IMAGE DENSITY DROP.

1.Model name: SF-2022 / 2022N, SF-2027 / 2027N

2.General: Image density drop has occurred in models SF-2022 and SF-2027. The cause and

method of checking for the problem is hereby reported.

3.Cause: When the developer is stored in hot places, such as being left in cars during the summer months, the characteristics of the carrier change, causing a image density drop.

4.Action: (Factory action)

The carrier coat type has been changed form 1993 April 3 (from production lot no. CB

4033), to prevent changes due to elapsed time and excessive heat (50°C) during storage.

(Field action)

When developer from before 1993 April 3 is used, condition of the developer should be checked (for the presence of heat stress) in accordance with the confirmation sequence described below.

Note: Developer and toner should be kept in cool, dark places. They should never be

left in places such as inside vehicles, where they will be subject to high temperatures.
