TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE GLASS
BACK SIDE STAIN

1.Model name: SF-2022/SF-2027

2.General: Described in the following is the method to cure the problem.

3.Cause: Table glass back side stain After power on, silicon vaporized from the fuser CL roller

ascends by the heat convection from the lower drying heater (DH1) of the optical
system. For this attacks the back side of the table glass through the hole in the optical
baseplate, it forms a frost there and causes fog to appear lightly.

4.Description: A black polyester film is employed to block the hole in the optical baseplate to prohibit
silicon mist to intrude into the optical system.

Flow blocking polyester film

Drying heater area

Remove the table glass and attach the sheet in reference to the baseline; the end of the
flow blocking polyester film and the drying heater installed area. Those surface must be
wiped clean with alcohol.

5.Action: (Factory action)

Since mid-December 1992.

Follow the steps below to take the field action.

1. Open the original cover.

2. Remove the original guide R (two screws).

3. Remove the table glass.

4. Attach the black polyester film (shield sheet) over the specified location of the
optical baseplate.

5. Replace the table glass.

6. Replace the original guide R (two screws).

7. Close the original cover.
