INSTRUCTIONS
The Salon Hair Straightener is intended for household use. Use on alternating current (50/60Hz) between 120 volts AC and 240 volts AC.
Note: This appliance has Automatic Worldwide Voltage. It will automatically adjust to the proper voltage if outfitted with a correctly configured adapter plug (not included) prior to plugging into outlet.
QUICK START
1. Plug the appliance into a polarized wall outlet.
Note: As a safety feature, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) which fits in a polarized outlet one way only. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
2. Slide the POWER switch located above the handle to the ON
position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
3. Allow unit to heat up for several minutes.
WARNING: The metal plates become very hot within a few seconds and should not come in contact with the skin after the straightening iron has been turned on. Keep heated surfaces away from eyes.
To Straighten Hair
Hair should be clean and completely dry before use.
1. Select a section of hair that is 1” wide and no more than 1/2”
thick.
2. Open the iron and place a hair section between the two hot
plates, close to the scalp. Trap hair between the plates by firmly squeezing the handles together.
INSTRUCTIONS
3. Maintaining tension, slowly pull unit down along the hair sec-
tion to hair end.
Note: For best results, use a light styling lotion before blowdrying hair.
4. At the end of hair section, release pressure on the handle
until hair slides out.
5. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until desired
hairstyle is achieved. Depending on hair texture, it may be necessary to repeat the straightening process on certain areas.
Note: Straightening and styling proficiency increases with use.
To Remove Comb Attachment
The Removable Comb Attachment provides tension and guides hair during the straightening process.
1. To remove the comb, turn iron off and allow it to cool.
2. Hold iron firmly with one hand and slide comb away from
the iron with the other hand.
3. When replacing the comb, align it with the slot on the side of
the iron. Slide comb into position, ensuring it is securely locked.
To Straighten Hair
To clean:
Please keep all vents and openings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning becomes necessary, be sure to unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe unit clean.
To Store
Unplug the straightening iron from the outlet and allow it to cool before putting it back in its box or in a clean, dry place. Store out of reach of children.
Note: Do not allow the power supply cord to be pulled, twisted or severely bent. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance. Damage will occur at the high flex point of entry into the appliance, causing it to rupture and short. Inspect the cord frequently for damage. Stop use immediately if damage is visible or if unit stops or operates intermittently.
Maintenance
IF YOU THINK THE POWER IS OFF WHEN THE SWITCH IS OFF, YOU'RE WRONG. KEEP AWAY FROM WATER.
Everyone knows that electricity and water are a dangerous combination. But did you know that an electric appliance is still electrically live even if the switch is off? If the plug is in, the power is on. So when you are not using your appliances, keep them unplugged.
ALWAYS UNPLUG SMALL APPLIANCES.
