CHANGES IN PARTS CARRIED OUT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH IMPROVEMENT
MEASURES FOR EACH TYPE OF MACHINE.
1.Model name: SF-2116/ 2118/1016/1018
2.General: Changes in parts have been carried out in accordance with the improvement measures
described below, and are hereby reported.
3.Description: (1) A measure has been carried out to alleviate problems of standard voltage deviations
in the analog circuits of the main PWB. The changes in resistance tolerance described
below were carried out.
Locations of resistors: R56, R59: 7.5 kΩ ± 1% → 7.5kΩ ± 0.5%
R57, R58: 2.4 kΩ ± 1% → 2.4kΩ ± 0.5%
From 1995 mid-October production.
(2) A change has been carried out in the shape of the original cover to prevent the
original copies from lifting.
Lattice ribs (OEP 4 locations)
have been added in the four
corners of the OC mat on the
face with double-sided tape.
The horizontal ribs are
lower than the vertical
ribs on the new items.

(3) A change has been carried out in the PS lower sheet in accordance with this change,
the attachment position has also been changed. These changes were carried out in
order to alleviate the danger of the PS lower sheets in the lower frame due to
unevenness in the attachment position and the mylar bonding.
➀ Front/Back direction:
The sheet should be
attached 2 to 3 mm along
the hole on the operations
panel side (front).
➁ Left/Right direction:

Match the miler's bend line to
the metal board edge.
The sheet should be attached
so that the bent section of the
mylar and is aligned with the
bent section of the suction
duct plate.
∗ Domestic production: From 1995 mid-December production.
French (SMF) production: From 1995 mid-December production.
Chinese (SOCC) production: From the start of 1996 January production.
(4) Filter holding mylar sheets were attached in the upper frame to prevent the exhaust
gas ozone filter from falling over, but the mylar sheets were sometimes attached
diagonally. To alleviate this problem a change has been carried out in the shape of the
filter holding mylar sheets.

∗ Japanese production: From the start of 1996 January production.
Chinese (SOCC) production: From the start of mass production.
French (SMF) production: From the start of 1996 April production.
(5) The attachment screws of the TC pressure spring in the lower frame were too long,
and sometimes came in contact with the side of the paper cassette when the cassette
was inserted or removed. To alleviate this problem the screws have been changed to
shorter ones.
