MEASURE TO ALLEVIATE TROUBLE OF LOCKING OF THE MOTOR IN THE RADF (U5-11/12/13).

1.Model Name: SD-2260

2.General: There was the possibility of motor locking trouble (U5-11/12/13) occurring when using the

RADF. The changes described below have been carried out in the software as a measure to alleviate this problem. In accordance with these changes, the ROM version of the RADF has been changed from V 5.10 to V 5.11. Changes which have been carried out in the software:

1. A change has been carried out in the startup timing of each motor when the dummy paper delivery is started in order to lower the voltage at the starting time of the dummy paper delivery.

2. The addition of a lock detection timer has been carried out in order to improve performance of the machine when a motor lock error occurs.

3. Corrections have been carried out on the incompatibilities caused by motor lock detection timer malfunctions in the paper transport motor on the movable side of the machine which occurred after dummy paper delivery operations had been completed.

4. Corrections have been carried out on the incompatibilities which arise when an emergency halt command is received due to opening of the DF immediately after the paper feed command is stored, when the transport of one page of the original document

to the paper feeding preparation step position has been carried out and the paper feed start command has been received. A change has also been carried out in the parts code of the PBA control PWB (w/ROM) in accordance with the change of the ROM of the machine. Note: The addition of a new ROM to the old PWB will enable the old PWB to be used as

a new one, and thus can be used in place of a new PWB.

The old ROM cannot be used in place of the new ROM.

3.Replacement procedures:

Replacement procedures for the ROM of the RADF:

1. Set the main switch to the OFF position.

2. Remove the DF maintenance cover of the RADF and replace the ROM on the PBA control PWB.

*Note: When replacing the ROM, caution should be exercised concerning the direction of attachment and to prevent the terminals from becoming disconnected.
