TO ENSURE SAFETY
When using this application, securely attach your smartphone to a position near the bicycle handlebar with the dedicated holder and ensure that you grasp the handlebar securely with both hands.
Do not stare at the screen while riding. Doing so will distract you from the front of the bicycle and is dangerous.
SHIMANO will not be held responsible for any damage to the smartphone holder that may occur while using this application.
Using this application increases smartphone battery consumption. Take note of the battery level during use.

Starting E-TUBE RIDE for the first time
After installing E-TUBE RIDE, tap the E-TUBE RIDE icon ( ).

The country/region selection screen is displayed.
Default provinces and countries/regions are displayed based on your smartphone's ID information.
Select the provinces and countries/regions you will use, and tap [OK].

The SHIMANO ID PORTAL login screen is displayed.
If the region does not support SHIMANO IDs, the terms of use screen is displayed. Confirm the information such as the terms of use, select [Agree], and tap [Next]. Proceed to step 5 .

Tap [LOGIN].

If you have not registered a SHIMANO ID, tap [NEW REGISTRATION].
The SHIMANO ID PORTAL screen is displayed.
If you tapped [Skip] and did not log in, the terms of use screen is displayed. Confirm the information such as the terms of use, select [Agree], and tap [Next]. Proceed to step 5 .
Log in or register as a new user.

Follow the instructions on the SHIMANO ID PORTAL screen.
The notice screen is displayed when the login operation is complete.
The function for logging in via Twitter account is no longer available as of the end of July, 2023. Click here for details.
Confirm the displayed information, and tap [Agree].

Starting E-TUBE RIDE
To connect to E-TUBE RIDE, the bicycle must be put into a waiting for connection state. Refer to the table and put the bicycle into the waiting for connection state.
Bicycle type Method
The bicycle goes into the waiting for connection state after the following operations:
E-BIKE
Other than E-BIKE
* If you cannot connect after performing gear shifting operations, perform the following operations. The bicycle goes into the waiting for connection state for about 30 seconds after the battery is remounted or the electric wires are reconnected to the wireless unit.
In the case of an external battery
Check that the electric wires are connected to the wireless unit, then remove and remount the external battery.
In the case of a built-in battery
Check that the electric wires are connected to the wireless unit, then remove the electric wires (two wires) from the wireless unit and reconnect them.
Tap the E-TUBE RIDE icon ( ).

For 30 seconds after one of the buttons/switches (except for the E-BIKE main power supply button) is operated
The bicycle goes into the waiting for connection state after performing gear shifting operations.

If the connection fails, proceed to step 5 .
If a bicycle and wireless unit are not registered, proceed to step 3 .

You can swipe the panels to the left to delete them. Tap [Delete] when the confirmation screen is displayed.

Tap the panel then tap [DISCONNECT] to disconnect from the bicycle and wireless unit.
If you tap , the profile registered in SHIMANO ID PORTAL is displayed.
Tap [Add new wireless unit] to connect to a new wireless unit.

When the bicycle top screen is displayed after adding a new wireless unit, the tutorial screen is displayed. Confirm the displayed information, and tap [OK]. Select [Do not show this next time] to hide the tutorial screen from the next time.

Connect and configure the power meter, speed sensor, cadence sensor, and heart rate sensor.

Adding a sensor
Only one speed sensor, one cadence sensor, and one heart rate sensor can be connected at the same time. Up to two power meters can be connected at the same time. For an integrated speed and cadence sensor, only that sensor can be connected.
Tap [Add] on the bicycle top screen.

The screen for adding a sensor is displayed.
Tap [Add] for the sensor to add.

A confirmation screen is displayed if you try to add a sensor with the same functions as a sensor that is already connected, etc. Select which sensor to connect to.

A speed sensor, cadence sensor, power meter, or heart rate sensor that supports the Bluetooth®LE communication profile (CSCP or Cycling Speed and Cadence Profile for a speed sensor or cadence sensor, Cycling Power Profile for a power meter, or Heart Rate Profile for a heart rate sensor) can be connected, regardless of the manufacturer.
If the screen for adding a sensor is not displayed despite the sensor being supported, check whether it is displayed on the Bluetooth®settings screen of the smartphone.
Setting up a sensor
Change the name of the sensor, etc. It can only be changed when connected to the sensor.
On the bicycle top screen, tap the sensor to change the settings.

Tap [Delete sensor] on the sensor setting screen to delete it from the list of registered sensors. If it is currently connected it will be disconnected.
For a power meter, [Calibration] is displayed. Tap [Calibration] to start E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist. If E­TUBE PROJECT Cyclist is not installed in your smartphone, the application connects to the download site.

