CHANGE IN ROM OF THE MAIN PWB
(TROUBLE SHOOTING WHITE OUTS AT THE BACK
EDGE OF B5R, A4R (LETTER - R) COPY PAPERS)
1.Model name: SF-2022 / 2027
2.General: A change in the ROM (Ver 6.03) was reported in T/R SP-1658. When copy paper was
fed from the top paper cassette of the machine, white outs sometimes occurred in B5R
and A4R (Letter - R) copy papers. (This problem has not occurred when copy paper
was fed from other paper cassettes.) To alleviate this problem corrections have been
carried out on the software.
No. : SP-1702
3.Cause: In addition to changes in the H trouble detection method and jam count trouble, trouble
shooting of wrinkles that were occurring at the leading edge of the image was carried
out for B5R and A4R (Letter - R) copy papers by changing the software so that the copy
papers were pushed from behind by the feeder roller when the papers entered the
register rollers. When the copy paper was fed from the top paper cassette of the
machine, however, the copy paper was bent too much and “Z-folds” occurred, causing
white outs to occur in the rear ends of the copies. (this problem did not occur when
copy paper was fed from other cassettes, and occurred most frequently with thin copy
paper.)
4.Description: The trouble shooting measures for the wrinkles occurring at the leading edge of the
image that were carried out for B5R and A4R (Letter - R) copy papers have been
abbreviated. In accordance with this change in the software, the software Ver number
has been changed from Ver 6.03 to Ver 6.04.
Note: The problem described above has occurred only when B5R and A4R (Letter - R)
copy paper is fed from the top paper cassette of the machine when using ROM
Ver 6.03. The problem has not occurred when ROM versions other than Ver 6.03
are used, or when copy paper is fed from paper cassettes other than the top paper
cassette of the machine.
