MEASURE CARRIED OUT TO ALLEVIATE PROBLEMS OF STATIC ELECTRICITY ON THE TABLE GLASS WHEN USED WITH MODEL SF-A55.

1.Model Name: SF-2040

2.General: There have been problems with static electricity gathering on the surface of the table

glass when the SF-A55 (RADF) is installed with the machines. The static electricity on the surface of the table glass can cause the original document to ‘‘stick’’ to the table glass, resulting in paper jams or positioning misses of the original document. The appropriate action to be carried out to alleviate the problem described above occurs when it occurs is reported below. It is important to note that the problem described above has occurred only in markets with environments conducive to static electricity. There has been no problems reported in markets with normal environments.

(2) Replace the tip sheet fixing plate with the new tip sheet fixing plate (part d).

(3) Replace the table glass with the new table glass (part a). (4) Replace the OR guide L with the new OR guide L in which the table glass grounding

plate was inserted in (1) above.

5.Action: Because the problem described above occurs only extremely infrequently, factory action

during mass production has not been carried out.
