1. Trouble shooting clutch unit locking (L trouble).

1.Model Name: Z-72, 76/77, SF-6100

2.General: When excessive load is placed upon the clutch unit due to reasons such as pressure

from above on the table, or bumping the table against the wall, the return spring sometimes gets jammed between the gears and the boss inside the clutch unit, causing the clutch to lock. To alleviate this problem, the diameter of the return spring has been changed.

3.Description: The diameter of the return spring in the clutch unit has been changed from 0.8 x 0.8 to

0.6 x 1.2, and the space between the boss and the gears has been widened, preventing the return spring from becoming jammed between them. Return spring: MSPRC1207FCZZ MSPRC1207FCZ1 Diameter

The color of the lot number stamp for the clutch unit has been changed from black to blue in accordance with the change described above.

4.Action: (Factory Action) From 1994 February production. SMF: From 1994 May production.

2. Trouble shooting clutch unit output gear damage.

1.Model name: Z-30

2.General: When the original document table is pressed down upon excessive force, or when it

receives shocks from being dropped, the clutch unit output gear is sometimes damaged. To alleviate this problem, the material used in the table lock arm has been changed, allowing stress to be released at this point.

3.Description: The material of the table lock arm has been changed from POM to Pepacks (softened),

allowing stress to be released, which prevents the output gear of the clutch unit from being damaged. (Note: Only a portion of the parts comprising the clutch unit are offered as parts for service and maintenance. The lock arm has not been included in the parts offered, but will be offered from now on in accordance with this change.)
