This elegant rack-mountable amplifier
offers 80 watts of smooth, articulate power
from each of eight zones.

Included on the rear panel are RCA
inputs for eight zones and a bussing system
when zones share the same input, plus
music signal sensing switches, gain controls,
stereo/mono/bridging switches, 12 volt trig­gers and eight pairs of speaker connectors.
Each zone can drive two pairs of eight ohm
or one pair of four ohm speakers. Inside the
chassis are thirty two discrete output
devices, two hefty 775VA toroidal trans-

formers and eight large heat-sinks for truly
efficient fan-free cooling.

The LDS 16-40 includes Sherbourn’s
patent pending circuitry which checks each
zone for short circuits and then measures
the intended load’s impedance to enhance
long term reliability. Sherbourn’s world­wide reputation for performance, value and

• Full-width four inch high rack-mountable chassis

• Elegantly sculptured front panel has a master power switch with blue LED

• Total of thirty-two discrete output devices

• Two hefty 775 VA quadruple tapped dual voltage transformers so that each zone is allocated
its own specific share of the transformers to ensure that all channels will have identical
output capability

• Eight large aluminum heat-sinks for a cool fan-free operation

• Outputs 80/120 watts per zone into 8/4 ohms respectively with all channels driven

• Rear panel includes RCA inputs, a simple bus system for use when adjacent zones will have
the same music, gain controls, stereo/mono switches, 12 volt triggers and eight sets of
removable speaker connectors

• Removable power cord

• Patent-pending circuitry that will automatically check for short circuits and then measure
the impedance of the intended speaker load before connecting it to the amplifier. This test of
impedance helps to ensure that the load is within the required specification and so will not
cause excessive distortion, overheating or long-term reliability problems
