QUICK START GUIDE
Congratulations on selecting TV Wireless Headphones from Sharper Image. This Quick Start Guide is designed to help you set up your new device. Please read the full instruction sheet at a later time and keep it for future reference.
Please note: Your TV Wireless Headphones must be fully charged before you use them for the first time. This may take up to 16 hours.
• Base Unit
• 3.5mm stereo cable
• AC/DC power adapter
• Wireless Headphones
• 3.5mm-to-RCA stereo cable
CONNECTING THE BASE TO THE AC OUTLET
• Connect the power adapter into DC5V jack in the back of the base unit.
• Plug the power adapter into an AC outlet.
CONNECTING THE BASE TO YOUR TV
There are two ways to connect the base to your TV. Be sure to use only one method or you could damage your device.
Headphone input. Use the supplied 3.5mm black audio cable. Insert one end into the Audio Input jack on the back of the base. Plug the other end into the 3.5mm headphone jack on your TV.
Audio input: Use the supplied 3.5mm-to-RCA cable. Connect the 3.5mm end to the Audio Input jack on the back of the base. Connect the red and white plugs to the corresponding red and white audio out jacks on your TV. (Make sure the red plug is connected to the red jack and the white plug is connected to the white jack.)
CHARGING YOUR HEADPHONES
• Rest the headphones on the base so the charging pins connect with the charging dock on the bottom of the left earcup.
• While the headphones are charging, the red Charge light will be lit. Make sure it is solid red, not flickering or flashing. The red light will go out once the headphones are fully charged. Note: If the red light is flickering or flashing, adjust the headphones to make a better connection.
New & Improved Charging Feature
Note: This new and improved model features a redesigned charging base with an additional charging cable. Should you ever experience any diculties charging the headphones through the primary method (resting them on the base), you may instead charge your headphones by plugging this thin black wire into the small round port on the back of the left earcup. Either way, your headphones will be charged and ready for daily use.
USING YOUR HEADPHONES
• Turn on the TV. The base should now detect audio coming from of the TV. When the base detects sound coming from the TV, the blue “Level” light will illuminate.
• Next, switch on the Headphones. Slide the on/o switch under the right earcup to the on position. Place the headphones on your head. Adjust the volume by turning the rotary volume wheel located next to the on/o switch under the right earcup. You should now be able to hear sound from your TV.
Important: On some newer TV sets, it may be necessary to turn on or increase the volume of the headphone jack the audio out jack. Consult the instruction manual of your TV to adjust these settings.
• To conserve battery power, turn the headphones o when not in use. Return to base for charging.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you hear distorted sound or no sound in your headphones, try these steps:
• Be sure the base is connected to the TV according to the instructions above.
• Be sure the unit is fully charged. Remember, when the headphones are fully charged, the red light will be unlit.
• Turn on the TV. If the base detects an audio signal, the blue Level light will illuminate.
• Turn on the headphones using the On/O switch on the right earcup.
• Increase the headphone volume by turning the rotary Volume knob on the right earcup.
• Press the Tune button on the headphones or on the base. The TV Wireless Headphones transmit using three dierent frequencies. Pressing the Tune button will help you find the strongest wireless signal.
• If you are connected to the TV via the headphone jack, make sure the headphone jack is turned on and that the output level is turned up. (Normally, you can check this by pressing the Menu button on your TV remote control and entering the Set-Up menu. Consult your TV owner’s manual for details.)
• If you are connected to the TV via the audio out jacks, make sure the audio out jacks are turned on and that the output level is turned up. (Normally, you can check this by pressing the Menu button on your TV remote control and entering the Set-Up menu. Consult your TV owner’s manual for details.)
• If you are still not getting any sound, try the alternate cable connection method using the other included audio cable.
