1. ICU ROM version upgrade.

1.Model name: JX-9400

2.General: The points listed below concerning the ROM have been corrected, and 40 ME * ( * =

1.2) masking has been implemented.

1. Font Selection Problem 1.
When Condition 3 (listed below) is applied while Conditions 1 and 2 (listed below) are
in effect, the down load fonts are selected.
Condition 1: Non down load fonts and the symbol set of the 7-bit line are selected.
Condition 2: A font with the same 7-bit line symbol set as selected in Condition 1

above is down loaded.

Condition 3: A resident font with the same 7-bit line symbol set as selected in

Condition 1 above is selected by command.

2. SERVICE (E4) Problem.
When Condition 2 (listed below) is applied while Condition 1 is in effect, a SERVICE
(E4) error occurs.
Condition 1: A font with a symbol set other than ISO-6 is down loaded.
Condition 2: The font printout command is applied.

3. Font Selection Problem 2.
When Condition 2 (listed below) is applied while Condition 1 is in effect, the ROMAN-8
font is selected.
Condition 1: A font with a 7-bit symbol set is selected.

4. DATA LAMP.
When Condition 1 (listed below) is in effect, the data lamp does not illuminate. (This
occurs when problems are batch processed (40 MD) after RS232C reception of down
load data )
Condition 1: Only down load font data is received.

5. DATA BIT Problem.
When Condition 2 (listed below) is applied after Condition 1, the data bit is assigned
to 8.
Condition 1: The data bit is changed to 7 by key imput.
Condition 2: The power supply is turned off and then turned back on again.

4.Effective time: From August, 1993.

2. Change of PS roller of transfer charger type laser printers
(Improved diagonal feeding).

2.General: The PS roller has been changed to a tapered type roller to improve diagonal feeding of

copy paper.

2.General: The LCD sometimes blacks out due to noise caused by static electricity.To allievieate

this a 100 pF chip capacitor has been added on the C8 pad on the underside of the
OPU printed circuit board
