TROUBLESHOOTING PAPER SKEW WITH A NEW PS SPRING
1.Model name: SF-2022/2027
2.General: It may probable to evoke paper to skew owing to a load imbalance caused by
the way the PS spr ing installed. To correct it, c hange is made to the shape of the PS spring.
3.Cause: Because the spring coil is t oo short when the PS s pring was installed on the transport baseplate or a difference in the shape of the PS spring between front and rear, an imbalance might be caused for the load across springs.
4.Description: The coil length of the PS spring is changed from 9mm to 20mm with their shapes changed to the same to have ev en load.
* Described in the following are changes observed three times since the first
production unit to stabi lize the P S spring load.

NOTE: Because the latest PS spring is longer , a PS spring hol ding hole is
newly provided in the rear side of the transport baseplate. Note that the new PS spring cannot be installed on the old type baseplate as it does have the hole. Both t he old and new types will be available as servic e parts. Although there is no parts code changed for the transport baseplate, the hole for the new PS spring installation had been provided since September 1992 for the US version and mid-September for other local versions.
5.Action: Since mid-October 1992.
