirm the
information such as the terms of use, select [Agree], and tap [Next]. Proceed to step 5 .

If you have not registered a SHIMANO ID, tap [NEW REGISTRATION].
The SHIMANO ID PORTAL screen is displayed.
If you tapped [Skip] and did not log in, the terms of use screen is displayed. Confirm the information
such as the terms of use, select [Agree], and tap [Next]. Proceed to step 5 .
Log in or register as a new user.

Follow the instructions on the SHIMANO ID PORTAL screen.
The notice screen is displayed when the login operation is complete.
The function for logging in via Twitter account is no longer available as of the end of July, 2023. Click here
for details.
Confirm the displayed information, and tap [Agree].

Starting E-TUBE RIDE
To connect to E-TUBE RIDE, the bicycle must be put into a waiting for connection state. Refer to the table
and put the bicycle into the waiting for connection state.

* If you cannot connect after performing gear shifting operations, perform the following operations. The
bicycle goes into the waiting for connection state for about 30 seconds after the battery is remounted or the
electric wires are reconnected to the wireless unit.
In the case of an external battery
Check that the electric wires are connected to the wireless unit, then remove and remount the external
battery.
In the case of a built-in battery
Check that the electric wires are connected to the wireless unit, then remove the electric wires (two wires)
from the wireless unit and reconnect them.
Tap the E-TUBE RIDE icon ().

Only one speed sensor, one cadence sensor, and one heart rate sensor can be connected at the same time. Up to
two power meters can be connected at the same time. For an integrated speed and cadence sensor, only that
sensor can be connected.
Tap [Add] on the bicycle top screen.

A speed sensor, cadence sensor, power meter, or heart rate sensor that supports the Bluetooth®LE
communication profile (CSCP or Cycling Speed and Cadence Profile for a speed sensor or cadence
sensor, Cycling Power Profile for a power meter, or Heart Rate Profile for a heart rate sensor) can be
connected, regardless of the manufacturer.
If the screen for adding a sensor is not displayed despite the sensor being supported, check whether it
is displayed on the Bluetooth®settings screen of the smartphone.
Setting up a sensor
Change the name of the sensor, etc. It can only be changed when connected to the sensor.
On the bicycle top screen, tap the sensor to change the settings.

For a power meter, [Calibration] is displayed. Tap [Calibration] to start E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist. If ETUBE PROJECT Cyclist is not installed in your smartphone, the application connects to the download
site.

Tap the pause icon () in the travel log section while recording the travel log or during auto-pause to
temporarily stop recording the travel log. Tap the resume icon () to resume recording.
Tap the cancel icon () in the travel log section while recording of the travel log is temporarily stopped
or during auto-pause to cancel recording the travel log. When the confirmation screen is displayed, tap
[Save and stop] to save the travel log or [Discard and stop] to discard the travel log. Tap [Back] to return to
the previous screen.
When the item screen is set to the 4 item view, the shifting advice and current start mode are displayed if
the connected bicycle is an E-BIKE and the large icon on the top is [Gear]. The shifting advice displays a

When the item screen is set to the 4 item view, the speed meter and assist power meter are displayed on the
large icon on the top.

The indicator travels around the circumference clockwise, with 0.0 km/h at the bottom.
400 km/h is displayed with one revolution and 25 km/h with half a revolution. When the unit is miles, 250
mph is displayed with one revolution and 20 mph with half a revolution.
Assist power meter

Displayed inside the circular scale.
The indicator travels around the circumference counterclockwise, with 0% at the bottom.
100% is displayed with one revolution.
The gradation color changes according to the type of the assist mode.
If the item is [Cadence] or [Avg/Max cadence], the cadence is displayed instead of the assist power meter.
The indicator travels around the circumference counterclockwise, with 0 rpm at the bottom and 254 rpm
displayed for one revolution.
If the item is [Pwr] or [Avg/Max Pwr], the power is displayed instead of the assist power meter. The

with one revolution and 250 W with half a revolution.

displayed. The speed meter and assist meter are also not displayed if the connected bicycle is an E-BIKE

When the item screen is set to the 4 item view and the top large item is [LR Pwr], the force vector/power balance
is displayed.

Force that propels the bicycle forward is displayed in blue, force that hinders the crank rotation is displayed
in red, force corresponding to neither is displayed in gray, and white is displayed when no force is applied

The more blue and white are displayed, the more effective the pedaling is.

You can set linking with services such as the “SHIMANO CONNECT Lab” travel log analysis tool and the “Strava”
activity application.
Setting linking with SHIMANO CONNECT Lab
Tap [Link to other services] on the setting menu screen.
1.
The other service link screen is displayed.
Tap [Connect].
2.
When the confirmation screen is displayed, tap [To Terms of Use Agreement page] to connect to the link site
for SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.
Perform the registration procedure on the SHIMANO CONNECT Lab link site.
3.
When linking is complete, the application returns to the other service link screen. [Linked] is displayed.
Setting linking with Strava
Tap [Link to other services] on the setting menu screen.
1.
The other service link screen is displayed.
Tap [Connect with STRAVA].
2.
The application connects to the Strava link site.

You can set body information and check the status of consent to SHIMANO saving your health-related data.
Setting body information enables the heart rate zone and calories burned to be calculated.
If you consent to SHIMANO saving your health-related data, you can save heart rate-related data and
calories burned to travel logs.
Tap [Health profile] on the setting menu screen.

The body information screen is displayed.
Set [Max heart rate], [Resting heart rate], and [Weight], then tap [Confirm].
2.
[Resting heart rate] and [Weight] can only be set if you have consented to SHIMANO saving your
health-related data.
Consenting to the saving of health-related data
In SHIMANO ID PORTAL, set whether you consent to the saving and use of health-related data.
Tap [Health profile] on the setting menu screen.
