ACTION TO INITIAL FAILURE: DENSITY DROP

1.Affected Models:

2.Outline: There is a possibility that copy density drop occurs on some of the machines of above

3.Symptom: The copy density drops at the initial stage or after making about 1,000 copies.

4.Cause: Transfer charger power voltaic current is not adjusted properly in the production line.

5.Corrective Action:

SF-2116/2118/1016/1018/2020/2120/1020/1120 (destined for US, Canada, Australia)

models, produced in June to November 1997. Please be informed as follows.

Please readjust the volume ‘‘VR102’’ in high voltage PWB to the position between 1:30 to 2:00, comparing to the short hand on a clock.

6.Target: Some of the machines produced in June to November 1997.

If the volume is properly adjusted to the position as mentioned above but the density drop is still allowed to continue, please investigate the machine to see if there are other causes (TC contamination, developer deterioration, drum deterioration etc.).