Tap the ride screen icon ( ) to display the ride screen.
When the ride screen is displayed for the first time after starting the application, the tutorial screen is displayed. Confirm the displayed information, and tap [OK]. Select [Do not show this next time] to hide the tutorial screen from the next time.
Tap [Enter health profile] to display the body information screen, which enables you to set body information and check the status of consent for saving health-related data.

Left swipe (from right to left)

The screen cannot be switched with a swipe operation on the map screen.

Item screen
Various statuses of the bicycle are displayed on the screen. The displayed items can be customized.
Customizing the displayed items
Tap the customize icon ( ) on the ride screen.

The customization screen is displayed.
When the customization screen is displayed for the first time after starting the application, the tutorial screen is displayed. Confirm the displayed information, and tap [OK]. Select [Do not show this next time] to hide the tutorial screen from the next time.

You can select whether to display a screen on the ride screen by switching the bottom right switch ON/ OFF on the customization screen. You cannot turn all screens OFF.
Tap the icon on the top right of the screen to switch the view format.

The item screen has four view formats: 4 item view, 6 item view, 8 item view, and 9 item view.
Tap the item to change, select the item to display, and tap [Confirm].4.

Tap on the customization screen to restore the default screen settings. When the confirmation screen is displayed, select whether to restore the default settings for the current screen only or all screens.
The function items displayed on the map screen can be customized with the same procedure. You can select one of three view formats: 2 item view, 4 item view, and hide.
Tap [Done].

Cadence Displays cadence information.
Heart rate Displays the current heart rate measured by the sensor.

Displays information on the sensor battery level in six levels. Displays information on all the connected sensors.

Tap to display the body information screen, which enables you to set body information and check the status of consent for saving health-related data.
E-BIKE RANGE Displays traveling range information according to the current assist mode.

Displays the name of the current assist mode.
With the Fine tune mode, the level is displayed using numbers such as 1/5 or 4/5.
Assist profile
Displays the name of the current assist profile.
The assist profile names can be changed from [Profile1] and [Profile2] to names of your choice in E-TUBE PROJECT. However, customized assist profile names of your choice are not displayed for connected cycle computers other than the SC-EM800/SC-E7000. The default names of [Profile1] and [Profile2] are displayed.

Lights Displays the status of the connected light.
Tap the pause icon ( ) in the travel log section while recording the travel log or during auto-pause to temporarily stop recording the travel log. Tap the resume icon ( ) to resume recording.
Tap the cancel icon ( ) in the travel log section while recording of the travel log is temporarily stopped or during auto-pause to cancel recording the travel log. When the confirmation screen is displayed, tap [Save and stop] to save the travel log or [Discard and stop] to discard the travel log. Tap [Back] to return to the previous screen.
When the item screen is set to the 4 item view, the shifting advice and current start mode are displayed if the connected bicycle is an E-BIKE and the large icon on the top is [Gear]. The shifting advice displays a right-facing arrow for shift up and a left-facing arrow for shift down.

Speed meter/assist power meter
When the item screen is set to the 4 item view, the speed meter and assist power meter are displayed on the large icon on the top.

Displayed above the circular scale.
The indicator travels around the circumference clockwise, with 0.0 km/h at the bottom.
400 km/h is displayed with one revolution and 25 km/h with half a revolution. When the unit is miles, 250 mph is displayed with one revolution and 20 mph with half a revolution.
Assist power meter

Displayed inside the circular scale.
The indicator travels around the circumference counterclockwise, with 0% at the bottom.
100% is displayed with one revolution.
The gradation color changes according to the type of the assist mode.
If the item is [Cadence] or [Avg/Max cadence], the cadence is displayed instead of the assist power meter. The indicator travels around the circumference counterclockwise, with 0 rpm at the bottom and 254 rpm displayed for one revolution.
If the item is [Pwr] or [Avg/Max Pwr], the power is displayed instead of the assist power meter. The indicator travels around the circumference counterclockwise, with 0 W at the bottom. 3000 W is displayed with one revolution and 250 W with half a revolution.
If the item is [Shifter battery], [Sensor battery] or [LR Pwr], the speed meter and assist meter are not displayed. The speed meter and assist meter are also not displayed if the connected bicycle is an E-BIKE and the item is [Gear].

Force vector/power balance information
When the item screen is set to the 4 item view and the top large item is [LR Pwr], the force vector/power balance is displayed.
Force vector

Displays the force applied to the pedal every 30° in two dimensions.
Force that propels the bicycle forward is displayed in blue, force that hinders the crank rotation is displayed in red, force corresponding to neither is displayed in gray, and white is displayed when no force is applied to the crank.
The more blue and white are displayed, the more effective the pedaling is.
Left-right balance distribution histogram

Displays the balance distribution of the left and right pedals over the last 30 seconds as a histogram. It is updated every second.
Power balance indicator

Displays the left and right power balance with an indicator. The indicator display is categorized as follows.

