2. MEASURE TO ALLEVIATE PROBLEMS OF THE FIXING SCREW OF THE
ADF OPENING AND CLOSING SWITCH BECOMING LOOSE.

1. Changes carried out as a measure to improve productivity.

1.Model Name: SF-S55

2.General: The measures described below have been carried out to improve productivity, to

improve the rotation strength of the inlet roller, and to improve the performance of the
paper detection sensor of the stapler.

3.Description: (1) The method of securing the inlet roller in the transport unit has been changed.

The press fit method of securing the inlet roller has been changed to a straight pin
and E-ring. This change has been carried out as a measure to improve the revolution
strength of the shaft and the inlet roller.

(2) A change has been carried out in a resistor in the main control PWB (R95 only).

This change has been carried out as a measure to improve the light projecting
volume so that adjustments can be made even with a low-sensitive light sensor
in the paper detection sensor section of the stapler.

(3) A change has been carried out in the LED and the pin. This change has been carried

out in accordance with the automatic insertion of parts in the main control PWB.

(4) A change has been carried out in the capacitor. This change has been carried out in

accordance with the automatic insertion of parts in the pin shift motor driver PWB.

4.Action: (1) → From the 1st lot of 1997 June production.

(2) → From 1997 mid-February production.
(3) → From 1997 mid-May production.
(4) → From the 1st lot of 1997 April production.

2. Measure to alleviate problems of the fixing screw of the ADF opening and closing
switch becoming loose.

1.Model Name: SF-A17/A56/A18/A57

2.General: There was a problem of the fixing screw of the ADF opening and closing switch

becoming loose due to the fact that the screw was too short. As a measure to alleviate
this problem a change has been carried out in the fixing screw. The new screw is longer
than the old one.

3.Action: From the 1st lot of 1997 June production.
