functions.
● Two or more sheets of document are copied and sorted. (Sort copy)
● Two or more copies of one page are sorted and discharged. (Group
copy)
● Images of two or four pages are assigned and copied on one sheet.
(2 in 1/4 in 1 copy)
● Copy is made with a binding margin (about 9 mm). (Binding margin
copy)
● Edges of document are erased. (Edge erase copy)
● Center of document are erased. (Center erase copy)
● Images are rotated 90 degrees and copied. (Rotation copy)

sheets of standard documents (ITUT chart #3 or #4, A4 size) can be read.
(The number of documents to be read varies depending on image patterns.)
When two or more documents are read and the image memory is full, the
image data lamp lights up to stop the operation.
In sort/group copy, if the number of discharged copy exceeds the following
level, the machine stops copying: 150 sheets
When the reduction ratio of images exceeds 50%, the reduction ratio of 50%
is active, resulting in broken images. For each reduction ratio, refer to the
table below.
Even though rotation copy is canceled (by the user program), rotation copy
may be made according to necessity.
Unable to combine with the binding margin copy function.
Unable to combine with the edge erase copy function.
Unable to combine with 2 in 1/4 in 1 copy.
Unable to change the binding position and the binding margin.

2. Outline of functions
The electronic sort system compresses, expands, or rotates image
data sent from the digital copier to convert them into serial data and
sends them back to the digital copier.
(1) Host interface
The host interface is composed of the image data I/O interface and
the CPU interface.
The image data interface is composed of the data reception section
which received data frame the host and the video data output section which outputs print data.
The CPU interface is available in two kinds: the serial interface
which performs command communication with the host and the I/O
port interface.
CPU
(3) Rotation process
In rotation process, image data are transmitted to the page
memory according to the specified rotation mode (0, 90, 180, 270).
As the rotation process buffer, work memory of 512 kbit is used.
(4) Page memory (DRAM)
The page memory capacity is 24 Mbyte.
The page memory stores image data from the host. When outputting video data, reading is performed with the output timing of video
signals.
When writing into the page memory, rotation function, and 2 in 1/4
in 1 function are performed.
DRAM (24MB)
Page memory
M66236

generation
(2) Coding/decoding process
In coding process, image data from the host interface is coded by
QM-coder (M65762) and stored in the compression memory.
In decoding process, coded data in the compression memory are
decoded by QM-coder and transmitted to the gate array.
(5) Video output data process
Video data are sent to the host with the data output clock (Video)
in synchronization with the horizontal sync signal (/HSYNC).
The horizontal sync signal and Video clock are synchronized by
M66236.
When outputting video data, the left margin function, the solid line
frame function, and the center erase function process are performed at the same time.