Map screen
The map screen displays the map and searches for a route to the destination. It also displays the traveling distance and estimated time to the destination.
When the map screen is displayed for the first time after starting the application, the tutorial screen is displayed. Select [Do not show this next time] to hide the tutorial screen from the next time the application is started.
Description of the map screen
Search button: Starts searching with the content entered in the destination entry field. A maximum of 10(1)

candidate destinations are searched for and displayed on the map screen as pins.
Offline map download button: Starts downloading an offline map. A map of approx. 15 square kilometers

will be downloaded with the current location in the center of the map.
Route guidance button: Sets a route from the current location to the destination pin via each transit point

pin, and displays the guidance route on the map screen.
Candidate destination pin: Tap to display a confirmation screen. Tap [Add] to switch to a destination pin.(4)
Function items: Displays the bicycle status in the same manner as the item screen. The displayed items can

Destination entry field: Tap the search button to display. Tap to display the keypad and enter the

destination name.
Orient north button: Rotates the map so that the top of the screen is facing north.(7)
Tracking mode button: Positions the current location in the center of the screen each time the current

location is updated via GPS.
Destination pin (transit point pin): Up to 24 locations can be set. Tap to display a confirmation screen to

delete a destination pin. You can also delete all the destination pins at once.
Current location icon: Displays your current position on the map.(10)
Route guidance cancel button: Deletes all the destination pins and cancels route guidance.(11)
Button for displaying the left screen: Switches to the ride screen one screen to the left of the map screen.(12)
View scheduled traveling distance: Displays the estimated traveling distance to the destination.(13)
Button for orienting the top of the screen with the travel direction: Rotates the map so that the top of the

View scheduled traveling time: Displays the estimated time to the destination.(15)

While traveling, only 5, 12, and 17 are displayed on the map screen.
Approx. 10 to 25 MB of free space is required on your device to download an offline map. Furthermore, a map can only be downloaded once every 30 days.
When a candidate destination pin is changed to a destination pin, all other candidate destination pins are deleted. All displayed candidate destination pins are also deleted when the search button is tapped.

Swipe: Moves the map in the swiped direction.
Rotating with two points touched: Rotates the orientation of the map.
Pinch in: Zooms the map out.

Press and hold: Sets a destination pin in the location that is pressed and held down.
Displaying guidance route
Searches for a destination and displays guidance route on the screen.
Enter the destination name in the destination entry field.1.
Tap the search button.

You can also press and hold the screen to set a destination pin.
When all the destination pins and transit point pins have been set, tap the route guidance button.

The travel log is only displayed on the log view screen if you log in with a SHIMANO ID.

You can log in to SHIMANO ID PORTAL. This function cannot be used in regions that do not support SHIMANO IDs.
Tap [Sign up/Login] on the setting menu screen.

The SHIMANO ID PORTAL screen is displayed.
Log in or register as a new user.
2.
Follow the instructions on the SHIMANO ID PORTAL screen.
When login is complete, the application returns to the setting menu screen.
The function for logging in via Twitter account is no longer available as of the end of July, 2023. Click here for details.
When logging in to SHIMANO ID PORTAL, you can tap [SHIMANO ID PORTAL] on the setting menu screen to display the SHIMANO ID PORTAL website.

You can set linking with services such as the “SHIMANO CONNECT Lab” travel log analysis tool and the “Strava” activity application.
Setting linking with SHIMANO CONNECT Lab
Tap [Link to other services] on the setting menu screen.

The other service link screen is displayed.
Tap [Connect].
2.
When the confirmation screen is displayed, tap [To Terms of Use Agreement page] to connect to the link site for SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.
Perform the registration procedure on the SHIMANO CONNECT Lab link site.
3.
When linking is complete, the application returns to the other service link screen. [Linked] is displayed.
Setting linking with Strava
Tap [Link to other services] on the setting menu screen.
1.
The other service link screen is displayed.
Tap [Connect with STRAVA].
2.
The application connects to the Strava link site.

You can set body information and check the status of consent to SHIMANO saving your health-related data.
Setting body information enables the heart rate zone and calories burned to be calculated.
If you consent to SHIMANO saving your health-related data, you can save heart rate-related data and calories burned to travel logs.
Tap [Health profile] on the setting menu screen.

The body information screen is displayed.
Set [Max heart rate], [Resting heart rate], and [Weight], then tap [Confirm].
2.
[Resting heart rate] and [Weight] can only be set if you have consented to SHIMANO saving your health-related data.
Consenting to the saving of health-related data
In SHIMANO ID PORTAL, set whether you consent to the saving and use of health-related data.
Tap [Health profile] on the setting menu screen.
