PREVENTING IRREGULAR NOISE GENERATION AND PAPER
MISFEED CAUSED BY FUSER UNIT 63T GEARWHEEL WEAR
1.Model name: SF-9800 / 9750 / 9700
2.General: To avert possible wear in the heat roller 63T gearwheel to a half of its width, a heat
insulating washer is added to use.
Besides, correction is required in your Parts Guide for the parts code of the screw used
to hold the 63T gearwheel to the heat roller.

3.Phenomenon: Irregular noise generation may be met as the width of the heat roller gearwheel 63T
worn out to a half.
4.Cause: As a play appears in the heat roller thrust direction, the gearwheel 63T could engage to
a half of the gearwheel 35T. This increased load on their gearwheel teeth that evokes
generation of irregular noise. If the machine were to be continued with the noise
generated, the paper misfeed may occur at the paper exit area.

5.Description: A 2mm thick heat insulating washer is added between the gearwheel 63T and the
bushing to increase engagement of the gearwheel 63T to the gearwheel 35T, to avoid
wear in gearwheels.
